  • question about scoring on the USMLE?

while taking the actual USMLE, at the end of each section there is a button you have to press, i think it said "END" or something like that. While taking the test, for a few of the sections, I was unable to press the "end " button. If i don't press that button, do the questions on that section not get included in the score? my results came out, and they are very very low from what i was expecting and much lower than my practice test results. i'm wondering maybe not pressing the "end" button made a difference. Any information would be of great help. i can't seem to find this info online anywhere. thanks.

  • need a Nanny in Connecticut?

Hi, i'm going to be moving to connecticut in the summer. my husband and i are starting residency positions there. my husband in new haven, and me in derby. we will probably live somewhere in between or near those two cities.

i have a two year old son. i will put him in full time day care, but some days (about every 4th or 5th day) i will be on call till 8:30 pm, i would need a nanny to pick him up from daycare which closes at 6 until i come back home at 9. and then i also need the nanny to work one day of every weekend. but every third weekend i have the entire weekend off.

if u are interested or know anybody, please please please let me know. thankyou!!!!!!

  • Why is Adam not the son of God?

christians.....what makes Jesus so special for him to be the son of God? With that reasoning, shouldn't Adam be the son of God then, he didn't have a father or a mother.....wouldn't it make sense if neither of them were sons of God and just God's chosen people to do his work?

  • pediatric residency rejections??

So i've been getting a few rejections from pediatric residencies. (i've gotten interviews in a few places as well tho thank goodness). My question is, do all programs send an e-mail CONFIRMING they rejected you, or do some programs not even bother. Cuz there are a few programs i'm interested in that i haven't heard from. so i'm thinking either they're still considering me or i'm rejected and don't know it and will have to just wait and wait till the end of the season to figure out that i was always rejected.

So yeah, question is- do all programs send out emails confirming rejection? and if they dont, is there a way you can call in or check online whether interviews have all been granted and done with so that we don't wait pathetically for a response from them?

    thanks!

  • when can a baby somersault?

my child is 21 months old and can already somersault. is this too early? should i make him stop? when he first attempted it i tried to stop him thinking he'd break his neck, later i figured he's going to do it anyways so i should teach him to do it the right way. now he somersaults all over the place, often more than ten at a time. is this normal for this age? i don't see any other kids doing this....

  • question about the ending of new movie INCEPTION?

how come Cobb and Saito (in the very end where they're all old and stuff) jump from limbo straight to the plane scene??? Do they kill eachother/themselves???? but that wouldn't make sense b/c they're using that heavy sedative that doesn't allow u to kill urself to come back, it would just take them to another limbo, right? and only a "kick" would let them come back, but i didn't see any hint of a "kick" to get back. OR (this is my hypothesis, tell me if i'm right or wrong), the duration of the sedative was made to be exactly the duration of the plane ride, so that by the time the end of the plane ride neared, the effect of the sedative was gone and they would be able to kill themselves (instead of using the "kick") to come back to reality.

    thanks for your answers!

I will be applying for a pediatric residency this fall and I have an 18 month old child. I wanted to know how do other parents out there who are residents and have children manage taking care of them. most day cares close at 6 pm, right? and what about night calls? does second year tend to be a bit more easier? i'm married but my husband is applying for surgery, so i don't know how much i'll be able to count on him to cooperate. any suggestions or stories of experience will be helpful. THANKS!
