This is as straightforward as I know how to ask the question. It is something I've never understood. Thanks.

It makes no sense to me.

What kind of traits would that person display? How would a person like that live their life?

I turned on my girlfriend's computer tonight, and the power button stuck, causing it to turn back off about a second later. I waited, then turned it back on. It went through the memory check, and then came up with the error message and windows wouldn't start. Anybody know what it means? I already checked all the BIOS settings, and they're default. Nothing is overclocked. I did notice that the chassis fan read 0 rpm, and the CPU was at 50 C. Anyone have any guesses?

Atheists pretty much have to, since presidential candidates are almost always Christians. But what about Christians, would you vote for a president if you agreed with all of his policies, but he was not a Christian?

An area of boozology I'm weak on.

November, 2007: The Large Hadron Collider at CERN is turned on. Despite the astronomical odds against it, the LHC begins producing micro black holes at the rate of one per second. Equally unlikely, Hawking radiation turns out to be incorrect, and the micro black holes are stable. They are pulled towards the center of the earth, where they coalesce in to a larger black hole. The technicians at CERN turn the LHC off, but it's too late. The news goes out all over the world: we all have fifteen minutes to live before the black hole reaches critical mass and the earth implodes at the speed of light.

Fifteen minutes pass, and nothing happens. Twenty minutes. An hour. Finally, two hours pass, and our death sentence is revoked. For some reason that physicists don't yet understand, the black hole has evaporated.

For two hours, everyone on earth believed that they were about to die.

What effect do you think this would have on our society? On religion? On you personally?

Do you ever thumbs-down them just because it's easier than scrolling all the way back up through their answer?

I've always been a slacker. I've always been too afraid and too lazy to do the thing I truly want to do in life--the thing I truly love. I also complain that there's not enough time, yet I spend time answering questions on this site every day. I know I'm not one of the R&S celebrities, but I've spent hours here.

Is there anyone else out there like me? Any undisciplined slackers? Any do-nothing dreamers? Anyone who thinks they have the potential to do something amazing and wonderful, yet they somehow just haven't gotten around to it yet? I'm sure that there are some people in here that are doing what they love, and good for them. Keep it up. But I wonder if there's anyone like me who feels like they're too busy to do what they really wish they were doing right now.

I know this sounds cornball and strange, and I expect some cynical replies. That's fine, I can take it. If it helps one other person start pursuing their dream, it'll be worth it.

Why do you believe what you believe? What reasoning do you use to justify it to yourself, or to others?

...would you prefer it to be an amusement park with free rides and no lines, or a giant library with every book ever written, and nice, comfy chairs? Or something else?

Do you think it's a state of altered consciousness? Something supernatural? A complete fabrication? A form of psychosis? Something else entirely?

Is there some way to email them? I've already tried the only feedback option I was able to find, but got a message back saying, "we are unable to respond to feedback, but we'll read your message..." or some such.

Or a pile of nonsensical contradictions? If you believe it would be a coherent philosophy, what might it be like?

Or do we impose or infer order in our surroundings to better understand our experience? Or is there another possibility?
