  • How do get rid of water under the carpet in my car?

My car had a hole in the bumper which I believe was letting water in. Strangely enough only the floorboard behind the passenger was wet. I soaked up the 1/4in or so of standing water and have gotten the carpet somewhat dry. However, I can still hear water sloshing around under the carpet when I press down on it. I'm currently trying to dry it out with a space heat but it isn't working very well. Should I rent and industrial dehumidifier? Suggestions would be much appreciated.

  • Custom betting on NBA futures?

Many online betting sites offer future bets for each team winning the 2011 NBA championship. What I would like to know is if I wanted to make a non standard bet, specifically that the Lakers and Heat both make the 2011 Finals, how would I go about doing that?

  • What would a probability distribution of a categorical random variable look like?

I'm perfectly clear on what categorical data is (red, green, blue), (good, moderate, bad) but I'm not sure what a probability distribution of a categorical random variable would look like. Also, would it make more sense to focus on the expected value or the standard deviation of a categorical random variable?

  • Accessing data on a drive that's infected...?

I recently discovered a trojan had found it's way into both my C and and external hard drive. What I would like to do is plug the external drive into an uninfected computer, scan the data with various programs, then move said data across so I can reformat the two infected drives. I'm concerned that plugging the external drive into the clean computer will transfer malware to it. If I understand correctly, there's a way to install the external hard drive as non-bootable so only the data can be access but programs cannot be run from there? I'm a bit fuzzy on how this works. Your assistance is greatly appreciated!

I hadn't used the printer in about a year so I'm wondering if the ink dried up? Not sure what could be causing the problem. It is a Dell 920 Deskjet.

  • Is there a way to repair my hard disk?

My computer was freezing up forcing me to shut it off manually. Upon rebooting it would freeze up for extended periods of time. I used DISKPART to delete the partitions, then I created new partitions and reformatted them. I ran hard drive diagnostic from the boot menu and the drive passed. I used CHKDSK and it came back with no bad sectors. However, when I try to boot from the CD drive with either Windows Server 2003 or XP Home Edition, the setup files are loaded but when windows is starting, the blue screen of death hits before it gets to the desktop. None of the tests I've run indicate a problem with the drive but for whatever reason, It blows up everytime I try to install an operating system. Any recommendations on how to make it work or is it shot?

  • Can't get you tube clips downloaded with ZillaTube to drag and drop for conversion?

I'm able to download the clips just fine but once they're on my desktop and I try to drag them into the drag/drop box of ZillaTube I get the cancel circle with a slash through it sign. Not sure if it has any bearing on this but I'm running vista. The files are listed as .flv but no program on my comp seems to be able to run them (they won't open with media player). Any help is appreciated.
