  • Implantation Bleeding or Period After Plan B Pill?

Less than a week ago, the condom slipped off as my boyfriend and I were having intercourse. I am not currently on any medications or birth control. Less than twelve hours later, I took the Plan B morning after pill. Due to a thyroid problem, I've never had a normal cycle and it's not unusual that I will go months without having one or when I get one, it'll be very VERY heavy and last around two weeks, or more.

It has been about five days since I have taken the pill and am currently experiencing very intense cramps (pretty normal for me), brown discharge mixed with a darker red blood, as well as very large, thick and black clots.

Just airing on the side of caution as I am pretty sure it's my period or a side effect of the pill. But I'd like to hear some opinions.

  • Size Conversion Help?

This is sort of a two part question, but I would like to figure out the latter half.

    1) The cells that line the small intestine are about 25 MICROMETERS. If the length of the classroom (15.3 METERS) represents the length of the cells in your intestine, how big would an E. Coli cell (2 MICROMETERS) be? The answer I got to that one was 1.224 meters long.

    2) The infected stage of a rhinovirus is about 30 NANOMETERS. Scaled to the size in question 1, how large would the rhinovirus be?

Setting up the equation is where I had the problem. I converted everything to meters to see if that would help, but all the zeroes are just making my brain hurt.

  • Relieve Wisdom Tooth Pain?

I've been dealing with wisdom tooth discomfort for a few years, now... But it has never been this bad. I do have dental insurance, but I cannot get an appointment for at least two weeks and need to do something to relieve the pain until my appointment.

Over the last few years, the pain has come and gone... however this round has not let up and I can't stand it anymore. My upper left wisdom tooth is impacted and the gums around it are tender and swollen... it throbs constantly, keeping me up at all hours of the night. I've been taking aspirin, tylenol, advil, aleve... and they've all seemed to stop working. There's only so much pain killer I can take before I give myself liver damage! I've tried ice packs, oragel numbing agents but nothing seems to take the constant throbbing away. This seemingly little pain centered around one nerve has evolved and expanded and brings me constant misery through my entire left jaw, cheek, and temple regions. The pressure in my had is driving me insane.

Even when I do have my appointment, it'll still be a few weeks before I can even be scheduled for any oral surgery. I am hoping my dentist can prescribe me something to take the misery away, at least temporarily until I can get them OUT.

    Any tips would be welcome.

  • What Is The Name of This Older Cartoon!?!?

This has been bothering me for years... But I remember watching a VHS when I was younger that featured a musical cartoon with a duckling or gosling that swam away from the group in to a saw mill where a bigger bird, perhaps a crow or something, was trying to get it? At the end the little duckling puts the antagonist bird's head in the center of the sawmill wheel? Something like that.... I honestly can't remember if it was a Silly Symphony or a Merrie Melodie.... It's been itching at my brain for years.

  • Suggestions for David Bowie Biographies?

Since the release of his first single in just about a decade, I have caught Bowie Fever again. Shame he won't tour, though. I was wondering if anyone knew of any good biographies on this enigma of a man. I read "Strange Facination" about two years ago, however, it seemed really author-biased. I suppose what I am looking for is something unbiased, but with today's media that could be hard to find. But if anyone knows of some good reads or anything else you'd like to share, feel free to leave a post!

  • Diabetic Cat and Traveling Cat Advice?

I've lived in Florida for the last five years, and recently came up for a few months to take care of my mom. During that time, she never took my cat to the vet (she is 13, black cat, domestic shorthair). When I took her to the vet, I was informed she was diabetic... Which struck me as odd because she is only 7lbs and has never been overweight. She seems relatively healthy... She's never been the most affectionate or playful or social able cat... But I am one of the very few people she is affectionate with... I do not want her to associate me with insulin needles and I can't really afford them, nor can I a prescription food plan... I mean for goodness sakes she's 13! But I have been giving her a high protein/ low carb diet and she seems like she's perked up a little and has filled out a little bit more.

