  • I need to have an intelligent and collected response when finally seeing a family member over the holidays.?

I am a real estate agent, I am very experienced and have been in business for myself for almost 10 years. Well about a year ago, my cousin and his wife contacted me to help them find and purchase their first home. I was happy to do it and thoroughly enjoyed helping them. I love the excitement of first time home buyers. So over this year, I took them out many times. I held their newborn child for hours while touring homes so they would be free to look around. The areas that they were interested in were all over the island. I drove all over spending hundreds of dollars in gas and buying them lunch and coffee/snacks on different occasions. My goodwill was partly to schmooze my clients and would be HOPEFULLY paid back when the sale went through. These are the expenses associated with my job and sometimes I don't ever get money back due to the deal falling through. So about 2 months in they find out that they are expecting their next child. Ok. No problem. The search goes on right? So we go back and forth looking and nothing. Then finally we start back out touring properties and when they finally start narrowing in on a property, I insist on getting their mortgage preapproval and they start stumbling over their excuses. You see in the beginning of the search they said that they were both up for promotions and didn't want to get their preapprovals yet since their salaries were gonna change. Understandable. She is a ADA and he is a police officer and family! I am sure it I'll be fine - they are good people. So now on our 2nd leg of tours I am insisting on it and they tell me in 2 weeks they have an appt. with mortgage guy since that's their first day off at the same time. I try explaining that they could probably do all of it over phone but they want to wait. So in the meantime I contine sending listings and follow-up with them. They are planning a big party but ensure me that thy will get back on it soon. Months go by nd I finally see a posting on Facebook that thy are officially in contract on a home. I sent them an email to say that I heard the good news that they found a home and congrats. I then said that I was going to stop sending listings since it was no longer necessary and that I look forward to seeing them over the holidays. I was trying to take the high road. I got no response back. 2 months later another post pops up that they are closing on the house.

I are my job very seriously and I take my time away from my family even more seriously. I know that in my line of work, this sometimes happens... Clients just fall off the face of the earth, but this is a family member. How do you not respect me enough to waste my time like this. This was all dragged out over a year. Money out of my on pocket.... More importantly time away from my family. The fact that they did not even feel like they needed to explain or apologize after cutting me out of the sale is so disrespectful. Now, my first contact with them will be on Xmas eve in front of 60 of my closest relatives. They will probably be gushing and talking about their new home. I would love to have an intelligent and calm 'comeback' to address the situation. Can you help me to come away from this with away to say it was rude and disrespectful but look professional and 'on top'?

  • Need a good comeback... Going to be at a school function tomorrow and the group I am with did not invite me to?

her holiday party this Saturday. She is always invited to any of my outings. I like to include everyone and usually follow the motto of "the more the merrier". She invited all of my friends as well. We are all parents within the same boy scout troop. They keep discussing it in front of me as well. How do I save face tomorrow when they realize that they have excluded me?? Personally I think its rather rude to discuss a subject like that in front of me or others that have not been invited. I am running the school function and can't exactly avoid the topic. What should I say if I am asked to go (as an afterthought obviously??) and how should I handle the situation without letting it get to me all day long?

  • When ordering from Peapod, what is the appropriate tip amount?? They already charge $7 for delivery.?

My husband feels that we should not have to tip at all since we are already paying for delivery charge but he is never here when the food arrives and the awkward pause for a tip. I also feel that it should be something small since we are already paying a fee and its there chosen job to be a delivery person and they are doing the task they were hired to do.

We usually order one big delivery for the month to restock shelves so its usually around $300. There is a delivery fee of $7 already. What should we be tipping??

  • I am not sure if I have a kidney infection or trauma to my kidney.... how can you tell?

Ok - so my symptoms are back pain (only on one side) where my kidneys are located, cloudy urine and pain (not burning) and pressure while urinating - especially at the end. We are in between insurance companies right now so I am nervous about blowing this out of proportion and going to the ER - and racking up bills. So I start googling these symptoms and I come to the conclusion that I must have a kidney infection NOT a UTI/bladder infection. Since a few days ago I started seeing cloudy urine. I thought it was odd and thought that maybe I should start drinking more water. But my urine continued to be cloudy. Then today the pain started. So I start researching and realize that a kidney infection almost always happen due to a untreated UTI/Bladder infection, I had no recent UTI symptoms - no frequent urination or burning. But then I start reading about kidney trauma and remember that I did get hit in the back (near my kidney) while driving off road a few days ago. The problem I have right now is that I don't know which came first... the cloudy urine or the kidney hit. Has anyone ever had an issues like this... Has anyone ever had kidney trauma??? If so, how were you treated and tested?? Has anyone ever had a Kidney infection??? If so, how did you treat it?? Are there any over the counter remedies for a kidney infection?? I am going to go to my primary doctor in a couple of days if the symptoms don't subside or even get worse. But I am wondering if it could be something I should not wait on....What should I do?

