I'm a small town girl from the hill country of Texas where the Guadalupe River flows. My husband is a city boy who moved there from Houston and became my high school sweetheart. We dated 5 years before getting married in December of 2008. After I finished high school, I lived in Iserlohn, Germany as a foreign exchange student through Rotary International, which was definitely the best year of my life! Though I've travelled quite a bit around Europe, Mexico, and the Carribean, I would love to travel more! I'm laid back, caring, loyal, a bit sarcastic, open-minded, and adventurous! Since I've almost completed my basics, my plans for the near future are to finish school, where I plan to earn my Bachelor's in Kinesiology and further my education by earning my PhD in Physical Therapy, while my husband serves in the U.S. Navy. My favorite passtimes are outdoor recreation, music, sports, dance, & hanging out with friends and family. I just had my 1st child & LOVE

  • Help with Physics homework PLEASE?

Please don't just give me the answer, but also explain how you arrived at the answer. I'm terrible at Physics, so you may have to dumb it down for me.

If you are concerned that you're helping me cheat, you should know this is suggested, not required, homework that I'm doing for extra study for a test I have this week.

    Here is the problem:

Three blocks rest on a frictionless, horizontal table (see figure below), with m1 = 6 kg and m3 = 16 kg. A horizontal force F = 120 N is applied to block 1, and the acceleration of all three blocks is found to be 3.4 m/s2.

    a.) Find m2.

b.) What is the magnitude of the normal force between blocks 2 & 3.

    Thank you!

  • Ouside-the-box Chemistry Question?

How on earth do I go about solving this? Any help?

On October 15, 2009, a homemade helium balloon was released, and for a while authorities were led to believe that a 6-year-old boy had been carried away in the balloon. (The incident was later revealed to be a hoax.) The balloon traveled more than 50 mi and reached a height of 7000 ft. The span of the balloon was 20 ft. How much weight could this balloon lift? (A helium balloon can lift a mass equal to the difference in the mass of air and the mass of helium that would be contained in the balloon.) Could it actually lift a 6-year-old boy?

  • Which branches of the military offer a college program & what are the pros/cons of each branch as a whole?

My younger brother wants to join the military but isn't sure which branch. Because my husband is in the Navy, he asked for my help in doing a little research. He wants to go to college first and get his degree and then join as an officer. I'm interested in which branches offer a program like this, such as the Navy's STA-21 program. I'm also interested in hearing the pros and cons of each branch, but please try to be as objective as possible.

If you're anti-military, please refrain from responding. I highly respect each and every branch of our military, because their sacrifices are the reason our country remains free. Thank you!

  • How much is my record/8 track player worth?

I have an old record and 8 track player possibly made in the 1970's. I had plans to keep it, but it's a huge, heavy piece of furniture that takes up too much room in my house. I'm curious as to what it's worth. It's in pretty good condition, though it could use a sanding and refinishing. The 8 track player and record player worked the last time I heard them played, but that was about 10 years ago. It's a Zenith-Allegro, model # HR921P, Chassis 6WHR55, 120V 60Hz .63 AMPS. It's solid wood, except for the front, which I believe is plastic. Does anyone know what it's worth or how I can find out?

  • How do you say, "I love my Oma" in Bayerisch?

My cousin wants to get my family's coat of arms tattooed on him with "I love my Oma" on it. My Oma, or grandmother, is from Bavaria Germany (Starnberg). He wants "I love my Oma" to be in Bayerisch (Bavarian slang), rather than in Hochdeutsch (standard, textbook German). How should it read?

Please answer only if you speak Bayerisch, thank you!

  • What came first, "MILF" or "Cougar"?

I know it's silly, but I'm in a debate with my husband & a friend over which came first of these 2 slang words. I believe it's cougar, as I can't remember the 1st time I ever heard it used, whereas I never heard the term "MILF" until the movie "American Pie," yet they believe "MILF" was first. I tried to look on the internet but had trouble finding the origin of "cougar." Do any of you know? Proof would be very helpful! (website, etc) Thank you!

  • Fabric Stores Seattle?