In three weeks I am moving back to Florida, and I am taking her with me because when my mom moves to her place, they will take her dog, but not the cat, whereas my place does. I was wondering if anyone had any tips for traveling from upstate NY to Southwest FL with a kitty that is not the biggest fan of the car and has never travelled that far? I don't own a big car... Just a 2012 VW Jetta. I was also wondering how to make her a bit more comfortable with the climate change and not being outside anymore... I do have a lenai, so she might like that. The bigger issue is that my boyfriend and I got two kitties from the humane society who are quite affectionate and playful (both 2 years old, one another striped domestic shorthair and a Turkish van)... Is there a way to slowly introduce themselves or not make my senior kitty feel left out? Like I said, she isn't the most sociable, but I don't want her to feel neglected. Also, obviously the younger ones are on a different diet and are fed twice a day, wheras my senior is used to having food out and eating as she pleases but I am worried my Turkish Van will gobble everything of hers up. I know these questions are really stupid, but I don't want to be overwhelmed (or her to be) when I get back down there. Thankies :3

  • Older Cat Night Yowling?

I've had my female black cat for just over fourteen years, now, and she has seen other pets in her days. She was never a particularly social cat and only recently she has starting meowing, crying, and yowling at night. She is not deaf or blind or has any other health issue. She is spayed, eats well and lives in a clean environment... She rushes towards the door sometimes and seems anxious about it, but I do not let her out at night, and she knows that. Any ideas?

  • An American In Australia?

I have loved Australia since I visited when I was a little girl, and having some good friends there make me want to go back more and more often.

Just a few details... I am 22, currently hold a degree in music, but I would really like to go back to school for international business or commerce. I have been out of school working in hospitality for two years and find that I enjoy it pretty well. From what I've read, obtaining a work visa for something not to specialized because most every single job requirement I read is that you have to be a domestic resident. I was wondering if it would be better to try and get accepted through a university down there and get my degree there and then having a better chance of getting a work visa as well? Or, should I begin my degree up here and try to transfer? One of the places I have worked, we used to bring people in from all over the world for 9 months to work, but I am not finding anything like that from all the hospitality jobs I read about, all domestics.

What might work well, in this situation? All suggestions are welcome. :)

  • Recipes and Diet Advice (gluten-free)?

Hello, I am 22, 5'3", and about 140lbs. I have a pretty active lifestyle, however, I would like to get down to a healthy and toned weight and appearance. I currently run, do yoga, cycle, rock climb, and weight train. But no matter how active I am or how hard I push myself I can't seem to get rid of some extra weight... I was thinking it may have something to do with amy under active thyroid. I was reading that in order to be a bit healthy you should have some snacks thought the day very few hours, but most packaged ones I see contain gluten. I do love to eat fruit, however at my job I can't have too many breaks or keep things in a refrigerator. I was wondering if someone had any suggestions. Also, if there are any nice, light, and fit recipes out there for breakfast, lunch or dinner that are also gluten free, I would be most appreciative. If there's any other advice you would be willing to share, I would very much appreciate it, too! Thank you!

  • Do Age, Diet, or Medical Procedures Affect Sensitivity to Semen?

This may sound like a silly question, however, I am curious. I am not sure if I have a semen sensitivity or allergy, but I do get some odd sensations immediately after sex. My first serious intimate partner was 23 years of age, ate a lot of red meats and dairy, was sort of lazy, but overall healthy... After we would finish intercourse, I had to always wipe myself with wipes or a washcloth because it would just burn and sting. My more recent intimate partner was older, 31. And was on a gluten-free, mdairy free diet, like myself. He also had a vasectomy. But after I would be finished with him, there really was no problem. Any ideas?

  • Problem with glasses/contacts?

I have worn glasses and contacts for roughly 10 years (I am now 22), and I recently had a style, to which I few out the infected lenses and wore my glasses for three days while it healed. However, today when I put my glasses on when I woke up, it seemed like my left lens was blurry as if it were dirty. I sprayed the lens and cleaned it, and looking away (I am farsighted) like towards the television, i find it hard to focus, which has never happened before. I also have never worn my glasses this long for quite some time. I put in a new contact lens and I am having the same problem. It's strange that this would happen so suddenly, but I worry because my left eye is my strong eye, and with it struggling to focus, it feels weird.

