best low carb pressure cooker chicken breast recipe?
Looking for the best pressure cooker chicken breast recipe that is no or low carb. My wife and I just got a pressure cooker for Christmas and I'm trying to learn how to use it and get some good recipes. I've made some basic chicken breast already in it (coating in olive oil and other herbs and spices, Browning it then coming it and it came out awesome) but liking for a new and interesting recipe. Any advice is appreciated!
2 AnswersCooking & Recipes7 years agoHow much cost to put new plumbing in a single story house?
My fiance and I are looking for our first house and found a relatively new house (built in 95) that is a foreclosure. We should be able to get it for dirt cheap, and the house inspection only revealed the lack of plumbing (either the guy who lived in the house before took it when he got kicked out, or someone came along later and stole the copper).
Regardless, if we do decide to pull the trigger on the house we're going to have to fix this. I've never done it before, and I've got several family members who are very handy with this stuff and we can do it ourselves. So we'd have to just pay for the materials and nothing else.
Like I said, single floor home, 1,215 sq. ft. with no basement (crawl space) and 2 full bathrooms.
Any idea what we're looking at to get it all fixed?
2 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs8 years agoTook a Drink of Black Coffee With An Extremely Dry Mouth and It Tasted Sweet?
Stupid question, but on Saturday I was completing my final trial for a law school class. I had just given my closing arguments and my mouth was completely dry (as it usually is when I have a little bit of nerves). After I finish, I go to sit down and take a sip of my coffee (which was black with no sweetener or creamer added to it) and it tasted like someone had dumped syrup or honey or something into it. But after the first drink and my moth wasn't dry anymore, it tasted like regular old coffee.
Anyone know why this is?
2 AnswersNon-Alcoholic Drinks8 years agoNew Country Song-Come get it or Come Get some...something like that?
I heard a song on the radio today where the chorus said "come get some..." or "come and get some" or something along those lines. It's a guy singer and it had a poppy kind of sound to it. It's the first time I've heard it and my radio never said the name of the song or singer and i'm trying to figure out what it is. Anyone have any ideas?
1 AnswerCountry8 years agoAir Force JAG - Chances of Getting In and Suggestions?
Can anyone give me any pointers and possibly asses the chances of my getting into Air Force JAG...I know that it's really selective and I'm not planning on getting a commission, but I've been thinking about this for a long time and have my interview in 1 week. Here's what I've got.
Don't go to a particularly good law school, and my grades place me in the top half (but not top 25%).
I am the brief writer for my moot court team and the brief scored in the top10% at our competition last semester.
I'm on the Moot Court Honor's board.
In Phi Delta Phi
Have nothing negative that has happened or I have done in the past besides a few warning citations for traffic violations. (never taken any illegal drugs, etc.)
Have 4 really good LOR's 2 from law school professors, the prosecutor from my hometown who I've interned with the last two summers, and my high school football coach. The two law school professors talked about how I was a top performer in my legal writing/ap. ad. class, the prosecutor just spoke about my work ethic and ability to follow instructions and my character, and my H.S. football coach always told me that I was the hardest worker he's ever coached in his 25+ years of coaching, and the letter reflected that.
My grandpa was in the Air Force, which I mentioned in my Motivational statement.
I went to a very good jesuit college and graduated with a decent GPA (3.4 +)
Played 1 year of college football
I have completed over 120 hours of community service during my time in law school
So my question is, will the fact that I go to a crappy law school and don't have top grades cancel out the rest of this stuff? Also, what can I expect in the interview? I really, really want this job because I've always wanted to serve but it just hasn't "fit" into the plan that I had for my academic career. Now that my academic career is coming to an end, I am going to pursue this with everything I have.
Additionally, this isn't necessarily something that I want to do for 4 years and then get out. I would seriously consider making this my career, or spending at least 10-15 years doing this if I can get a commission.
Any suggestions/advice is appreciated!
2 AnswersMilitary9 years agoCost to Replace 05 GMC Canyon PCM & is it Still OK to Drive?
Hey everyone,
I've been searing the internet for these answers with no success. But today I think I noticed, for the first time, my PCM is dying. I drive a 2005 GMC Canyon with 88,800 miles on it. Today I was driving, and I came up to a redlight. I almost came to a stop then the light turned green so I eased on teh gas to speed up, then the truck shut off in the middle of the road.
Tried to turn the truck on and got nothing, so I put it in neutral and coasted until I was off the road. Got out to check under the hood and see if any fluid was leaking and didn't notice anything...no smell/smoke/fluid. So I got back in the truck and tried to start it again and it fired right up and ran fine. I had a check engine light so I immediately took it to Auto Zone to have them run a computer scan. It threw a P0601 code-Control Module ROM Fault. The lady who ran the computer didn't know what this meant, and neither did I.
