Pet mouse attacked by wild mouse?
So we've been doing construction on my home. And I guess within the last few days a quiet visitor came in and I found a little mouse in my room.
I like mice, as I own one, so I'm not afraid of them- but I don't want a WILD one in my house.
I spend my entire night trying to catch it, but I gave up and I took my mouse to a different room so he could be saftely away from the unwanted visitor.
I slept in that room. But in the middle of the night I heard my mouse violently chewing on the bars.
I turned on the lights and found that DAMN tiny mouse on my angel's cage. He took off running.
And looking closer I can see there was blood on the bars.
I paniced and I grabbed my mouse to see if he were ok. He was startled, agitated, had a cut on his foot, and little cuts on his tail. But otherwise he acted alive. I don't see any other cuts on his body, so I think the damage is minimal. But since the blood was on both sides of the cage, I think the other mouse is hurt too.(but I don't really care about that mouse)
I was so freaked out over my mouse getting hurt, I stayed up the rest of the night to make sure the little devil didn't come back.
For NOW, he seems to acts normal, His cuts don't look bad.
But my question is, has anything like this happened to anyone before? Is there anything I can do for him? (brands of disinfects, medicines?)
What should I look out for?
And also, If anyone knows good homemade humane(no-kill) mouse traps, can you send me the instructions?(I'm going to dump him far away from my house, so I'm not worried about him coming back in my house.) I want to get the little devil out of my house. NOW.
3 AnswersRodents8 years agoWays to reduce the odor of a male mouse?
Alright, so I've been relying on a site called the funmouse(or something.)
And I've only had this guy for a few days, and he's already a sweetheart. He's also already stunk up my room.
Now I've been following some rules to try and reduce the smell.
1) I remove wetspots once a day or everyother day.
2) I added a drop of vanilla extract to his water to try and biologically reduce the smell.
3) I have this odor control spray that I used on his bedding.
I've been thinking of switching to hay bedding instead of paper, cause I heard it's suppose to help the smell, but i realized his bedding is not where most of the smell comes from. It's his plastic excersize wheel!
Is there ANY other thing I can do to kill the odor?
2 AnswersRodents8 years agoDo male mice need companions?
I know female mice definately need companions.
But do male mice?
I've been researching it and I find mix answers.
Some people say that it's absolutely a nono to put male mice together because they'll bully each other until one of them is dead.
And other people say that the male mice will feel alone, depressed, and will die from THAT.
So which is it?
3 AnswersRodents8 years agoWhats the best way to handle a hamster?
Hamsters aren't my favorite little pet :C
In fact, Dwarf hamsters are my least favorite because they tend to be more aggressive and more bity.
I've been looking for a job at locol petstores, when I realized that I'd probably have to pick up hamsters. Even dwarf hamsters.
So out of curiousity, what's the BEST way to pick up a hamster with a higher chance of not getting bit? (If there IS one.)
2 AnswersRodents8 years agoDoes this rat have a Respiratory infection?
Hi
My friend has a little cute pet rat.
I shared my concern with her that I think he might have a respiratory infection,
1) He's very sneezy.
2) He's constantly cleaning his nose
3) I startled him once by accident and he made some kind of wheezy sounds.
4) He's from Petsmart, and I know it's not the best place to look for a healthy rat.
My only experience with respiratory infections in rats was with my own rat. The thing is though, his signs were more obvious. So does this sound like it would be the beginnings of a respiratory infection?
Also, I know of a vet that could take care of her rat, the same one who took care of mine. But should we trust Petsmart? They gave her a guarantee that the rat will be sent to the vet at their expense and cared for.
I'm not a big fan of their pet care, can I get an opinion their 'guarantee' ?
He's a very beautiful little ratty and he's surprisingly very tame, we'd like to help him before it gets worse :)
2 AnswersRodents8 years agoHow good is nutella, really?
I've been trying to lose some weight, but I still have a sweet tooth.
So lately, if I feel a desire for sweets or junk food, I chop up a bannana and I eat it with nutella.
Is this bad for me and my diet?
7 AnswersDiet & Fitness8 years agoHow frequently can a girl have her period?
In other words do women have periods more frequently then other women?
I feel as if as soon as I'm done one month, I'll just start up again in no time.
What would be considered a NORMAL menstrual cycle?
1 AnswerWomen's Health8 years agoWhy do cats massage with their claws out?
Whenever I see a content looking cat, they always dig their claws into something. Like their massaging it.
I know it has something to do with their mother's feeding time and I know it's because they're happy. But is there any SPECIFIC reason?
