Aging isn't fun, but it beats the alternative. Still, I hate the changes. Loss of strength, declining eyesight, dry skin, stress incontinence, wrinkles. While I don't miss monthly menses, I'm thinking it was a small price to pay for all the benefits of hormones my ovaries used to produce.

I'm just venting. Care to add your two cents?

Is it "Black Velvet" or something else? I can't believe I don't know this!

I need to purchase privacy curtains for a 10 x 12 gazebo. (I need only two sides). I'd like the kind that zip or velcro closed. I cannot find that size. Any suggestions?

There is a restaurant around here that serves awesome frozen strawberry margaritas. I just got a new Margaritaville frozen concoction maker and I'm looking for a really good recipe....hopefully one that tastes like the ones at Mad Mex.

ANY frozen Margarita recipe would be appreciated. Know any? Also, what are good Tequilas and Triple Sec brands for a decent price?

My husband is retired. I am not. He's 55 and I'm 48.

We were thinking it might be better to do the IRA in his name, since he would have access to the money sooner than I would (without a penalty). Last year, our banker said retired individuals could not do an IRA. This year a financial planner told us my could. Can he? And if so, can he even if I do not do my own IRA?

We plan on doing $5000. It would increase this year's tax return by $600.

I realize it has to do with absorption, but why does food interfere with the medication?

Me...Pennsylvania....about 35 miles north/east of Pittsburgh. About 7 inches so far.

Vet doctor prescibed Prozac for my cat. What side effects can I expect my cat to have?

I've seen products like Cat Calm. I've read about Cat Nip, too. Do these (or any) products effectively prevent anxiety or stress in a cat?

Please take the time to read through this. I am trying to do what is best for my cat and need help.

Fist, I HAVE taken her to two veterinary doctors.

Nine year old Female. Short hair. Spayed. She lives exclusively indoors. Her litter mate lives with us and I have two German Shepherd dogs. All female. We've all been together for 4 years. I feed her top quality food only. (Solid Gold Katz-n-Flocken). She always has fresh water. I have two litter boxes and use Tidy Cat Multi Cat clumping.

Symptoms: sudden behavior change of urinating outside her litter box. She cries while she is looking for a place to urinate (laundry basket, towel on the floor used to clean mud off dogs feet, and dog's toy box). She does not seem to have a frequent urge to urinate. This is a NEW behavior and NOT every time she needs to urinate. She nearly always uses the litter box.

She has always puked but it seems more often now. The vomit seems to be mostly food and hair. I see NO bile.

The first doctor did a bladder ultrasound and said her bladder wall was thickened. She prescribed three days of antibiotics and PROZAC, saying that this condition is almost always associated with stress & anxiety. She was not able to obtain a urine sample.

We gave her the antibiotic but not the Prozac because we are simply not convinced about the anxiety. There have been no changes in our household that would cause anxiety or stress. However, she still looks for inappropriate places to urinate.

So, we took her to another vet doctor who also could not get a urine sample and agreed with the first doctor--most likely cause is stress & anxiety.

So.... I'm thinking I should try two things:

First, fur ball treatment

Second, something for anxiety

I'd like advice about good brands for both. I am very picky about what I give my animals. Also, if you can provide any other insite about this situation, please do so.

The immediate hourse following any disaster is critical to the victims. However, there is always a delay in aid because it takes time to organize the response. This delay costs lives. I'm thinking the U.N. should develope a "rapid response" team that is ready to move at a moment's notice. Supplies ready and people on standby.

How do you think this would work? Is there a reason it would not?

Maybe we should put the idea to our elected officials WORLDWIDE.

I cannot imagine living the nightmare the Haitians are experiencing.
