  • Automotive Question regarding fairness-Honesty?

I recently took my daughters 2006 Mustang for a shop that I have been dealing with for quite a few years. I have trusted the owner and have known him for quite a while. He knows that I have been a mechanic and do lots of my own repairs. I bring jobs to him that I don't have time for. The reason I took this simple job to him is because I just had major surgery. I knew business was slow, because I was the only car there on Monday. He charged me a total of $700. for an oil change and alternator. I since found the alternator for $150.00 My question is this, what would you do in this case of obvious overpricing.

I plan to print and mail the question and all answers to him.

  • Have you ever asked a spoofy question and later found out that it is being done on a large scale.?

A while back, I asked a question about capturing methane gas from cows to use as alternative energy and got some Ha Ha, Ho Ho answers, some were suggesting insterting plumbing parts into cows etc. Pacific Gas and Electric is doing this on a very large scale and it is working amazing well, with nothing inserted in cows, put that in your pipe and smoke it! The same pipe you wanted to insert in the cows! Ha!

  • Iraq Military Personnel have just been restricted from using the Internet, Do you think this is fair to them?

Paul Harvey Just announced that Service personell in Iraq will no longer allowed to use the Internet for any reason, because they say this ties up the internet use for military use too much. This sounds like a load of crap. Do any of you parents or friends think this is a good thing to do to them. Many of them use the internet to tell their parents that they are ok and still alive. I am one of those parents, curious if anyone else has a problem with this.

  • Fatalities, There are more deaths on our highways that Iraq, but no one seems upset with those figures?

I looked up the figures on deaths attributed to drunk drivers on the MADD website, pretty staggering. This number is much larger than the fatalities that our troops in Iraq are totaling. Everyone is upset and talking about the military fatalities, but no one seems to care or even be aware of what is happening on our highways, why is that ?

  • Odds in a Scrabble game.?

I was starting a game with 2 other players, we all drew 7 pieces prior to the start of the game. I drew 6 letter I's and a U. There are a total 0f 96 pieces in the game, there are 9 letter I's in this group. It would seem that the odds are pretty heavy. I don't think I would live long enough to do it again. By the way, I withdrew from the game and wouldn't play, got some insults for doing so!

  • Should we capture methane from cows?

I recently read where cows pollute more than suv's. The methane gas is the problem, why not figure out how to capture this gas, we capture all the solids and liquids from cows, why not gas, I know it is burnable as fuel. We could capture it and burn it in suv's. This could create a new cottage industry. "Got Gas"

  • Large Engine?

My Question has to do with large engine design. I am aware that violent reactions take place when Oxygen and hydrocarbons combine. It doesn't seem that anything is being done to capatilize on this. I was a liquid oxygen handler a long time ago, we had a 50 gallon container leak on asphalt and cause a crater. The energy release/explosion started from a few drops of liquid.

It seems that a very large piston, some crude oil and some Oxygen injected would create some awesome energy for a small amount of fuel, not to mention, pretty cheaply.

  • Speed of light exceeded, has it been exceeded ? If so why isn't there more excitment about it?

I recently read an article that stated the speed of light had been exceeded by transmitting data faster than the speed of light by a factor of 5x. I thought it would be really exciting news because of the laws of physics. It would mean the constant for time would be more of a variable than a fixed number.