After doing some research on the internet, I think it's a bad PCM. I'm going to call a GM dealer tomorrow to ask about it, but I'm worrying myself to death. I'm a law student and don't have a lot of money to spend on a truck repair (but I will get it fixed because I really depend on this truck).
So basically, my question is how much does it typically cost to get this repaired, and is it still OK to drive for another week or so until I'm able to get it fixed?
Thanks!
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoAir Force JAG Weight Requirement?
I have an interview in about 2 months with the Air Force JAG.
I was perusing the information and found that someone my height has a weight requirement of 191 lbs. (I'm assuming that's a maximum). I, however, weigh about 215-220. Now, I am not fat at all. I am a former high school/college full back, and have some muscle mass and regularly do heavy lifting at the gym. Granted, I do need to lose about 20 lbs, because I have gained a few lbs during law school, but I'm still in good shape. I run at least 2 miles a day, and lift weights 4-5 days a week.
I'm just curious how strictly the Air Force JAG abides by this weight requirement. Surely they understand the differences in body compositions and whatnot. But when I saw that, the first thing I thought was, "holy crap, I've gotta lose 30 lbs in about a month and a half!" I can drop 20 lbs pretty quick... I would say that I can easily get down to 200 by mid-way through november...but I'm still curious about how strictly they hold applicants to this guideline.
Thanks!
Military9 years agoPaid for Direct TV Sports Pack, and am only getting 20 of the 36 advertised Channels?
Hey everyone,
I just purchased the sports pack on DirecTV. I signed up for it on Sunday and it was credited to my bill and I've been watching some of the channels the past couple of days.
The basic reason I bought the package was because it said it included Root Sports Pittsburgh. I'm a Pirates fan so I was looking forward to being able to watch Pirates games (I live in Southwest Va.) Also, I am a die-hard WVU fan, and with the move to the Big 12, Root Sports Pittsburgh will be picking up many of the games. So I was more than willing to pay the 12 bucks to get this channel, as well as a number of other sports channels.
However, today I went to watch the Pirates game, and changed it to Root Sports Pittsburgh, and it said I was not subscribed. I got a little suspicious, and got on the DirecTV site and looked at the list of programs included in the sports pack and tested all of them. Out of the 36 channels that are advertised as being included in the package, I have 20 of them. 16 of the channels that are listed as included in the package says that I am not subscribed when I go to the channel. I'm pretty ticked off. I've been a customer for over 2 years, and just recently cancelled my Protection Plan in order to save some money (I'm a broke law school student) and to sort of cancel out the extra 12 bucks that I was going to be spending on the package. I am a little hesitant to call because it says that the protection plan includes free technical/customer support and I don't know if that means calling the 24 hour help line, or if it just refers to actual house calls.
So can someone give me some advice? Is there some fine print I'm missing here that would have warned me that I'd not get 16 channels that are advertised as part of the package? And if I don't have the Protection Plan, will they charge me if I call to see what the deal is? Could my location be a reason why I don't get these 16 channels?
Thanks in advance, and sorry for the rambling. I'm a little worried about missing my WVU games!
3 AnswersOther - Electronics9 years agoWells Fargo Has Had a Hold On My Last Deposit for Over a Week?
I deposited a $7,000 check in my account at Wells Fargo on Monday of last week. On Thursday I got on my account and noticed that the money was not in my accounts, so I ran down to the bank and asked what was up. They said that the check was on hold. It's now tuesday, and the check is still not in my account. I'm getting ticked because as a student, I depend on that money to pay my rent and for groceries. I've been waiting to go buy groceries for over a week now, and this is getting to be ridiculous.
I know that banks say they hold checks to make sure they clear, but this is a student loan check. Why is it taking so long for it to clear??? Is there anything that I can do to get the bank to clear the check so I can actually go buy food?
4 AnswersPersonal Finance9 years agoRemedies for a Sore/Stiff Neck?
Hey everyone,
Wednesday Morning I slept wrong and woke up with a stiff neck. My fiance came down to visit for my birthday, and later wednesday morning I was sitting on the couch watching espn while she was studying for an exam she has coming up. She had her feet on one of my barstools, and she accidentally knocked it over...as I saw the bar stool getting ready to fall, I tensed up and I felt a sharp pain shoot from my neck down to my left shoulder. Since my fiance is a physical therapist, she worked on my neck a little and it felt a lot better yesterday. But I woke up this morning and it's extremely sore and tight. My fiance went home yesterday, so I'm sitting here with my neck wrapped in a heat pad trying to get it to loosen up.
Does anyone have anything that they do for a sore/stiff neck?
