  • Bus from Penang to Singapore - from Komtar or Sungai Nibong?

I'm looking to visit Penang for 3D2N from Singapore. Have decided to just fly from SG to Penang, but taking a bus back home from Penang to save cost. I see the cheapest option is Konsortium buses, that have options of departing from Komtar or Sungai Nibong Express Bus Terminal.

What do you think is the better departing station? Is it confusing to find the buses? I'm a bit worried that I won't be familiar with the place and risk missing the bus.

Please let me know what you think. Thanks!

  • How to join these two tables properly, returning results from table1 even though no match in table 2?

    Hi,

I'm trying to join 2 tables, there are some criteria given for both tables. Below are the example data:

    table 1

    Column 1 | Column 2 | Column 3

    -------------------------------

    id1 | Y | Y

    id2 | Y | N

    id3 | Y | N

    table 2

    Column 1 | Column 2 | Column 3

    --------------------------------

    id1 | cat 1 | value1

    id1 | cat 2 | value2

    id2 | cat 1 | valuex

    id2 | cat 3 | valuey

    id3 | cat 4 | valuez

    id3 | cat 5 | valuea

    the criteria are:

    table1. column2 = Y

table2. column 2 --> if it's either cat 1 or cat 2, should be returned together with column3, if not, no need

so the ideal result table from this should be:

    id1 cat 1 value1

    id1 cat 2 value2

    id2 cat 1 valuex

    id3 null null

what I did earlier is joining the tables, and put the where clause (where table2.column 2 in cat 1, cat 2), but this limited the result to only the IDs that have cat 1 or cat 2, it didn't return the likes of id3 in the example, where the table1.column2 is Y.

Any suggestions please? Very much appreciated!

  • How do I extract substrings from this string in Excel?

    Hello,

so I have this long string..

    05/01/12 00:03:03 username [MSG_xxx_yy]-MESSAGE- -''message'' - text text2 text3 text4

And I want to separate the items in that string. I want to separate it for the date, time, username, [MSG_xxx_yy], and then the message.

I tried to use the "text to column" wizard, using space as delimiter. This worked fine for the date, time, and the username, but not so for the [MSG_xxx_yy] and the message.

Is there a way to extract the substrings that I want? I've tried using LEFT for the date and time - that one was easy. But I hit a problem when I want to extract the [MSG_xxx_yy], the username, and the message. I used MID combined with FIND for [MSG_xxx_yy], but the result was just so messy..

    =MID(A1,FIND("[",A1),(FIND("]",A1))-(FIND("[",A1))+1)

    Please help, excel gurus! :)

  • Munich or Budapest, if I'm going back to Prague after that?

    Hi,

so this is the plan.. My friends and I (big group, we're a choir..) are going to Prague and then Cesky Krumlov. After that we have 4 nights, so we're going to spend 2 nights in Vienna, and then 2 nights before we have to go back to Prague to catch a plane back home.

Which city do you think is a better choice, in terms of transportations to and fro? We're thinking either Munich or Budapest. And also overall, which one is better to visit, Munich or Budapest?

    Appreciate your answers!

  • How do I grep this file pattern [unix]?

    Hello,

I'm trying to grep a piece of text in files in one folder. The text is something like this -- 0077*.P

    When I tried <grep 0077*.P *> it didn't return anything. It didn't return anything as well when I did <grep "0077*.P" *>

Wondering what's the correct syntax to grep that exact piece of text? I guess the * threw grep off or something?

    Thanks for the help!

  • How much is a winter jacket/coat in Prague?

Hi! I'm from a tropical country and haven't experienced winter at all. I'm going to Prague this December and as I checked the forecast, it'll be about -2 to 5 degrees of celcius.

I want to know how much is a winter jacket/coat in Prague. Not the expensive ones, just a basic and comfortable one. I'm thinking that the ones sold here might be more expensive. Probably because there's no demand, it's a tropical country after all!

    Appreciate your answers! :)

  • What clothes do I need for winter (for the first time)?

Hi guys.. I'll be going to Prague (Czech Republic) this December. Obviously, it's winter time. I'm from a tropical country and haven't experienced winter at all. Just asking what clothes do I need to pack and what is usually the standard set of clothes to use when out and about? I checked the weather forecast and it says the temperature will be about -5 celcius to about 2 celcius.

    Thanks for the help!

  • What can you do in gym when you don't bring your gym shoes?

Went on business trip abroad and forgot to bring gym shoes when there's actually a 24-hour gym at hotel. Reckon I can do something anyway? Maybe cycling or something? definitely not treadmill stuff.. Advice appreciated.

  • What's a good brand for lightweight workout shoes?

