I get up. I walk. I fall down. Meanwhile, I keep dancing.
I recently read that 2/3 of our meals (U.S.A.) are eaten away from home.?
That seems like a lot. Can anyone give me evidence to support or contradict that figure? How often do you typically eat out?

10 AnswersCooking & Recipes1 decade agoWhat to give a 50-year-old woman?
I've been invited to her b'day party. I don't want to give her another gewgaw to dust. Some others are giving her gag gifts but that's not me. I'd like to come up with collections of 50 things, not too pricey...like 50 M&Ms, for example. What else could I collect 50 of?
10 AnswersEtiquette1 decade agoNutritionist needed! Tea vs. iron...?
I was nearly deferred when I gave blood last week because my iron was so low. Now I'm eating liver and other iron-rich foods, but I read that black or pekoe tea can interfere with the body's metabolizing of dietary iron. I do like my tea. What is the "safe" interval between consumption of iron-rich foods and the drinking of black tea so that iron absorbtion wil not be impeded?
1 AnswerDiet & Fitness1 decade agoMy umbrella cockatoo has become really noisy lately!?
I've had him for 2 years; he came from another family and is a teenager in bird years. The last couple of weeks he has taken to intermittent screaming - sometimes when an unfamiliar man has been in the house, but sometimes for no apparent reason. There's no pattern. Anyone know what's setting him off - and how to shut him up?

1 AnswerDecorating & Remodeling1 decade agoIs anyone else annoyed when stores put out Christmas merchandise in mid-October?
This holiday is already so commercialized that it has lost its charm for me. Stores claim they have to get a head start to stay competetive, but I think that's bogus. I don't want to hear the word "Christmas" until the day after Thanksgiving. How about the rest of you? Am I alone?
36 AnswersOther - Holidays1 decade agoWhy do some users not allow e-mail contact?
Occasionally I would really like to connect with the author of a particular answer, only to find they don't allow contact. I don't want to flame anyone - usually I want to compliment or maybe clarify. I'd like to hear specifically from some of you folks who refuse contact. Why? The rest of you...please sit on your hands. Thanks!
7 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoShould we SEVERELY limit campaign contributions?
...and fund candidates with public money, limit commercial air time, and restrict campaigns to the 90 days prior to elections? Would that help level the playing field, which now allows only those with family fortunes to stake them? And would it help to elect candidates on some basis other than image?

Someone asked about ladettes last week but nothing in her question indicated what they were. It's not a word in the dictionary. Can anybody explain? Thanks!

We've been there over 4 years, we've spent billions, and yet people in Bagdhad still only have power for four hours a day, and they're saying things are worse than when Saddam was in power. Who can explain this state of affairs?
5 AnswersOther - Politics & Government1 decade agoDoes anyone have peripheral neuropathy?
I was diagnosed with this about 4 years ago. I understand it has no known cause and no cure. However, aside from a little numbness on the skin of my feet, I have NO symptoms. Can anyone tell me what to expect in future?
2 AnswersOther - Health1 decade agoProblem with exterior door?
My front door is heavy wood. I have stained and polyurethaned it several times but it never lasts. Now it's chipped and peeling again. It has too many panels to be able to sand it. Any suggestions for removing the old finish and applying a finish that will last? Should I give up on staining and just paint it?
