  • What kind of bug is getting into my house?

The past two or three weeks, we have been finding these weird looking bugs in my house. I have noticed that they seem to be coming in from windows (air conditioning openings, etc) and vents. I have NEVER seen them before, but we occasionally get strange critters around here since we live in a wooded area in East-Central Indiana, USA. Bug description: large (usually around 1 1/2-2 inches long), brown, long-oval shaped, and they fly. If I didn't know any better, I would think that they are giant flying cockroaches on steriods. They look very similar to cockroaches, but when i googled them, I noticed that they don't look exactly like roaches. I am very curious to find out what these things are. I am frightened of them because they are SO BIG, and I want to get rid of them. I just don't understand why we have just started seeing them when we have lived here for 4 years. If anyone has ANY idea what they are or how I can find out, PLEASE let me know! I really want to get rid of them and stop them from getting into my home. THANKS!

  • Are there any steps you can take to protect a book that you are writing?

I have started writing a book, and I'm very excited about it. I was wondering if there is anything I can do to protect my work in progress, such as what I have written thus far, my title, and ideas I have written down concerning the book (plot points, character profiles, etc). I just want to do everything possible to ensure the safety of my work. I am EXTREMELY confident in this book, and I KNOW it will be great. I just don't want to be stupid by not protecting it and end up having it or my ideas stolen. I would REALLY appreciate ANY tips! THANKS!

  • What angle would the sun be at in the sky at 3:30pm?

I am writing a book, and I am describing how a house and the surrounding area looks at 3:30 in the afternoon. I am talking about how the sun has just fallen behind the house, therefore illuminating objects around it. Since the sun is directly overhead at noon, i was guessing that it would be at approximately a 45 degree angle at 3:30pm, but that is just my guess. I would really appreciate if anyone could let me know if I am on the right track or not. Even if 45 degrees is close, I would prefer to be as close to exact as possible, obviously. THANKS!

  • What "inner dialogue" words can be used to replace the word "thought"?

I am writing a book, and I need more words that can be used in place of the word "thought". For example. "What else could go wrong?" Jennifer thought.

I have found MANY of dialogue words to replace "said", but I can't find or think of many more to use instead of "thought". I would really appreciate any ideas. And PLEASE, I don't need any criticism, I know how some people think it's fun to put others down for their questions. THANKS! :)

  • Can you save an MS Word document under TWO separate locations at the SAME TIME?

I am in the middle of writing my book and I want to save it to my computer AND to my flash-drive, for backup of course. It is becoming very tedious having to save my work to each location separately. I was wondering if there is a way to save a Microsoft Word document to BOTH my computer and flash-drive simultaneously. While I am writing, I press "CTRL + S" VERY often to ensure that my new work is saved. I would like it to save my document to both places when I do this. I know that I can go to "Save As", and save it to each of these locations individually, but it would be much simpler to use "CTRL+S" and save it to each location at the same time, rather than using the more time-consuming route. I didn't know if there was a way to change the settings for saving files to do this or not. If it's not possible to save documents concurrently, I would appreciate ANY suggestions you may have on a quick and easy way to save my files. Thank you!

  • What do you think of this Title for my series?

I'm writing a novel which will eventually become a series, and it's basically a supernatural love story/mystery. It's about a girl that moves to a quaint coastal town and meets and falls in love with a young man. She eventually learns that the the boy she's in love with is a ghost that lived in that town many years ago. Anyway... these are the names that I have come up with for titles of each book in the series. I'm not sure which ones sound the best, so please give me your input. By the way, as you can tell, each title is similar to the other, so the readers can tell that they are a series. Also, if you can think of other titles that would go well with the titles I've listed, that would be great. I welcome your ideas!

    "Whispers"

    "Echoes"

    "Murmurs"

    "Sighs"

    "Gasps"

I'm also not sure if I should end the words with an "s" or and "ed" or without either. For example: "Whispers", "Whispered", or "Whisper".

Please give me any and all of your opinions. I've already began my first novel, and I am extremely excited about it. Like I said, if you can think of any other words that would go well with this group, please let me know. And also tell me which of these titles you like the most. THANKS!!!!

  • Are there any places in the United States that has lighthouses and wild horses?

I'm writing a book and I have a specific scenery in mind, but I'm not sure where it should take place. I like the idea of an old-fashioned (18th century homes, etc.)quaint, coastal town that also has lighthouses. I really like the idea of wild horses running around, but it's not a must-have. There is a movie called "Half-Light" starring Demi Moore, in which she moves to a Scottish town, and that movie has a similar scenery to what I'm looking for. I thought about Maine, but I'm still not sure. I am open to any suggestions. Websites with pictures is definitely a PLUS! THANKS!!

  • Does Obama believe in God?

I remember reading that President Obama was planning to change the White House Christmas Tree to a "Holiday" tree. I was curious as to why he would do this unless he doesn't believe in the Christian God and/or Jesus Christ. Does anyone know anything about this? And if he doesn't hold Christian beliefs, what does he believe? Is anyone else concerned about having a President that is a "non-believer"? And then we wonder why the country is in trouble....
