  • What is a good alternative to Amazon for APO?

Amazon won't ship very much to you if you're stationed overseas, but they are one of the best places to buy things online. Anyone have any good alternatives to Amazon? I usually ship it to my mom and have her ship it to me, but it adds considerable time and money to the process.

  • My 2005 Mercedes C240 won't start or even turn over?

BLUF: My car will not start or even turn over. Both the battery and solenoid appear to be working. Please read below for the rest of the details. I am stationed in Daegu, Korea, there is no MB dealership near where I live.

I have a Mercedes-Benz 2005 C240. Until now I haven't had any problems with it; however, today it would not start. I parked it in an unauthorized spot as I only had to run upstairs, grab some papers and come back. I turned on the emergency lights and left it. 5 minutes later I went back, turned off the lights and went to start it. It did not even try to turn over. I used another car to give it a jump, but it still would not even turn over. The lights are still bright when I turn them on and no unusual indicator lights come on the dash. The solenoid clicks, but once again - it does not even turn over once.

My experience has taught me that it is likely the starter as both the battery and the solenoid have been isolated from the problem. However, experience has also taught me to expect the unexpected, I.E. something simple like a sensor not being set properly.

Once again, this has never happened before. Any recommendations will help. I will call the MB dealership when they open tomorrow.

  • How often do Koreans wear suits?

I'm an American moving back to Korea. When I was there I was younger and just wore jeans and t-shirts the whole time. Now I'm older and want to look good in public. How often to Koreans in their 30's wear suits? I recall Koreans wearing suits often (movies, pizza parlors, etc). Any advice from expats or Koreans would be helpful.

Also, if anyone has info regarding websites for apartments in Daegu (not Seoul), I would greatly appreciate it.

  • The best way to get language immersion training?

Who do I contact at DLI to get immersion training in the country of the language I (used to) speak? Don't say it can't be done! Because #1 I did it years ago, #2 another soldier I know is going to do, it's just the local POC is on leave for two weeks and no ones else seems to know how to do it. Please let me know if you have any definite contacts who know how to make this happen.

  • Why do the Brits make such great soldiers?

How do you guys do it. Condolences on your fallen comrade. It's a testament to the amazing ability of your soldier's war fighting skills that they were able to rescue this hostage. Making a new definition for "The free press."

  • Question for MMA/BJJ/wrestling coaches?

I'm the local MMA/BJJ coach here in a small S. Arizona town. I have about 8 students as part of non-profit club. The problem is I have one student who isn't improving. When he's in the ring, he fails to execute the moves I've taught (BJJ, wrestling, and MMA) and he tries to do crazy stuff I didn't teach (jumping punches and crazy headlocks - neither work for s**t). The other students are doing fine and are all making good progress. He's not a moron, he learns the stuff well in practice, but just isn't executing like he should.

Any recommendations or drills to help him "stay on the rails" so to speak?

  • Bluetooth for a 2005 Mercedes C240?

Just bought my first Mercedes from a Repo man. Great price, but I have no manual and no idea how anything works. I've seen on-line that if I want to hook up my blue tooth phone to my car, a. I need to fork over 800-2000 for the Mercedes blue tooth kit or b. I can buy another blue tooth kit for $60? How do I hook it up and will it work through the existing Mercedes system (the phone pad already installed on the dash and the buttons on the steering wheel).

  • Has anyone used an American Washer/Dryer in Korea?

Moving to Korea. I recall Koreans aren't big on dryers and I hate having the elastic bands on my socks and undies get destroyed by line drying.

I assume at a minimum I need a converter? Anyone with experience in this area will be greatly appreciated. I will be living off post.

  • What are some statistics regarding medical tourism?

I'm one of those odd people who allows facts to support their decision making. What are the numbers behind medical tourism (high and low estimates)? How many come to the US, how many US leave the US, where do they most often go? Which countries are the top importers of medical tourism? I read that Thailand takes in about 600,000/year and India 200,000, but I haven't found all the numbers consolidated in one place. Please support your findings with references so I can verify them.

I'm not getting out of a school project, but rather just trying to find the facts behind the statements politicians make. Thanks!

    1. Lexus ES 350 (very comfortable and good MPG)

    3. Mercedes ??? (comfortable and good for resale value in Korea)

    Thoughts?

  • Camp Carroll and sponsored tours?

I recently read in the Army times that they are increasing the number accompanied/sponsored tours. How difficult will it be for a CPT to get his wife on a sponsored tour to Korea? Looking for recent (last year only) information as the rules have changed. Any serious answers will be greatly appreciated.

Will Iraq maintain it's democracy and stay united or will someone coup the government? Will it stay as one country or will it break into 3 parts?