  • I am about to lose it! I have a 2.5 yr old female (fixed) Cav. King Charles Spaniel that keeps peeing all...?

over my house. I have tried everything!! I have tried positive reinforcement, crate training, wee-pads (she eats them!). I am living in a house of gates because I cannot trust her to roam the house. Its not fair to my other dog (9 yr old Male Lab) because he doesn't get any freedom because of her (if I separate them she cries the entire time). If I put her out in our yard to roam freely she runs away (we just recently got the invisible fence and it works half the time). Whenever we give her just a little bit of freedom, she just pees right in the middle of the room! She doesn't care if we are watching or not. We put her outside often enough, but still does it. And with 3 kids (6,3,1) I can't always stay on top of her and then BAM I find a stain a week later. I was at the point where I just wanted to keep her in her crate 24/7... but of course I could not do that so I penned both the dogs up in my dining room and she has continued to run around the back (hidden side) of the table and piss on the rug. I have considered the fact that she is continuing to pee there because of the smell but I clean it obsessively and she just continues to piss in the room - everywhere! She just finds a new spot. It is so bad at this point that it smells and looks horrible and I have to host Xmas dinner in a month and cannot afford a new rug. (Which I can't imagine that she would stop anyway - she'll just piss on a brand new rug.) This of course forces me to clean my carpets very often but it just seems so seeped in at this point - its driving me crazy. I live in a 9 year old home that I take very much pride in. I feel like I am living in squalor with this issue - its so smelly! What can I do about this dog??? I have had dogs most of my life and NEVER had this problem with a dog (after puppyhood) - male or female. I have never considered giving away a pet - member of my family before but she is really pushing it. I have 3 kids to take care of and most of the responsibilities of my home - my patience is wearing so thin. My kids are witnessing me get upset and who needs this? They love her. But I am not sure I do anymore. Please help me find a solution to this....

This banner will be used during meetings or functions. Our school colors are blue and gold and technically we are known as the Tigers - its an elementary school.

  • My 6 year old son keeps pooping his pants. I am at wits end - I have tried every approach, any suggestions?

He has always had problems with holding his poop (even as a toddler). When I ask him why he does this, he says that he doesn't want to miss on the fun. Once he said that he even likes "holding it". I am at wits end with this. Two weeks ago he went in his pants at school, he sat in it for 2 hours and even came home on the bus. When I asked him why he didn't go to the nurse or tell his teacher - he said because he didn't want his friends to know. Don't you think they knew when they smelled you for 2 hours?? As it is he only poops once a week (maybe twice) due to holding it. So if you do the calculations, that's 6-8 times a months and almost every time he poops in his pants. Please are there any other parents that have gone through this.... What suggestions do you have??

  • I am currently breastfeeding and needed to get a CatScan at the ER. I was told that I would not be able...?

I was told that due to the dye they injected (Omnipaque 300) that I would not be able to nurse for 24 hrs. Well after I consulted with my pediatrician they are saying that I should wait 7 days before nursing and "pump & dump" the milk in the meantime. Moreso, they are saying that since my daughter is almost a year that I should just wean her off at this time. I am very upset by all this. If I had known this was going to end breastfeeding I would have refused the test in the hospital. There is no research to support the effects of this contrast in breastmilk - so I am going at this blind. Does anyone have any information or personal experiences about this issue?? I would love to continue nursing my daughter but not at the risk of hurting her. Also, I am having a VERY hard time pumping. Honestly, I have never been able to pump successfully. I have exclusively breastfed my daughter for almost a year without pumping . I am obviously making enough milk but when I pumped I would get TOPS 3 ozs. I know its not the end of the world if I have to ween her but I would like it to be on my own terms and when WE are ready. I have come this far and we are not ready to ween. Please help!!

  • I need to print about 10,000 digital photos. Does anyone know of a good CHEAP bulk digital processing site?

I really want to get these photos OUT of my computer so I can enjoy them in an actual album. But now we have so many that its hard to know which ones actually were printed. I would like to ultimately upload them or send CDs off to a company to print them - but I need an affordable place to do this. I have about 11k total. I was hoping to get them printed for under 5 cents each. I don't see why in this day and age I could not get them for a penny each. Does anyone know of a site or company that does this?

  • Etiquette... We recently had my 3rd child christened & had a big party for her. My M-I-L wants a list of?

She wants a list of all the gifts given to my daughter from her side of the family. In the past when we had big celebrations (our wedding, my first child's christening, baby and bridal shower) she asked for the same thing. She said that it was so she knew what to give them in return when it was their child's wedding - kind of eye for eye. I just kept ''forgetting' to give her a copy of the list because I didn't think it was appropriate to have or give. The only reason why I had a list was so I could write out the Thank you notes & record it in this baby book that I was given (which had pages for this such thing). Each time she called for a cousin's shower, etc, I would have to drag out the list & let her know - so in her mind she would be giving an appropriate gift & not just giving a gift from her heart. She kept saying 'well if you gave me the list.... I wouldn't have to keep bothering you.' I finally gave in & typed a list with only her family on it. The funny thing is that she still calls & asks when occasions come up so it never solved the problem - I think she still asks to REMIND us what to give them. Well now, she wants a list from my 3rd daughter's recent christening!!!! What the he*&!!!! Recently when she visited she asked us what amount her friend gave us and when I told her, she commented....."you see... this is why you call her your aunt!. Just because her son is 35 doesn't mean that she can stop teaching her kids right from wrong. Does this mean that his ACTUAL Aunt that gave less should no longer be considered an aunt because of the amount of money she gave my daughter?!?!?! Insane and incredibly inappropriate. I realize now that she is just sizing people up and not using it as a gift giving guide. I was not brought up this way, we were always taught to appreciate anything and everything - not how much? I was happy that they were able to share the special day with us and a gift was not necessary at all. My question is... Should I give her another update to this list?? Is it appropriate for her to even ask for one EVER? And most of all, how do I politely decline her request??

