Why do internet pages appear so small on my new 17" laptop monitor? Most look better if I go to 150% zoom, but I'm tired of doing this. Its as if the pages were built for smaller monitors. Help

The other computers on the network work fine. I did a soft and hard reboot of the router and also reinstalled the drivers on my wireless card. I'm absolutely perplexed. When I look at the web utility for my router its as if the missing computer doesn't exist, yet the CP says its connected (without IP address). Any suggestions?
