Had a Capital One card in 2003 with a balance on it. It went to collections in 11/03. I just realized that the account has been open this whole time. Now, In 05/10 they finally closed the account. So that took almost 7 years for them to close it. My question is, will it take an additional 7 1/2 years to fall off my report since it was just reported as closed, or did the 7 1/2 years start in 11/03?

The account was closed by them, not me, so there was NO communication or agreement to pay on my end.

I have a credit card, but almost 2 years ago the cc company was sold to another company. So, now my cc is under the new companies name under a separate account on my credit report. The original account on my credit report shows $0 past due, but a balance of $254. This was the balance at the time it changed hands. Obviously the balance has been paid, but it is on my credit report as a balance.

Question 1). Will this effect my credit score, since it is showing a balance.

2). If negatively effecting my credit report, is this something I can dispute?

I tried canning today for the first time. Everything went fine, however during the sealing process, my jars did not seal on their own. I pressed on them to check if they were sealed, since I was outside and unable to hear if they did. When I pressed on them, the lids went down, but never came back up. I did not think that was possible? Are these jars sealed and safe, or should I just open them up and eat 'em, before they go bad or worse? These are strawberries by the way, if that matters...

Hello, I was wandering what the criss cross parts of a window are called. I know the sash is the outer frame, and the pane is the glass part. My question is the wood or medal that divides the panels...what is the technical name for this???

I think this will be a pretty tough question, if it can be answered. But, I need to know how to update the routing tables on a Linksys BEFSX41 router, or if this is possible at all.