2 AnswersPain & Pain Management9 years agoHoneymoon Options that Are Reasonably Priced?
Hey Everyone,
About 2 weeks ago, I proposed to my girlfriend of nearly 8 years, and thankfully she said yes! ;)
We already have our wedding location and date set. We both graduated from a small Jesuit university in northern West Virginia, and were able to reserve a farm that the school owns and uses for religious retreats as our location for the wedding. We are going to have an outside, fall wedding because both of us love the fall months, and the farm is absolutely beautiful that time of year. The school graciously is letting us use the farm for free. (That has absolutely nothing to do with my question, but I'm extremely excited about that so I had to mention it...haha).
But my fiance asked me where I wanted to go for our honeymoon. I quickly answered "I want to go to a West Virginia University football game!" (I'm a die-hard fan...haha) unfortunately, however, she said no. lol.
But in all seriousness, both of us would love to go on a cruise because neither of us has ever been on one. I would love to go to the Virgin Islands as well. My fiance has just graduated from Physical Therapy school and has a great job that she will be starting in about 2 weeks. I am currently in my last year of Law school, so needless to say, both of us will be looking at significant loans that we will be responsible for paying back. My fiance should be able to pay off most, if not all of her loans this year from working. I, on the other hand, will graduate from law school with significant loans to pay off myself, (and we have a pretty good plan to get rid of those loans within 5 or so years if things work out as we hope they do, because we both want to start a family, and don't want to have loan payments take away from the money we can spend on raising our family) so we want to have an amazing and memorable honeymoon, but not have to pay an arm and a leg.
So does anyone know of any ideas? Like I said, we would like to go on a cruise, and I would love to have a cruise that will take us to the Virgin Islands.
Thank you in advance!
And for what it's worth, the wedding isn't until October of next year, so we have plenty of time to figure this stuff out. I just wanted to throw this question out to see if anyone on here has any experience with this or suggestions.
4 AnswersWeddings9 years agoIs The Post Office Jerking Me Around?
Ok, so I'm a 3rd year law student and I have received a free P.O. box from the local post office during my first two years because mail is not delivered to my apartment.
Before leaving for summer break in May, I stopped by the post office and had them forward all of my mail to my home that I was going to be staying at during the summer months until August 13th.
I got back to school, and today went in to renew my P.O. Box and ask about a loan check the school had sent me. I was told that they would not give me the P.O. box for free because mail is delivered to my aparment (which is B.S. There is no box,, and I live on a hill where no one gets mail), and they told me that my Box was closed on July 30th (and they gave me no notice of this...which I figured would be custom practice).
I asked them if they had any mail for me (hoping they had the check that the school sent to me, because I never received it) and they said they had no mail for me and everything they received after July 30th was returned to the sender. I went and checked with the school, and the check had been sent on August 10th to my P.O. Box, and that they had not received a "return to sender" from the post office.
So, I've got the post office refusing to give me my P.O. box for free because they are insisting that mail is delivered to my residence (when it is definitely not), and they closed my P.O. box without giving me any notice, which ultimately resulted in a $1,400 check getting lost. I've got a rent bill due by the end of the week, and have no funds to pay it, since I was depending on that check.
And for the record, I was never given any sort of documentation indicating when my P.O. box would close, so I was essentially left in the dark. I think since I was getting the box for free, they never gave me a document indicating when the box would close.
I'm just extremely frustrated right now, and I would like to know if this is something that the Post Office regularly does, or if I should go raise hell with them. This is the second time within the last year that they have royally pissed me off (they also lost a package that my mom had sent me that had over $200 worth of stuff in it).
5 AnswersOther - Local Businesses9 years agoWhat is that Plastic thing that I see a lot of MLB Players have on their Thumb when Batting?
Not a big baseball fan but I do watch the Pirates when I can. I've noticed a few players wearing a plastic thing around their thumb when batting. Casey McGee is the first one I've noticed that wears it, but I've noticed a few other players that have it too. I can't really explain what it looks like...Its almost like a 2 or 3 in long piece of plastic with a hole in the top for the thumb. What is it, and what purpose does it serve?
I know it's a terrible explanation of it, but I'm sure some hardcore baseball fans will know what I'm talking about.
2 AnswersBaseball9 years agoBeen putting the wrong viscosity of Oil in my truck?
Hey everyone,
I just realized that I have been putting the wrong viscosity (or at least, not the best for my truck) oil in my truck for the past 4 years.
I was given my truck by my grandfather before he passed, and was told that 10w-30 is what was put in the truck. So that's what i've been running since I got the truck. I do the oil changes myself and I'm religious about the changing schedule (never go more than 5,000 without a change, usually at the 3,000-4,000 mile mark).
