What do you think of a Surprise person at a business lunch?
I was asked out to a lunch yesterday. I showed up and the person was there with a surprise. His boss. Now when I agreed to show up, I was told it would only be the two of us. I would have been fine if she would have said, "oh, and my boss will be there as well". I felt like I was being tag-teamed.
I understand why someone who is trying to sell me something would want to give herself an advantage by having her boss, but how is this okay not to give a warning?
Not really relevant, but she did not pay for lunch.

1 AnswerPersonal Finance8 years agoSame question about tax exempt churches and gay marriage, but now focus on Mormons. Does your answer change?
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Av7Na...
One big difference. Mormon Church does not pay anyone except for providing living costs for any fulltime leaders such as the Prophet, his 2 counselors, 12 apostles, some Seventies, and a few other in administration. But as a whole, you have a ton of folks in the church serving for free. Does your answer change?
13 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoIf a church has tax-exempt status, and refuses to marry a gay couple, should Church lose tax status?
If a gay couple can be married by a judge in a state that allows gay marriage, why should one particular church have to marry the couple.
At the same time, the purpose of tax exempt status is so that churches can take donations and do good. If the government takes away the status, the churches would have less funds to do good. Now, currently, Good will President makes 900k/year. Also, Goodwill sells clothing for almost the same as new Faded Glory at WalMart. So Goodwill is a company that pays its employees to sort through the stuff, and gets all its goods for free. The profits are used to buy new equipment, new buildings (expansion) and pay the salaries of the executives. Goodwill has very little handouts. But it employs people. But a church takes money in and pays utility bills and rent and brings food to the needy. So it is not like someone goes to a Church and is told, here, you can have some old clothes for $7. So if the pastor gets paid $100k/year, so what? Even if this Church is not real. It is just a place people go to be told things and people pay the pastor. Half goes to him and runnign the building, the other helps the poor. So a gay couple says, "marry us". He/she says, "nope". So we should remove the tax status?
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhy does it seem to me that all the atheists actually have good questions?
As a Mormon, I don't mean to start something with all the other religions, but look at my point of view here;
My Church is the only true Church. And it really isn't even a church or religion. It just is what it is. All the others are religions with a piece of a puzzle but have no authority to perform any ordinances.
And then the atheists come along and ask questions that sound like they are being disrespectful, but really, they just want a good explanation as to why the false church they grew up in, is so screwed up? It is simple. The false church can't answer their questions, because it is just a remnant of a Church that was once Organized by Jesus, and later had no Apostles of Priesthood. The only way to reform it was to rebuild it. And it had to be done right.
12 AnswersReligion & Spirituality8 years agoWhat is the deal with women wanting the Priesthood in the LDS - Mormon Church?
Lately, there are men and women in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who want women to be able to hold the Priesthood. They also want to see Women have the ability to be in more leadership roles.

How do you know if a Monster is gay?
If he is hiding under your bed, he is straight.
If he comes out of the closet, he is gay.
I don't see how this would be offensive, but what do you all think?

I am a CPA and I charge people from $150-$300 for very basic returns (fed and State).
I want to know how this compares to HRB and the rest.
2 AnswersUnited States8 years agoWhat is the difference between an opinion and a fact?
We need a good answer, because many ya! users are confused.
One person wrote to me: "Maybe because there was NO debt (referring to 2006) then....but that's just an opinion..."
Gee whiz. I really wish her "opinion" was a fact, because that would mean we had no debt in 2006. Cool!
7 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhy did Barack Obama vote against raising the debt limit as a Senator?
8 AnswersPolitics8 years agoQuick Poll: Do you agree with President Obama about raising the debt ceiling and not cutting spending?
Because he claims that "Americans" agree with him.
I don't agree but maybe you all do? Why or why not?

13 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhy did Barack Obama complain about working on New Year's Eve when so many are unemployed?
People who "have to work" on New Years Eve should be grateful to be working at all.
2 AnswersPolitics8 years agoWhere do you stand on the Fiscal Cliff Negotiations?
It seems there are 4 sides.
1. - Democrats who believe there is a Fiscal Cliff. They want a law passed to extend the Bush Tax cuts for all but the rich. They feel if this does not happen, the less rich will not have enough money to buy stuff and the economy will tank. However, if only the rich pay more, the economy will be just fine, and it will not hurt employment.
2. - Democrats who do not believe there is a Cliff (Huffington Post). They want what #2 wants, but they feel it was Wall Street who conjured up this story. They think if nothing passes, our economy will hurt but not as much. They also feel the stocks will not tank at a 30% decrease, as predicted by Wall Street.
3. - Republicans who believe in the Cliff. They want the cuts to be extended permanently. They feel, that if we extend for all but the rich, the rich will stop hiring, and the economy will tank.
4. - Republicans who do not believe in the Cliff. People like Donald Trump. He calls it a Fiscal Curb. He thinks Republicans should use the fear of the Cliff to their advantage.
So which one are you?
