  • How do I get rid of my dry skin?

My skin has always been combination, I get an oily forehead and nose, my chin is quite sensitive and my cheeks are normal. I sometimes also get dry skin.

I recently had an allergic reaction to something, I haven't quite figured what it was yet. But since then my skin has been even more dry than normal and really flaky. I exfoliate about 3 times a week. I moisturise every day too.

Has anyone got any product recommendations to fix this, or any other advice? Home remedies are welcome also.

  • Any good documentaries on snakes?

My friend has a phobia of snakes and I've promised to try help her to get over it. So I'm looking for an informative documentary about how they live and function, I'm not looking for a documentary on 'the world's most dangerous snakes' which is gonna throw her off altogether.

I have a pet corn snake at home which I'm hoping she'll eventually be able to meet, but she wants to learn more about them first.

  • Zebra finch plucking feathers from her cagemate?

I have two female zebra finches, and one of them keeps plucking feathers from the other ones back between her wings.

I have gone through a few possibilities and have been providing her with plenty of nesting material, in case she's taking them to build a nest. I've been giving them extra sources of calcium, and feeding bits of veg and herbs like parsley in case she's deficient in something.

Then I'm wondering if maybe it's because the cage is too small. It's not tiny, but it's not huge either. And am I encouraging her to pluck feathers by providing them with a nest and nesting material? She's been laying eggs too.

This is driving me nuts, as the poor other little female looks terrible with her bald back. It seems she's being bullied a bit too because she's skinnier than the one who's plucking her.

What do you guys think it could be?

  • How will Ireland do against France in tomorrow's World Cup playoff?

I'm hoping for a draw at least, although 1-0 to Ireland would be great :)

  • What will I wear to a Green Day concert?

I'm going to a Green Day concert on Wednesday and I don't know what to wear! I'm probably gonna be older than most of the other people, cause I'm 20, but I think I'd like to wear something a bit nicer than just jeans and a t-shirt..

    Any suggestions?

I've got time to go shopping if I need to, but even better if I have the clothes already!!

  • How does someone just fall out of love?

My boyfriend broke up with me because he 'just doesn't feel the same' about me anymore.

I'm absolutely devastated, and I can't understand after everything we've been through and done together in the past year how he can just not feel the same for me as I do for him?

  • Things to do/see in Manchester?

I'm going to Manchester next week for 6 days, any suggestions on what to do while I'm over there?

I'm already going to see Pearl Jam, and we're going to go to see Old Trafford on another day.

What I'm looking for I suppose is fun things to do to fill up the rest of the week. Any theme parks nearby, nice places to eat out, interesting museums etc?

  • Coldwater fish picking on each other?

I just started a cold water fish tank, and at the moment I have 5 similar sized fish. I have 1 goldfish, 2 sarassa comets, 1 shubunkin and a butterfly koi, and I've just noticed that the shubunkin is picking on the koi, even though the koi is slightly larger. Why is this, and how can I stop it?

  • Why is my Zebra finch bald?

I got two female zebra finches a few weeks ago, and all of a sudden one of them is balding on her head and underneath her beak.

Is this most likely to be one picking on the other, or should I be concerned for her health?

  • On pill for the first time but bleeding?

I've started taking the pill for the first time, and I started taking it on the first day of my period, but I've been bleeding slightly all month. Is this normal? I'm almost finished the packet, I just have tomorrow's pill to take before my 7 day break.

  • My Dwarf Hamster has a tumor..?

We brought our dwarf hamster to the vet two weeks ago with a lump on her stomach. The vet said it was a cyst and lanced it and put her on antibiotics. We brought her back again this week because it had filled up again, and it turns out it is a tumor. He took a scalpel to it this time and gave us more antibiotics.

Up until our last visit, the lump didn't seem to be bothering her, but since she visited the vet, she's been sleeping alot and moving around a lot more slowly than normal with her eyes closed. I thought it might have been the loss of blood that was making her tired. She hasn't been eating either up until about half an hour ago when she took a small amount of broccolli from me.

Her heart also seems to be beating alot faster than normal, and this is visible just by looking at her.

Is this the tumor having an effect on her, or has anyone got any ideas?

The vet said that she wouldn't survive an operation to remove the tumor.

  • Any ideas for a good 18th?

My 18th birthday is coming up soon, but I've no idea what to do for it. If I can't think of anything more imaginative, I'll probably just end up having a party in a pub.

I want there to be a good few people there, but not too many either. I don't want it to get out of hand.

But if anyone has any alternative ideas I'd love to hear!

  • How can I get a part-time job working with animals? Do I need qualifications?

I'm just after doing my Leaving Certificate, and I've deferred my place at college for one year. I really love animals and I'd love to spend my year working with them. I've rang all my local pet shops, dog boarding kennels and even veterinary clinics, but none of them have any job vacancies for me. I also rang the dog warden, willing to volunteer for experience but he said something about needing insurance as it's a dangerous job. Please help, I want to get a job as soon as possible!