I'm looking for a fabric store in Seattle, WA. I'd like something with higher quality fabric than JoAnn's, and am not looking for a knitting or quilting store. The best fabric store I've ever been to was High Fashion Fabrics in Houston, TX, and was hoping Seattle has something similar. I'm hoping to use the fabric to make curtains & decorative pillows. Any ideas?

  • What anesthesia can be used instead of Acepromazine?

I'm having my 6 month old female boxer spayed next Friday. I was warned by the breeder and have read numerous articles about using Acepromazine in Boxers. Though it has not technically been proven, there have been many cases in which boxers died from a heart condition shortly after receiving Acepromazine. I've spoken to 2 different vets about it, and both seem to believe it's nothing but a rumor, claiming they've never heard of it, nor have they had any problems with it in their experience. Even though I respect their professional opinions, I'd rather not take the risk. Does anyone know what drug can be substituted for Acepromazine? I tried to do a search but am having trouble finding anything.

  • I have a knot in my right leg, what is it?

There's a knot, about as big as a large marble, in between my shin and outer right leg. It is not visible, but can be felt. I thought it might be a knot like what you get when your back is tense, but I can't seem to massage it out. It only hurts when I try to massage it. What could it be? I'm hoping it's not something serious like a tumor or blood clot, that can't be fixed with stretching! Any ideas on what it might be and what I can do to fix it?

  • What are different names for "grandma" and "grandpa?"?

We're trying to come up with a cute name for my son to call my mother-in-law (my mother wants to be called "Hunny"). She is Irish and Italian, just to give you an idea. We're also looking for a nickname for my father (my father-in-law wants to be called "Papa Bear"). He is Irish and German. The name doesn't necessarily have to be related to their heritage. Any ideas?

So far we've come up with these: Nanny, Nonnie, Nonna, Oma, Nana, Granny, Memaw, Mimi

and: Gramps, Opa, Pawpaw, Papaw, Pepaw, Pop-pop, Poppy, Po-Po

  • Where can I find a supportive bra in size 34 DD?

I used to like Victoria's Secret when I was only a 34 B. Now, after recently having a baby, my breasts have grown to a size 34 DD, and I find Victoria's Secret to be of poor quality and lack the support larger breasts need. No to mention, they are extremely uncomfortable. I know plenty of bras can be found online, but I want to try them on in person before I buy them and not waste a bunch of money shipping back and forth. Any suggestions?

  • Does anyone know of a good book/gift to buy for a history teacher?

I'm looking for a gift for my brother-in-law, and since he loves to read, I thought a book would be nice. The problem is that I have no clue what he's read and what he hasn't, and I want to make sure he likes what I get him. He's an extremely intelligent high school history teacher in his mid-30's who lives in Houston, is Christian and loves baseball. Any ideas?

  • What kind of dog looks similar to a pit bull?

I have a three-year-old male pit bull that we had neutered, and I'm trying to find a rental home. The problem is, most landlords don't allow any "aggressive breeds." My dog truly is the sweetest dog and has never harmed anyone, and I couldn't bear to get rid of him. What breed of dog looks similar to a pit bull but is not considered an aggressive breed, so I can state that he's a different type of dog than he actually is? I know that sounds really bad, but I have full confidence that my dog will never hurt anyone, and if I thought otherwise, I would not keep him. He has the personality of a lab! Any ideas?

  • What should I major in to become a physical therapist?

I've already finished my basics in college, as far as courses that are required for almost any degree. I do not yet have a degree in anything. I hope to get my doctorate in physical therapy, but I don't know where to start, since I don't even have an associates or bachelor's degree yet. I plan to apply at UT, but what should I major in? Biology, kinesiology, or psychology?

  • Aviation: How to keep birds out of hangars?

I love birds, however, I work for an airport, which is a place where it is not safe or convenient to have birds around. Not only do they poop all over planes in the hangar, making customers mad, but they risk getting sucked through the engine, which really messes up the aircraft. We tried getting a cat, but the female customers and employees pet and feed it, causing it to be lazy and not hunt. The current solution is to empty the hangars and shoot them, but this is dangerous, since someone could get hurt or a bullet could ricochet and hit a plane. Not to mention, they keep coming back, making this a never ending battle. Any ideas on how to keep birds away? We don't necessarily want to kill them, just keep them from nesting in our hangars!!
