  • First Day of School Activities?

I am an 8th grade Language Arts teacher and I am wondering if anyone had some ideas about activities to do on the first days of school with your students? They can be anything from ice breakers to mini projects? I usually have the students write Bio Poems and color paper tee shirts telling me about themselves but I am looking to do something different.

Please let me know what you think! :-)

  • First Dance Song for a Wedding?

I am getting married in December and I can't decide on what should be our first dance song. We have never had that "one" song that represents us because of our difference in music. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for songs, including new releases?

    Thanks so much!

  • Costume party but I hate dressing up.....Any suggestions?

I have a costume party to attend and I need some suggestion on costumes I can wear. I hate dressing up in costumes and haven't since I was a kid.

Because of this, I am looking for something really simple and will make me feel comfortable, without having to go all out in full blown costume.

    I hope this makes sense!

    Thanks for your help!

  • Sending a thank you letter after a job interview?

My dad recently went for a job interview and he will hear within two weeks if he will be called back for a second interview.

Now usually, he sends a thank you letter. However, I told him not to send one until he receives a call saying he has a second interview and then after the second interview, send one.

What do you think? What should he do? Any advice would be great!

    Thanks! :-)

  • Tanning Beds + New Bulbs = Burn! Possible Remedies?

I have been tanning since April because I wanted to have some color for the summer. I only go about 2-3 times a week and for only 8 minutes.

I have a wedding on Saturday and when I went tanning last night, I was informed that the bulbs were just changed last week and they needed to cut my time. Therefore, I went in for five minutes and was fine. I went again today and the woman told me five minutes and I asked if six was too much and both attendents said I would be fine. So, I went in and I came out with a burn on my right forearm only. I am thinking it must have been the way I had my arm and it must have been over a bulb.

Does anyone have any remedies? Like I said, I have the wedding Saturday and I would really hate for it to blister.

Also, I am canceling my membership next month so please don't message me about how horrible tanning is. It was only a summer thing and plan to go back to being pale.

Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it! :-)

  • Increased weight from building muscle?

I am a member of Weight Watchers and go in weekly for my weigh in's.

Recently, I decided to up my exercise level and enrolled in kickboxing and kettle bells. I have been doing this for about four weeks and go about three to four times a week.

Now, I am starting to see muscle developing, especially in my arms. However, when I go to Weight Watchers each week, I keep gaining a pound. I can't understand this because I am starting to feel good and clothes are fitting better. But my orginal goal was to lose weight, not gain.

Could this be a result of building muscle?
