How do you clean burnt caramel from a sauce pan?
My first attempt to make caramel apples with my little girl and the candy thermometer never reached temperature. Long story short...it burnt. The pan is a mess. Any ideas would be appreciated.( I tried it again using another pan and no thermo...came out perfect! )
2 AnswersCleaning & Laundry1 decade agoWhat's safest to give your dog, cooked or raw bones?
I tried the raw food diet after the dog food recall and she took to it but it was just too complicated. I've gone back to reg commercial food and now it's getting harder to feed her regular kibble..she just turns her nose up. She'll take take to bones of course and wonder about splintering. I've watched her eat and chew through cooked beef rib bones. She's a good chewer and haven't been too concerned about her taking in something too big to swallow. She's a mix - cocker, papillon, 11 mos. Any thoughts out there?
10 AnswersDogs1 decade agoFeeding your dog a raw diet vs cooked meat? What's best?
I'm making the switch to feed my dog homemade dog food and am reading alot about feeding raw. Any other pros and cons out there. Other differences are whether to feed vegetables and grains. I'm reading 60% meat, 20% grain, 20% veg. These numbers keep changing! What is the right combination?
8 AnswersDogs1 decade agoThe difference between dog travel crates and night time crates?
Is there a difference? Our puppy is sleeping in a travel crate overnight. I'm wondering if I need to get a bigger one or one with more ventilation. She can barely stand up...just enough room to turn around. When she trys to get comfortable it's quite a process. Middle of the night comfy process is getting more and more noisy. I have a pillow, blanket and her cuddly toy. Also, what about her getting too hot in the crate. I'm still learning about using a crate. I'm hoping we can get to a point where she will sleep in a bed in our room and I won't have to worry about her wondering about the house. Puppies...got love em..like being a Mom again!
5 AnswersDogs1 decade agoHow do I know if I have enough oxygen in the water in my aquarium?
We have a fresh water tank...46 gal, aprx 3 weeks old. We purchased Danios to condition the tank and one just died. We also just added plants and a new rock within the last week. The bubbles in the tank seem massive and we can't turn them down. We've left them off for a week and wondered if perhaps this is the reason the Danio died.
9 AnswersFish1 decade agoI have a 6 month old puppy and have been training her the basic commands; sit, lay down, stay, off, heal etc..
She's doing well and is learning quickly. My problem is staying out of a specific area of the house. She always wants to be with me. We have an area borded off with plywood about 3 feet hight that she can clear easily and jumps over whenever I give her the stay command. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When I scold her she hides and won't come to me. It's seems to be a constant battle. Question: Do we continue with the barrier or take it down and just let her come back with me to this part of house? (It's our bedrooms and formal living room.) We've been putting her in her kennel when she jumps over and disobeys, but I don't want the kennel to be punishment. Help!