  • Growing Pet Friendly Plants and Citrus in Florida?

Hi everyone! I was raised in upstate New York and was used to seasonal gardening up there. I just recently moved to SW Florida- Sanibel to be exact, or Zone 10a and I live on rented property so I cannot plant in their soil... Plus it is way too sandy. I do have a screened-in lanai and would love to have some plants out there to soak up all that lo let sun it gets. Potted plants for now! I stated geminating lemon and grapefruit seeds because I know they take a loooong time to mature an grow but I would also love to have plants my two kitties can enjoy the thought also have some benefits, such as bug and flea repelling... Especially flea repelling! I live on a stilted property and those buggers can jump up there as get at my babies even after exterminators have sprayed. Any advice is great advice!

  • Adult male neutered cat not using litter box?

Me and my fiance adopted two adorable year-old kitties from our local animal shelter. After picking them up from the shelter and their spay/neuter surgeries, our boy cat has been having some diarrhea and gave us a pill to give him. No problems. We don't know their histories outside of their medical records and he has not once used the litter box and if we plop him in, he hops right out. you can understand the frustration because we have light beige carpets... I've had many cats before but never an adult that did not use a litter box... Any advice? they're both comfortable and now familiar with their new living space... But our boy will just not like the litt box. Won't even go near it. Advice?

  • What in the WORLD is wrong with my Computer (PC)?!?

My PC (vista, HP dv5) has been running smoothly since I got it nearly 3 years ago. Recently, where I live has decided to "update the wifi". Ever since they decided to do that, I had to update my flash (which was already done weeks ago) and my internet browser (Safari and Firefox) became unbearably slow. I also had to download Silverlight again to be able to watch Netflix. Upon downloading these items, my computer would stop responding in the middle. When I'd download the flash update, my computer could never open the program. After restarting, my computer now will stop responding nearly 30 seconds after logging in. The mouse will still move around, but everything else is frozen, and I cannot open my task manager upon the Ctrl+alt+del prompt. The only way I can make it work at the moment is if it is on Safe Mode. I don't go on any sites with viruses, I have great anti-virus, malware, and spyware protection. What could this possibly be? How can I fix it at least temporarily until I can afford an Apple :p

  • Does Soy Lecithin Contain Gluten?

I've been dating a guy for quite some time who has Celiac Disease. After dating him for some time, I've adjusted my diet to suit his needs and cut gluten from my diet, as well (especially we will soon be living together and don't want to worry an ounce about cross-contamination). Also, after not having gluten for quite some time, I am a bit sensitive to it, now. A friend gave me a package of Archer farms (Target brand) andouille sausage and I'd love to use it in Gluten-Free jambalaya. The package says it contains soy lecithin and after getting no answer from the company I wanted to know if anyone had any experience with it and/or knows if they use soy with wheat, or not? Thanks a TON! :D

  • Recipes Without Gluten or Eggs?

I have been with this guy with Celiac disease for a while, now. I've adjusted my diet to suit him. We recently discovered that he also cannot eat eggs. Are there any recipes out there from real people that I could make for him? Thank you so much! :]

  • Could I Have Gluten Sensitivity?

For the last few months I was dating (before a nasty breakup) a man with Celiac disease. I changed my diet for him, but while at school I still ate things with gluten because nearly everything had it and it was too much to always ask about cross contamination in a busy university cafeteria. Since breaking up I've pretty much kept the same diet. Only, now more than before I tend to suffer from explosive liquid diarrhea within 45 minutes after I eat something with gluten in it, and sometimes constipation. My lower abdomen feels like it's boiling with popping noises when someone places their ear to it, and the lower abdomen feels bloated and queasy. I remember my ex telling me that some people have gluten sensitivity without having Celiac, but I've never really had any problems before and I have been fine my whole life until now. Sometimes it's really inconvenient. What can I do? What can I tell my doctor?
