There is a 4X4 support under my deck that is rotting on the bottom, not sunk into the asphalt and is in the wrong place. I plan to add a 4X4 pressure treated beam and want to sink it into the ground (and add some concrete). I could hack away at the asphalt with my pick axe, but I wonder if there are any tricks to doing this more easily (like heating it up first). What do you think?

Carpal tunnel syndrome is a weakening of the wrist from repetitive motion; I have the same thing in the heel of my foot (from hauling old concrete around for a few weeks last summer). Lots of healing has occured, but 8 months after the injury the bottom of my heel is still numb. Anyone had a similar experience?

It is not Plantar Fasciitis; been there, done that (twice).

Palestinian government workers are demanding to be paid, but there's no money. So they are protesting and all Hamas can do is stall, and now they've killed seven with guns and a hand grenade. I think they are huge hypocrites after crying for years that Israel oppresses them, now they are doing the same thing to their "fellow" palestinians.

I think they are done; Al Aqsa Brigade has ordered Hamas leaders killed. Will Hamas still be leading the country next fall?

I got a new computer (Hooray!) and have noticed that XP won't read all of my old files (yet) that Win98SE read. I did find a download for ".art" files, but it was for Win 2000 so I didn't try it.

A link would be appreciated, especially to a microsoft site.

If I encourage it with the plunger, it drains fast until the water is gone. When I turn on the tap again, the drain is slow again. When I disconnect the drain, the sink drains into a bucket fast. When I took out the trap plug, it drained fast. Put it back together and then it's slow once again.

Please don't say "Call a plumber"; I get that. I just wanted to know if anyone has had a funny slow drain like this before, where it will drain fast if it gets a sinlge pulse with a plunger then return to slowness.

Every August I stop watching the Red Sox because they can't beat anybody. Why is it that way every year? Am I missing something?

We got an offer from Verizon (near Philly) to switch and it's less than the DSL we have with them now. Getting the phone upgraded as well sounds like a win-win. Comments or Experiences?

I did not see any dividend or earning per share listed for EADS.PA, the parent of Airbus (in Yahoo Finance, of course!); while they are not required to comply with Sarbaines-Oxley, I still think they would want to advertise these attributes to induce more stock purchases.

IF they are not actually paying out any dividend, what is the point of holding the stock? It certainly isn't going to see any dramatic growth, like a dot-com stock. Also, France OWNS 15% of the stock, Spain 5% and Germany a chunk as well; if these stocks don't pay out, aren't they just interest free loans?

We have two Siberian Forest Cats. We got them because my son is allergic to other cats. He got near the Siberians and had no reaction and we've had two of them for two years now with no problem (and no medicine). Some web sites claim >no< difference, but we have noticed it.
