How to calculate the size of the resulting diameter of a black hole?
Trying to get an answer to the following question:
Assume an O-type star of 40 M has left the main sequence phase of its life. As it enters the final stage of life, about 50% of its mass from its outer layers is ejected during the Type 2 supernova and the leftover matter near the core collapses inward to form a black hole.
Calculate the total diameter, in kilometers, of the resulting black hole.
7 AnswersAstronomy & Space11 months agoWill a line mixer on a sound system be able to take the amplified signal from a powered mixer and send that through to the speakers w/power?
I'm trying to setup a simple pa system with 2 horn-style speakers and am trying to make it so I can control each speaker's volume individually. Would I be able to take a powered mixer with the music devices plugged into that and plug that amps output into a line mixer that goes to each speaker and have that work?
In simpler terms, will a line mixer carry the power through it and re-send it to the speakers or does the powered portion of it just basically die in the line mixer?
Hope this isn't too confusing; just don't know how to word it any differently.
3 AnswersOther - Electronics2 years agoWould I get more general outdoor range if I buy a GMRS License which would be on the UHF band/repeater or if I used MURS legally?
When I say MURS legally, I mean keeping that legal in accordance with the 2 watt max and using MURS radios etc.
basically staying legal either way.
And general outdoor use as in in and around my home and places that I might travel to. So generally outdoors but I might walk inside my house or a building so it would have to transmit through walls too. Not necessarily just outside or line of sight.
Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersOther - Electronics2 years agoCan a cable company shutoff service to you right away if they determine that there is cable leakage?
There are two boxes, one out by the street and the other one up on the side of the house. If it is their issue and the point of leakage is anywhere before the house splitter box (on their end), are the required to notify you before they cut service even if it is a bad leak or can they just shut it off right away and leave a note on the door informing the subscriber of the issue?
-Please answer this including two scenarios if you can - leakage being on their / the leakage being on my end.
Thanks in advance
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics3 years agoDo you have to vent a Portable Air Conditioner?
I live in the Bay Area of California so it's not very humid here and my intent is to put one in my garage and also a bedroom.
I also don't really want to buy a Swamp Cooler as you have to keep adding water to it. My garage and the bedroom that we will put them in is generally cool, but we like to have it 'cold'..
I guess what I'm asking is "Can you get by without venting it in my environment even if it might just take longer to cool... ?"
Would it be better to get a bigger/smaller one than one that's rated for the appropriate sq ft?
Thanks
7 AnswersDecorating & Remodeling3 years agoDo you need a special license to drive a Diesel Pusher RV in California?
I live in California and sometimes travel out of state with our RV-
We're looking into getting a bigger one but I've heard that Nevada requires like a semi-commercial drivers license for vehicles over so many pounds - like a 40ft Diesel Pusher RV with air brakes.
Does California require anything special like that?
I've done some research but can't find a clear answer..
1 AnswerInsurance & Registration3 years agoHow are streets and their names added to maps and just - the "database" in general?
When new housing tracks go in, how do those streets get their names? Is it on a local, state, or federal level?
If someone were to buy a piece of land, put a house on it, and then put a road going to it assuming the land is a pretty good size; enough for a street leading to the house - Would they be able to name that street or get it named and then have it added to major map systems in general?
How does that work?
I just thought about it a few months ago and the thought of it just now came back and now it's bugging me
-Thanks in advance!

Does anyone know of anything that I can fill a screw hole with that's in drywall that really hardens up?
I don't really want something that just crumbles after drying like putty or wood filler...
Not sure if there's really anything out there like that...
Thanks

4 AnswersDo It Yourself (DIY)3 years agoLED Multi Color Light Strip - Mounting Location?
I bought this simple LED Multi Color Light Strip from Amazon (Link below) and I'm trying to figure out where to mount it. I'm going to mount it in the wall / ceiling corner but I'm not sure if it would look better if it was mounted on the wall so it lights up more of the ceiling as it's shining outward or if I should mount it on the Ceiling so it lights up more of the wall as it's shining downward.
NOTE: I will be installing this in a bedroom (for sizing reference).
1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling3 years agoInternet Router DNS Address Questions?
Is it better to have more than just two DNS servers in my DNS Address setting for my internet router? Currently I have only OpenDNS servers in there. I also don’t have my ISP’s servers entered. Is it better to add, say... Google’s servers also in case OpenDNS is having issues with theirs?
-
Second Question: What DNS servers do you find the fastest? I’ve heard mixed reviews on Google and OpenDNS. Some saying that Google is faster, and others saying that OpenDNS is faster.
-
Third Question: In what order should I put them in as far as priority goes?
Thanks

2 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police5 years agoHelicopter Tail Rotors?
If you look at some helicopters, they have a tail rotor in the back. Others just have "wings".
Is one necessarily 'better' than the other, do they operate differently etc. ?
A company near me recently got new Eurocopters which now I think are Airbuses and i think they've said that the one without the tail rotor is safer and that makes sense, but I was just wondering if one is safer than the other or operates differently etc. And if the following applies: Which one is better?
Thanks

I have a little led light that screws onto a sink water faucet. (See link below.)
And the threads are on the inside of the original aerator. I need them on the outside for the LED light to be able to screw on as the threads on that are on the outside.
- Is there anything I can get to invert the threads so I can make it work?
