  • Question on Eagle Claw Kung Fu?

A friend of mine said it was a pussy martial art (he has been an international TKD champion, and is experienced in other martial arts as well) and he isn't the type of a$$hole who says pussy and thinks he's a badass. I asked him why and he said to explain he'd have to write a novella. Are there any reasons why Eagle Claw Kung Fu is so bad? I was thinking of picking it up...

    Thanks!

  • View on the iraq war?

it is my opinion, that it isn't for us to decide whether we should be in iraq or not

unless you're in the service, or living in iraq, you don't feel the effects. you aren't risking your life on a daily basis. you don't REALLY know what's going on, and whether people appreciate it. you only hear the biased reports from news stations and newspapers. yes, a family member may die, and you do feel the emotional pain. I am saddened for you, yet there is a quote I'd like to share..."sacrifices must be made for the greater good". i'm not trying to be cold blooded, but think about it...in EVERY case of something good happening, there is something bad happening as well.

Therefore, it is my opinion that to truly decide whether the war should continue, a vote should be taken by the soldiers and the people feeling the effects in the middle east.

    does anyone agree with this?

  • Help me define proof?

    my science teacher proposed something...confusing

he almost said there's no such thing as proof

    it went something like this...

"prove to me there is a desk here"

    "i can see it"

"how does that prove it's here?"

    "you're touching it"

"how does that prove it's here?"

i need a good definition of proof, because my teacher has a point. Proof seems to only be limited to the mindset we have that "if i can see it, i'll believe it". what is the actual scientific definition?

  • A paradox about God =OOO?

If God is all mighty and powerful, could He create a rock He couldn't lift???

Oh and btw, God isn't perfect. It's impossible to be perfect. To be perfect, you must be perfect at imperfections. Yet, if you're imperfect then you can't be perfect. Do you think that my logic is reasonable? Like, I believe that it's possible to be perfect in a certain aspect...but not perfect in every way.

  • Is it true that there are no Japanese Jujitsu tournaments?

I heard there are no Japanese Jujitsu tournaments because unlike BJJ, it was made to kill, not to be a sport. Is this actually true?

  • Another martial arts question?

I know, I've been posting a lot of them. thanks for all the replies!

ok this one is, between tae kwon do and jujitsu, which will fare better in a real fight against someone who doesn't know martial arts?

keep in mind i have a smaller body type

  • Jujitsu vs Judo vs Tae Kwon Do?

Let me lay down some facts...

    A) I'm 5'10"-5'11" tall

    B) I weigh 120 lbs but plan on gaining more, realistically about 10 lbs over the summer

    C) I'm half Japanese, so naturally I have a smaller body type than other people who are 5'10"

    D) I'm a guy (I'm not sexist, but sometimes sex can matter in things)

    E) I'm skinny, but have a higher than average speed (say on a 1-10 scale, 5 being the average, I'm a 7)

I'm going to take a martial art, and I'm pretty sure it's going to be either jujitsu, judo, or tae kwon do. Taking into consideration what I said above, which martial art would be the best for me, and why? I would REALLY appreciate it if you went to some degree of detail why. Please list how you know what you do, even if it's something like "i have a friend who does (martial art)". I appreciate ALL answers.

In addition, if there were three exact copies of me (weight, height, speed, senses, etc. are all equal), and they all had to fight, who would the winner be and why? This would be in 1v1 fights, NOT 1v1v1.

LASTLY, if there are any superior martial arts please tell me. I realize it is the person who determines how good the martial art is, but the style or tactics of one could be better than the other (I assume).

Once again, thanks a ton for taking the time to read and answer the question!!!!

  • Difference between Brazillian Jujitsu and Japanese Jujitsu?

I'm seriously thinking of taking a martial art. Being Japanese, I naturally want to take the Japanese version, but how much/HOW do they differ? Please explain.

In addition, I've been looking at videos on youtube. So far it seems I only see videos of demonstrations....would jujitsu actually work in a real fight? Dumb question, I know it would work...but how well???

thanks! i'd really appreciate experts commenting on this!

  • Can some JAPANESE martial art experts/students help me out please?

I'm thinking of learning a martial art, and since I'm half Japanese I thought it'd be cool to learn a martial art from my heritage. What's the most effective one? Also, which has the most competitions generally available? I know that there generally sin't one martial art that can do it all, but I am looking for the one which is the best if you had to pick one.

please list your sources! I would really prefer answers from people with long term personal experience only! thanks a ton! =D
