My best friends (separated) wife is an alcoholic, hate filled woman who neglects her son but won't let her husband see the 2.5 year old son out of spite. She goes away for days at a time and leaves the child with strangers but won't let the boy stay with the father, who loves the child and takes great care of him. She claims she is a Christian. I would like to quote her some appropriate passages from the Bible. I prefer the Gospels but any suggestions would be welcome. Thanks.

I have a ton of credits, mostly lower division. To get a BA I need some more upper division courses. I am primarily interested in English or English/American Lit. I attended UC Berkeley and SJSU in the 70s and lots of classes at the local community college in assorted subjects. The main thing is I need to do this remote, as I live in Costa Rica now. I have seen artists using a sort of frame of some sort to steady their hands while painting on an easel. Is there a specific name for that, and are there certain easels that come with such a thing?

Suppose a resident of Nevada died by accident in Oregon. Would the next of kin be notified by someone in person, or get a phone call or something else?

I am a retired expat living in Costa Rica. A local woman I know is asking for advice and I am trying to help her. She is early 30s, has 2 children, has little education, no job or dependable income and just learned she is pregnant. Not my child, by the way. I am well acquainted with how cumbersome the local bureaucracy is. I have no idea what the laws are here or if it's possible, something I will check into. If she were willing to put the baby up for adoption, I believe she would prefer it be to a North American family, as her step father was from the USA. But basically I am trying to find out if anybody has dealt with arranging an adoption with a woman from Costa Rica, especially one who has not given birth yet. Thank you for your help.

I have about 90k in my Reg. IRA. I am 61 and will start drawing about 10k a year in Social Security next March. I don't work and have no taxable income to speak of. I haven't had any income to speak of in the last 10 years and have been living on savings (and minimal investment income). Should I convert to a Roth? I am reasonably healthy and expect to live another 20 years. Suggestions? Advice?

I am traveling to an area that has had an outbreak and plan to get a booster shot (I am 61 and it's been decades since my last booster). I want to know how long before the vaccination takes effect and provides protection.

I am interested in the period between the emergence of modern humans, 100-200 thousand years ago, and the first 'civilizations' such as the Nile, Indus and Tigris/Euphrates. How common was 'village' life? I would guess it became more common later on, as pigs, sheep and so forth were domesticated. Anyone able to help me out here?

A woman I know has something quite odd that happens to her. We were at a bar, watching the Superbowl. She was drinking, but not excessively. She was having a good time, laughing, joking. Somebody said something to her that she didn't like. It was as if a switch got thrown, because from that moment on she began to grow steadily more hostile to everyone, until soon she was calling everybody names and looking for a fight with anybody and everybody. She was still in that mood a day later, long after the alcohol wore off. At the moment she has calmed down and seems back to 'normal,' but is there any kind of disorder or syndrome that describes this sudden swing of mood and rationality? Once again, the mood persisted long after the alcohol wore off.

For example, Broadway musicals, becoming hairdressers, just to name a few stereotypical things. Why Judy Garland? Why interior decoration? I am not putting any of these things down. I can see why someone might enjoy any of those things, but more gay men seem to like them than in the non-gay male population.
