  • Present for nerdy guy?

I'm trying to think of a present to get for a guy friend. He's pretty nerdy - into D&D and Magic: The Gathering, computers and such. He loves the Forgotten Realms books, especially the Drizzt series, but he has most of them and I don't have a way of finding out which ones he doesn't have. He has a lot of things like D&D miniatures and stuff like that. Any ideas on a gift I can get him that will go along with his interest but that he probably wouldn't already have?

  • How to use Mafia Wars toolbar in FB with two users on a computer?

I share a computer with another person who also plays Mafia Wars. We both want to be able to use the Mafia Wars toolbar for Facebook to get the mini energy buff, but I can't figure out how to get it to work for both of us. Anyone know how to get this to work?

  • Any way to connect TiVo through computer or cellphone?

I need to connect my TiVo (Series 2) to get program information, but my apartment building administration won't give me the password for the wireless Internet. I don't have a phone line. Is there any way to connect TiVo through a laptop (with wireless access) or somehow through a cell phone?

  • "Buffy" episodes to show people who haven't seen the show before?

I've convinced a few friends who've never seen Buffy before to watch a few episodes with me in honor of Halloween. They need to be fairly one-shot episodes because I don't want to get too bogged down in running storylines. I'm definitely choosing "Hush," but I can't decide which other episodes to choose.

Suggestions for quality episodes that don't require explanation, which would hook new watchers?

  • Is there a Web site for alcoholic drink suggestions?

My friends and I are looking to branch out our alcohol selections because we all have one particular drink we like that we always order. Is there a Web site someplace where you can input the drinks you like and it will make suggestions for other things you might like?

On a related note, any suggestions for someone who loves amaretto sours?

  • Ideas for a scary haunted carnival?

An organization I'm in is planning a haunted carnival for a Halloween haunted house. We have a good amount of space and several people to use as characters. Any ideas for scary things we should do for the carnival? We have some money in the budget, but not a ton so no ideas that would cost thousands to execute. Thanks!

I'm bored. Any recommendations for amusing blogs to surf? Blogs I currently read include failblog.org, icanhascheezburger, ugliesttattoos.com, 11points.com, passiveagressivenotes.com and awkwardfamilyphotos.com. Anything along these lines that's worth a look?

  • Is Guitar Hero Metallica appropriate for young teens?

The kids want this game - they're 13 and 14 and love Metallica, though I don't let them listen to all the band's songs. I know the band has some rather profane tunes - are any of them included on this game or is the T rating more due to the nature of their songs, rather than bad language issues?

  • Basic overview books on schizophrenia?

I just found out that my (adopted) sister has a family history of schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder. She has recently been exhibiting some symptoms of schizophrenia. Any suggestions for books I can read that offer an introduction to this disorder that will give an overview of what it is, potential treatments, etc.? Nothing overly technical or long, just something that will give me a bit of an idea of what we may be dealing with and what the future might hold for her and the family as we deal with this?

  • What makes a person seem 'smart'?

When you meet a person, what about them makes you judge them as smart or not? What in their behavior or bearing makes you go, "Oh s/he's intelligent"?

I ask because people have a habit of labeling me as "smart," but I can't figure out how they reached that conclusion. A few days ago at work, a co-worker I've barely ever spoken with called me smart and it doesn't make sense. I work in a call center, so I haven't collaborated on anything with her. I've spoken to her maybe three or four times during the 15 minute breaks.

So, the question is, what about a person would make you decide someone is smart when you've spent less than an hour in their presence?

  • Nora Roberts books that are not suspense?

I hadn't read any Nora Roberts because I don't like and suspense in my romance, but my mom gave me "Taming Natasha"/"Luring a Lady" as a gift, so I had to read it for when she quizzed me later. It turned out to be one of her non-suspense works and I liked it a lot and have read a few more of her books - the four Donovan Legacy books, "Irish Rebel," and "Falling for Rachel"/"Convincing Alex."

My question is, what other books of hers are similar? I'm looking for romance books, but not suspense. I don't want mystery or murders or danger and peril. I'm OK with something like the case Alex was working on in "Convincing Alex" - it was in the background, the reader wasn't supposed to be able to follow clues and find the culprit, or any of that sort of thing.

Any Nora Roberts fans out there who can tell me what some good straight romance books by her are?

  • Uninstall IE upgrade?

What's the easiest way to uninstall the latest upgraded version of Internet Explorer. My grandparents installed the new version on their computer, but they don't like it. Is there a way to just go back to 6.0?

  • What Interet browser would be best for a "senior citizen"?

My grandparents have asked me for my help with their Internet. They had Internet Explorer, but of course, when the message popped up telling her to update to the newest version, my grandma did.

Now, the new version is too complicated for her to use and has some bugs. Is there a way to undo the update? Or, is there a browser that would be easier for a person who isn't at all tech-savvy to use? I use Firefox, but that's because I like all the extra features like tabs and add-ons.

Any suggestions for what would be easiest for them to use would be great. They mostly use internet to check their e-mail and go to major sites like the Weather Channel or CNN. Thank you!

  • Are Mormons really not allowed to have caffeine?

On tonight's episode of The Daily Show, Samantha Bee did a special report about "Is America ready for a Mormon president?" In it she mentioned something about a prohibition against caffeine within the Mormon church. I'd never heard that before. Are Mormons really not allowed to have caffeine?

What is the rational behind that? Is that drawn from something that is in the scripture somewhere? Can anyone explain this to me?

  • What movie is this from?

I remember this scene: A guy is standing at his bathroom sink, brushing his teeth. He brushes for a while, then notices a spot on the sink or the faucet or something, so he scrubs it for a moment with the toothbrush then goes back to brushing his teeth with the now-yicky toothbrush.

Any ideas what it could be from? I asked this question before and some people suggested it could be "Stranger Than Fiction" but I know it's not that because the scene is not in the trailer and I've never seen the movie.

If anyone could help, I'd be forever grateful (and definitely award the 10 points.) I just keep seeing the scene in my head and it's driving me batty!