I'm planning to join a gym near my office. Of course this would mean I would need to bring my workout shoes to the office. I would like to buy a pair of really lightweight ones so that I don't need to carry a heavy bulky thing during my commute (I stand in trains very often). I don't do really intense workouts, mostly just treadmills, cycling, and the likes.

Would appreciate it if you have a recommendation for a good brand! (preferably affordable too, of course)

  • What toe nails colour should I get if I'm wearing black heels with silver linings?

    Hi!

I have actually not done a pedicure before. But I'm thinking to get one before my commencement (graduation ceremony) this Wednesday.

Wondering if girls (or even guys!) have a suggestion? My graduation gown is black, and I'll wear an academic hood with bright yellow accents (it's my faculty's colour). I'll wear an open-toed black heels that has thin silver linings along the sides.

I'm thinking that I should get a gold manicure, because it matches my yellow hood. But how about my pedicure?

    Hope for great recommendations!

  • How to make (previously) white doll's fur white again?

I know the question is a bit confusing, so let me explain.

I bought a white doll on a discount. Obviously it was old stock, so the white fur has yellowed. Is there anything I can do to make the fur white again? I don't want to soak it in water because this "graduation" doll is holding a "diploma" that's made of paper. Obviously the "diploma" will be ruined if I soak it in water.

Hoping for some answers here! Thanks!

  • Any novel way to combat foot/shoe odour?

So I can't afford to be embarrassed anymore.

I have really really bad foot and shoe odour. Like, it smells like rotten garbage. I suppose it's a vicious cycle. My bad foot gives bad odour to the shoe, then the shoe retains it, and as I wear it again, the odour comes back. And on and on.

I've tried many ways. I always keep my feet clean. I wash it while I shower, brushing it, even the gaps between the toes. I spray on anti-odour spray (by Scholl) before I go out. I put (baby) powder inside the shoes so that I won't sweat (because the odour is so so so bad when my feet sweat).

I have tried sunning the shoes. Also putting in some newspapers inside it. I also tried tea leaves.

Nothing worked. I hope the Answers community has some novel way to combat the foul odour?

Hope you will help. I'm really desperate.

  • What does it mean when your menstruation blood is bright red? And when the cycle is seemingly "reversed"?

    Let me explain.

I got my period on August 4th, approximately 10 days ago. The blood was brown and it's got little clots. Flow was very light. Then suddenly approximately 3 days ago the flow got heavier and heavier. Today the flow is really heavy and my blood is bright red (looks like fresh blood). I got aching cramps too.

    Anyone got any idea why?

  • My "mailto:" link didn't work, brought up a blank page instead. Anyone can help?

    Hello,

I'm fixing an HTML email right now. The client wants me to pre-populate the email with text.

    it's the kind of <a href="mailto:email?Subject=something&Body=something">

It works fine on my side (I'm using Microsoft Outlook 2007, Windows XP), but my colleague can't open it. (She's using Microsoft Outlook 2007, Windows Vista) The link simply brought her to a blank page on her Internet Explorer, instead of opening a new message in Outlook.

Any idea why this happened, and anyone knows how to rectify this?

    Many thanks!

  • For plus-size : "noisy" patterns or plain?

    I'm a plus size, approximately UK 18/US 16 with height approx 1.6 m.

Just wondering whether it'll be better to use clothing with "noisy" repeating patterns (such as polka dot, little flowers, etc.) or plain color blocks? Or perhaps one big pattern?

    Thanks for the help!

  • How to test email-sending form in local computer? (ASP .NET)?

    Hi,

I'm currently developing just a very simple form.

Basically the users should be able to fill in their data and upon clicking submit, an e-mail would be sent.

I'm currently using Visual Studio 2005, using C#, developing ASP .NET.

Tried running it. Form shows well, but after filling up, the email won't send. I think I have to configure SMTP or sorts but I don't really know.

    Any clues?

  • Microsoft Excel - How to compare 2 values in different sheets?

Ok here's what i need to do.

Sheet 1 - contains a list of issued vouchers

    Columns - VoucherNumber Status

Sheet 2 - contains a list of redeemed vouchers

    Columns

VoucherNumber ExamStatus (Failed, Pending, Passed, No Show)

What i need to do is update the "Status" column in sheet one, whether it's already been redeemed or not. A voucher is only counted as redeemed if the exam status is either failed, pending, or passed (no show doesn't count).

I did it the manual way : I filtered the exam status to show only failed/pending/passed, then copy the values of the VoucherNumber, search for the value in Sheet 1, then update the status. Obviously, not the best and the fastest way at all.

Is there any easier or faster way? Macros/vb script will be fine, I'm familiar with those. I tried to do macro but somehow it won't work for me.

    Please help! Thank you. :)
