I'm not trying to be the grammar or spell check police here...but I have a friend who was born & raised in the USA, who's first language is English, and the man just doesn't bother to spell anything correctly (on IM). It's always "shure" instead of "sure", or "stake" instead of "steak", or "definitilly" instead of "definitely", or "ware" instead of "where", etc. I can understand not using correct grammar on IM, I'm guilty of that too...just takes too much time. But to misspell something like "sure"?? Come ON!!!!

I don't know why, but this just drives me INSANE!!! He's certainly not stupid...does this just mean he's uneducated or doesn't care?? Anybody feeling me?

Do you believe that a person should take pride in their education and language by at least trying to get it right??? Maybe it's the perfectionist in me. I just had to rant. Sorry y'all!

I own a 1998 Honda Civic LX, w/a 1.6L engine and Automatic Transmission.

I failed emissions and I need a new O2 sensor. I don't know if it's the upper, or lower, or both. (Should the emissions paper say??)

Can anyone tell me how much this repair should cost me? I don't want to get gypped if someone tries to take advantage of my female naivety regarding car repair.

I just moved from Tampa to Chicago this April. My ex's old boss (Jake) from Tampa is originally from Chicago and we've always been on friendly terms since we met (in Tampa). Me and my ex dated for 5 months. It ended in August. He was a crackhead psycho and I broke up w/him. I've had a crush on Jake since I met him when I was dating the ex but never thought to do anything about it. Last week Jake invited me to Thanksgiving dinner w/him & his family up here in Chicago since I have no family here myself. I said I couldn't b/c I was flying to Tampa for T-day. He wants to meet up Wed night (I fly out Thurs morn) and take me out for drinks and drive me to the airport in the morning. I totally agreed. He told his mom it's not a girlfriend thing (since I'm staying the night). He also told me he likes women who challenge him. I want to know...does this guy maybe have a thing for me? Is it OK flirt with him (he gave me ammo...)? Would the fact that my ex is a tweaker effect the way he sees me?

Maybe I am just stereotyping, but should it take a GUY very long to get over a relationship that was nothing but destructive to his own self esteem? He says he hates her now....and still loves her.

He also slept with me about 2 weeks after they broke up. It has been about 2 weeks since we did that...and we were drunk.

Is this guy just girly with the emotional baggage or do guys really hurt inside and just not show it? I expect to hear this kind of stuff from women, not men. I thought men just moved on, no skin off their back.