  • I am breastfeeding my 3rd child and out of nowhere my milk is in short supply... ?

I have not changed anything in my diet. My daughter is now 8 wks old. I was producing 5-6 ozs when I pumped and now I can barely get 2-3 ozs! I was not giving any supplements at all and trying to pump in between feedings to produce more. I have tried drinking more water as well. What is going on??? I was so stressed at my daughter frustration and hunger that I finally gave her 1 oz of formula yesterday to 'top her off' and I feel horrible now. This is my 3rd child... with my first I stopped since it was so painful (I got thrush and once I started supplementing it was a gradual decline and stopped at 3 wks.) with my second child she wound up having a protein allergy and stopped after 2 wks. After 7-8 wks, although its hard, it was working out for this child... and now this. I have heard from friends that they had to stop because of their milk supply not increasing and was hoping to work through this, but what gives.... If this is mother nature's way and the most natural... why doesn't it come naturally??? Any suggestions on increasing the milk supply.... Please help??

  • Am I taking this too personally? My M-I-L seems to be withholding an inheritance...?

My husband's mother gave an inheritance of $50k to each of his siblings to buy their first homes in the past 3 years. The kicker is that the grandmother wasn't dead yet. Basically they liquidated her assets so the govt could not get it when they placed her in a nursing home with Medicaid/Medicare. Good planning. Well, we purchased our home 8 years ago, with no help from either of our parents - just the way we liked it. Since my in-laws knew grandma's will/wishes they had no problem handing over this money to his brother and sister when they each purchases their homes over that last couple of years. We knew about it because the brother slipped and mentioned it to us. We were a little upset, but never said anything, because we were struggling just the same as everyone else. Well, now his grandmother has officially passed away. Within the same week, my husband lost his job!! We have our 3rd child due in 3 weeks and still no leads on a job. I work as a realtor, which the market is horrible right now. I can't get hired by anyone since I am too far along in my pregnancy - not that I haven't tried. My problem is that I feel that it would be nice if my MIL would at least offer some kind of help, we are all so stressed that my health is at risk with my blood pressure. She is not even offering up the money from grandma's will - which we know for a fact $50k was allotted to each grandchild. Nothing. I take it personally, because my MIL has never accepted me. She has made many judgements on me because my family (siblings) are not the best. However, I am nothing like them. I have been with her son for almost 16 years and I am not going anywhere. I feel that she secretly hopes we would divorce and then she would gladly give him the money. If we had different circumstances right now, I would never expect/accept a hand-out from anyone. BUT I can't change my problems, I am so afraid of not being able to provide for my kids and possibly lose my house. Bottom line... eventhough I can't ever say anything and make people give us squat, I am disappointed in his family and feel like he is being punished because of my existence in the family. Should I take it personally that she has offered this to his siblings but not us??

  • Grandmother's Funeral - Memory Idea - what do you think?

I am the crafty one in the family. My husband's grandmother recently passed away of completely natural causes in her sleep at 94. You never hear of that happening anymore... Anyway, I have always been very uncomfortable at funerals and was thinking of ways to keep people focused on the fun times with grandma. So I created some Photo Memory Boards. Well it got my wheels rolling and now I was thinking about doing a completely seperate project... I was thinking of making some nice notecards and put them in a basket for people to write their favorite memories about grandma. Completely voluntary, if they choose to fill it out. These are to be put in the basket to be read by the family later. I thought that it would be a nice record for family members to get to know her a little better and more fondly. I would then take the cards at the end of the service and make a small scrapbook for a family heirloom. What do you think... should I do it or not. Good idea or bad one...

  • Need help coming up with a party theme?

Every year, my family has a reunion upstate ny. We have this one pool motel (approx 15 rooms) that participate in a progressive cocktail hour(s). We start at the top and work our way to the next room every 10 minutes. So I need a crazy theme but the prep work is only for 10 minutes of fame - so it has too be memorable but not super expensive. We have had the normal themes ie, laua, ireland, usa soccer, mardis gra, hollywood... I would like to have something no one else will think of - any ideas would be appreciated. It would help if you say the drink type, party favors, decorations needed, etc. My family goes all out and it keeps getting more and more elaborate!!! The memories are getting better every year. BTW the ages of those who participate are 21 to 101. Thanks.