I was curious so I pulled out my manual (which I should have done a LONG time ago, it the manual calls for 5w-30. If I start running 5w-30 through it on my next change, will it hurt anything since i've been running 10w through for so long?
3 AnswersMaintenance & Repairs9 years agoBest Type of Powerbait for Stocked Trout?
Hey everyone,
Just looking to get some different opinions on the issue. I would like to know what you all think is the best type of powerbait for stocked trout.
I realize that different conditions will lead to different types of bait being the most effective, but I'm just curious what flavors you have had the most luck with.
I do a lot of fishing in a man made lake in norther West Virginia called Conway Lake. They stock a good bit of trout throughout the fall, late winter early spring months. I also do a lot of fishing to WV native Brooke Trout around Spruce Knob, but those guys aren't interested in power bait at all.
But back to the main question...I've had the best luck with Corn Yellow power bait. Also have caught a few on rainbow and Marshmallow White. I'm going to try out the Garlic flavor for the first time tomorrow morning to see how that works out.
So what do you all prefer? Just out of curiosity. Happy Trout Fishing!

2 AnswersSoftware9 years agoPut a Blue Tab in the Back of my Toilet and took 3 months to work?
haha, kind of a stupid question but I'm curious. I usually put those "Bleach and Blue" things in the back of my toilet. However, I put a new set in about 3 months ago, and the water didn't start turning blue when the toilet is flushed like it normally does.
I opened the back of the toilet and it was still in there, but it just wasn't turning the water blue. But a week ago, all of a sudden the water is dark blue when the toilet is flushed.
Again, it's a stupid question but I'm just curious as to why that happened. It sat there in the back of the toilet for 3 months before the water started turning blue.
1 AnswerCleaning & Laundry9 years agoWhy has my dog started pooping in the house again?
Hey everyone,
I have a 2 1/2 year old beagle who has been house trained since before he was one. He's been good about not going in the house for over a 1 1/2 years less a few rare accidents.
He usually goes at the same time every day. In the morning when we wake up, and in the evening before bed. He always goes in the morning, but he's all of a sudden stopped going outside in the evenings. I'll stand out there for a half hour and he'll just stand there and look at me. Won't sniff or even act like he has to go. So we'll go inside and he goes straight for the carpet and takes a dump. I scold him and take him outside immediately when he does this. But he has done this every night for a week now. Why is he doing this??? the other night I stood out there for about 45 minutes with him and he didn't do anything then comes in the house and squats.
Is he mad about something or what?? I'm in law school and have finals this week so I haven't been paying as much attention to him as I usually do. I'm thinking he may be mad about that or something because I've never had a dog who's done this before.
2 AnswersDogs9 years agoWho Presents the Green Jacket if Someone Wins Masters 2 Years in a Row?
Just curious. I know that it's tradition for the previous year's winner to present the Green Jacket to the Masters' Tournament winner every year, but who will present the jacket next year if Bubba wins again?
I know Nicklaus won it two year in a row back in '64 ad '65, and Tiger did it in '01 and '02.
Never really paid attention. Would it be the last person to win other than the two-time winner? So if Bubba wins again next year, would it be Charl who presents the Jacket again?
Thanks!
3 AnswersGolf9 years agoToo late to establish myself as the "pack leader" with my dog?
Hey everyone,
Before I get started, I will admit that I haven't been the most responsible dog owner. Not in a neglectful sense, but in the sense that I have let my dog get away with too much.
I have a 1 1/2 year old lemon beagle. He really is an awesome dog and I love him to death! But when I first got him, I was determined to establish myself as the pack leader and whatnot. I was doing a decent job, but then I started feeling "guilty" about certain things (letting my dog sleep with me, occasionally setting my plate on the floor to let him lick up what was left) little things like that.
Now he is appearing to act as though he's the pack leader. He has terrible separation anxiety, and now he's getting to a point where if I tell him "no" sometimes he will look right at me and continue to do whatever it was that he was doing, or sometimes give a little bark.
There's no need to ridicule me for allowing my dog to get to this point. I'm fully aware of it. I let myself view my dog as a human and treated him as one. I know that's my fault.
But my question is that how can I break the habits that I've allowed my dog to develop? Is it just persistence? Not letting him sleep in the bed with me? Things like that?
I've started to take him on my jogs with me, so he usually gets at least a 3-4 mile jog about 6-7 days a week.
But has anyone been through a similar situation or have any advice for me? I live in a pretty rural area, and do not have access to a professional dog trainer (otherwise I would probably go that route...However, I am currently in grad school, and over the summer when I return home, I may go ahead and enroll in a class, but that all depends on whether my financial situation will allow it)
Thanks for any advice!
