I am a recently married 32-year old woman. My husband and I were virgins when we got married. I want to detect a certain organic compound from extracts of crushed plant leaves. In the past, I have used GC/MS for identifying this compound in the same extracts. However, now I want to quantitate how much is there. I was told that HPLC is a better way to quantitate than GC. I have a series of standards of the compound to make a standard curve. Which is better for quantitation- HPLC or GC and why?

I am a 25 year old woman. I have been a failure in life so far. I started graduate school, but quit in the middle, which was a great disappointment to my family. I have not been able to find a suitable job so far. My current job, I think, is too demanding and I just don't have the brains or the ability to do it. I have no idea what I am going to do for the rest of my life. I would kill myself, but am too frightened to do so. I feel my life is over even before it properly started. Any ideas on how to patch up a miserable, rotten, failed life like mine?
