  • Drugs,how am I going to cope?

So, I went to the G.P, she was very nice but I get the feeling she didn't have a clue! I am currently taking Fluoxetine 20mg and oxazepam 10mg x 3 daily. I'm not sure if it is working as I still feel like crap and want to just leave it all behind, sad times :( I have another app next week and don't know what to say. The Oxazepam were only supposed to be short term but I am still really stressed on them, God only knows what I'll be like if I come off; I don't know what to do, is there any help out there?

  • How did you sum up enough courage to go to the Dr about your depression?

I know I'm depressed and I know I need help, but I just cannot bring myself to call the Dr! I'm so frightened of being told how silly I am being. The thought of it sends me into flurries of tears which I have no control over.I feel so awful and really don't know what to do. I am an English woman living in France and that just makes it 1000 times worse! How did you do it?

  • Hello, I need help with a diseased grapevine, can you help?

I am currently looking after a friends garden and she has vines, which look rather suspect. The leaves are discoloured, and have started to crinkle, for want of a better word! The fruit is practically non-existent although there are a few grapes struggling to grow. It looks like it needs a good prune, but I wouldn't know where to start. It has never been terribly successful and I suspect it is due to bugs (although I haven't seen any) or disease. Can anyone offer some advice. We are in SW france, if that helps! Thanks in advance, I would love to get it sorted for my friend as she wiil be coming back in August. Thank you. x

  • Why are people so nasty?

Okay this is difficult and complex. Today, my husband was abused and verbally assaulted by someone who deemed him racist. This based on no-one hearing him or seeing him do anything to back this up. Everything that happened today is based on hearsay, and was not backed up by any proof. Two supposed friends of ours said nothing during the verbal attack in which I was left distraught through total frustration. Why are people so ready to accept gossip as fact, and why do they always get away with it. Today I lost 2 friends, maybe 4, because of hearsay. No problem you may think, but as a stranger in a foreign country I need all my friends. It's tough being away from friends and family and I certainly don't need this and I truly don't deserve it. My husband says the truth will out within 6 months, but I haven't hurt anyone, so why should I suffer, even for such a short length of time. It's just not fair!

  • My 21 week old kitten had an accident.....?

Last night my kitten went out for a wee and when he didn't come back we got very worried. He returned about midnight looking shaken and unable to walk properly. He has spent most of the day sleeping and cannot walk. He won't eat or drink anything, he cries if you try to pick him up. What do I do? I live in France and can't find a local vet that is open at the moment. I have no phone so can't call round, and all my neighbours are at work. I am so worried about him, he looks so pitiful, please help, even a temporary solution would be appreciated, until I can find a vet! Thank you so much.

  • How do you lose weight? I excercise, but nothing is working! I have hashimotos disease and take thyroxine.?

I am due for another blood test, but if this comes up as 'within normal' I don't know what I am going to do. I am not just not losing weight, but I am actually gaining it! I have four children and am renovating a house at the moment, I shouldn't even have the time to gain weight!! I don't want to be thin, but I'd like to be a sort of average size. Help I feel huge!

  • Does anyone know if there is an English speaking hairdresser in \near La Rochefaucauld?

I speak only a little French and I don't want to make any irreversible mistakes at a French salon. I know this is a bit pathetic, however I also have a daughter and two sons who need a trim too and it could get confusing. Visiting the hairdressers is one of the few things I have not summed up the courage to do since we arrived LAST APRIL!! Need help, anyone! Mercixx

  • Help, My French is rubbish!!!?

I live in France with my husband and three children. The children all go to school and their French is improving all the time, mine however is lousy. I cannot get the hang of it and as it is winter all the locals have gone into hibernation mode. Finances are very tight right now so lessons are not an option. Please can you help me, I am very happy to help out with English if you need it and will endeavour to work as hard as I can to fit into my adopted country. Thank you all, in anticipation.......There is a question in there somewhere!!
