  • He likes his vegetables....meaning?

    Someone was talking in the store about a man who is cheating on his wife and they said "He likes his vegetables, if you know what I mean." It was all I could do to not turn around and ask what she meant. So at the risk of sounding "dumb" can anyone enlighten me? : )

  • Fix it & Forget It recipe for Crock Pot Stuffing?

    Someone was telling me about a stuffing/dressing recipe they have in a Fix it and Forget it Cookbook that you can make in a crock pot...Would anyone have that recipe to share? It was really basic stuff...bread, chicken broth, butter, and some salt. No onions, or celery, no sage...my kids aren't fans of the *good stuff* lol. I remember her saying that it cooks for 3-4 hours on the low setting but I was hoping to get the amounts of all the ingredients. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks- and have a great Thanksgiving!

  • Newbie programming *student* needs help...?

    I have an assignment that we have an existing GUI and all I have to do is code is in VB.Net to function like a cash register. seems easy enough right? but remember I'm just learning...so I have a textbox the user inputs a price, a label to have a running subtotal, a label for the tax amount, and a label for the grand total. Also the gui has an enter button which is clicked after each price and will add to the subtotal, then there is a total button that when clicked figures the tax amount and displays it as well as the grand total is figures and displayed.

    so here is what I have for the enter button (just to add the prices for a subtotal) but every time I click a new price- and then enter the new price isn't added to the subtotal- instead the subtotal is whatever price I just typed in... so here is my code. Can someone tell me what I am missing or have done wrong?

    Dim currentPrice As Decimal

    Dim subtotal As Decimal

    currentPrice = Val(currentPriceTextBox.Text)

    'add the items values

    total = subtotal + currentPrice

    'display subtotal

    subtotalValueLabel.Text = String.Format("{0:C}", total)

    'clear item price box

    currentPriceTextBox.Text = ""

    If currentPrice > 0 Then

    total = Val(subtotalValueLabel.Text) + currentPrice

    End If

    End Sub

  • Does anyone have a *no salt* water softener? Contractors, homeowners, plumbers, etc.?

    We need to replace our Waterboss water softener...we have iron, and sulfur (UGH) Our toilets get the orange stains, and in the past few days my kitchen faucet water is gray/black. We built our house in '98, so our well was also done then. Our water has steadily gotten worse over the last few months and I'm tired of the salt bags, maintenance of the waterboss. I have read online about the Pelican Filtersorb SP and the Freije treatment system...but I like to hear feedback from people who either have these systems or know something about them. Anyone that has knowledge of the different water softeners/conditioners and can share some insight with me, I would *greatly* appreciate it!!! Thanks! :)

  • What does an opthamologist mean when she says that my daughter's eye measured at +3.00?

    The other day I took my 4 yr old to the opthamologist because of her left eye turning in towards her nose. After a thorough test we were told she is really farsighted in her left eye only and she is straining to see and that is causing her eye to turn in...so here is my question-- the dr said she "measured at a 3 but she wanted to start my daughter out with +2.00 instead because of the thickness"? What does that really mean in laymans terms? In my shock & disbelief I left the office and then began wondering...why would she put her in a 'script that is less than what she may really need? I know, I know...I should have called the Dr (and I still will once the office opens *on Monday*!), but thought I'd post here to see what anyone thought or knew about this instead of causing more anxiety over the weekend :) ...Thanks for your kind input- I'm still a little flabbergasted that my littlest one will be wearing glasses in just a few days! :|

  • Basic programming question?

    Write a program in BASIC that computes and displays a 15% tip where the price of a meal is input by the user.

    (I'm a just a newbie and I *think* I understand but, was hoping someone would make sure I'm heading in the right direction...so here is what I have figured...) I know this really isn't so much a question but can someone throw me a bone?

    Declare MealPrice, Tip As Real

    Write "Enter your meal price."

    Input MealPrice

    Set Tip = MealPrice * .15

    Write "The calculated tip for your meal is: ", Tip

  • Anyone have Mountain King Christmas Tree Directions?

    Ok- before anyone starts putting any *smart* answers to this question- I'm just hoping someone can give me the correct order of colors for the branches...we have a 10' tree and unfortunatly it's not one of the *new* fold up style trees :o( and we lost the directions...I know someone will have *brilliant* idea to hold the branches next to each other and I should be able to see the longer ones go on the bottom and work my way up to the top with the shorter ones....duh! *but* some of the colors are so close it's hard to tell... so anyone....please....do you have the correct order of the colors?

    Thanks!!! ;o)

  • Poison Ivy Oils on Furniture from Pet?

    I am wondering if my dog or cat got into poison Ivy and laid on a chair, if the oils are in the fabric of this chair, how would I go about removing them? Can I use my hoover steam cleaner on the chair, and if I do will it remove the oils or should I pre-treat it with something before?

    I have a small but quite irritating case of pi and that is the only way I can think of I possibly got it because after sitting on the chair and watching a movie, I started itching and the subsequent red patches starting showing up. Any help on how to clean that chair would be greatly appreciated!
