I am looking to purchase a signed magazine that is framed from eBay.

The value of the item is £97 and £45 for delivery.

What taxes and duty would I pay on this item (if any) when it comes into the country?

My laptop recognises the optical drive, but nothing plays on it, you can hear it start up, then stop and nothing.

I believe this might be simply a replacement of the optical drive but someone had told me it could be a mother board issue.

How likely is it to be the latter?

What i really don't want to hear is a lame 'optical drive is broken' as my computer is not indicating how this can possibly be the problem.

I have used the fix it tool on Microsofts site (found nothing), i have troubleshooted (found nothing) the drive is listed.

All it ever does when i put a disk in is run click, run and click. Then i go to my computer and when i double click the drive, it opens the tray!!!!

Is it worth uninstalling the driver so it automatically reinstalls upon restart?

Since upgrading my Sensation XE to Ice Cream Sandwich a issue has developed whereas i cannot view my messages or write any. This never happened before and i am wondering, if it came to have to conduct a factory re-set (which i think it may) how can i save apps so i don't lose data, so games where i have joined and is continous play like Zynga games?

Any help on resolving the issue will be appreciated if factory re-set can be avoided.

I have both Bitdefender Internet Security 2012 and Superantispyware Free (therefore no real-time protection) on the same PC.

Is it possible though that they are conflicting at all? I know Superantispyware is not an anti-virus but as it is a powerful tool i didn't know whether it had the capabilities of screwing it up.

DM111P Netgear modem

Since upgrading my internet with AOL to a faster connection and new phone line i have encountered an issue ever since.

I have set up my modem to my router and the router to the PCs etc that use it. I have entered the required VCI and VPI levels, i have entered what i researched to be a standard MTU size (1400 at the moment) i know my PPPOE and password is all good, the router is certainly not the issue, it is down to the modem and beyond!

If i explain what happens it might help. I will get online, and after no particular time the little symbol appears on the signal icon on the toolbar, internet is dead. If i leave it, the internet re-establishes itself automatically after anything between 1 minute to 40mins (by this time i would have normall manually reconnected the settings) and business resumes.

It has only happened since our service update and i have always been with AOL. If it helps, sometimes when this happens i struggle to access the Netgear config screen but the router config screen appears normally.

I have a Netgear DM111P Modem ADSL2+. I then have this further connected to a Buffalo router. Now i know that they are compatable as they have happily worked together for the last 2years. However the other day we had our internet upgraded subsequently leading to a loss of internet supply the reconnection. Now, I class myself quite knowlegable around this tech but i am a little confused as to the problem i am having.

The issue i am having is that the bottom light that confirms a connection to the internet will be on for a period of time before switching off and staying off.

I have therefore checked the PPPoE username and password (the password i found to be wrong so changed it) the VCI and VPI were also correct. As soon as i do the internet connection wizard on both the modem and the router all is fine until BAM! It disconnects itself again. Audibly the phone line sounds fine so i can't go for that being the issue, the settings seem to be up to scratch and all the IP adresses and MAC codes add up...so as you can well imagine i am pulling at straws and am trying to avoid calling AOL as their 'guides' are basically the manual for the modem.

I'm really pulling at straws now but can't help having the feeling that the ADSL filter might be on the blink for whatever reason? But i am almost 100% sure that somewhere the router config isn't right.

I hopw i have helped narrow down the causes.

One last thing, the router is working fine until the modems connection conks out.

On my ford focus 1.4 2002 the speed dial keeps cutting out and the mileage display comes up with dashes.

I've stuck quite firmly that as it is only the speedometer that this only likely to be the vehicle speed sensor, an issue that runs wild on ford internet forums, however there is something called the Dash Cluster failure, but i get the impression this is the whole dash failing and numerous other things.

So whats your thought? i don't reckon much on paying Ford for diagnostics, labour and parts if i can just get a mate the part and he fits it.

I have a game in disc format however it supports everything up to Vista, but more recent downloads from the developers website state its Windows 7 compat. Would this make mine Windows 7 compat also?

My Ford Focus 2001 1.4 is having issues where the speedometer intermittently cuts out especially when the weather is damp and cold.

On research i know what this issue is and also know that the part is quite inexpensive (assuming that my car is a IB5 gearbox?) How do i know exactly if my car is an IB5 as i would rather me get the part than a dealer.

Plus how long on estimate would you think that it would take to replace and at what cost labour wise?

Any ideas?

Okay i have quite good know-how when it comes to Tech but i am stuck well and truly between these two Laptops. I have been wanting a Laptop capable of gaming, not talking the massive high end games neccessarily. I also would like to use it capable of plugging into the TV. I want it to act fast and eficient. Please suggest under £500 reccommendations, but please no Apple, not what i want.

So please can i have your thought on these two, very similar, but very different at the same time.

I missed 1 payment by 7-10 days, they charged me late fee £12, hands up, this was not intentional however i missed the payment (accidently). Thing i'm worried about is credit rating, its bound to affect it if they notify the beareu but if i have paid quickly enough noticing my mistake and have never done anything like this before does this all get taken into account or is it all a automated penal system?

My LG HDTV for some reason is no longer accepting my HD upscaler or Laptop with HD socket.

I have tried 2 HDMI cables, unplugging the tv and dvd player, plugging it all backs up again, tried all the HDMI sockets and it just does not work, at the moment i running off using the Scart cable, so it does not seem to be the dvd player, but what i fear is that it might be the TV, but why would it suddenly stop working?

Okay so 2 weeks ago, my LG tv via HDMI would connect and display my laptop so i could watch movies through that, then that stopped, well i wasn't too fussed about that, but when i connect my cable up to my HD upscaler via HDMI, no matter what socket i put it in on the TV i can never seem to get a picture to come up, it says 'connecting' then 'no signal'.

So thinking that it may be the cable (it seemed quite tight going into socket so thought one of the inside bits may be damaged) i went and bought a cheap and bog standard HDMI cable, but still nothing, i have turned both tv and DVD player on and off and nothing whatsoever. But then i go to 'component' on the 'Input' menu, i get a black and white picture, so although i wouldn't use it this way, the DVD player is certainly working.

Is it possible that a DVD player like an upscaler in its settings could default to Scart thus causing the HDMI not to work?

How much would the replacement of a distorted wheel and possibly clutch, most likely using items from a breakers, then on top of that labour, and a diagnosis aswell cost? Based on an average labour cost by a VW cert dealership. On a 2000 VW Polo.

After alot of hassle with a internet provider since an accidental disconnection since then i have not been able to get my Netgear DM111P modem to work with my Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 Airstation. I receive the internet wired from my modem and i set up my wireless using the AirStation Connection Wizard but once i connect the modem cable into the back of the Buffalo router the signal is strong but the internet cannot be found.

I have done Windows assistance and it just tells me to turn the modem on and off...not very helpful as that does not work.

Help appreciated.

The bit of earth was dug up and has revealed about 2 inches lower than grass line compact sandy soil so i need to top it up...but with what? Just top soil? Bit of fertilizer and then top soil to reduce acidity? Needs to be good for bulbs almost instantly.

I cannot get an internet connection with my router even though i have plugger it into the filter and back into the WAN port and it can never get the connection.

I have got a Buffalo WHR-HP-G54 and am connecting it to aa Dell Inspiron with Windows 7
