  • We just had our septic tank pumped today. The man said our leech field was draining back into the tank and?

that we had two options....one was new system, will run from 8-10K, or a more afffordable option, Septic rejuvenation....2,000.00 I tried to look up some information, and anything that I find says that if the system is failing, that the leech field will be wet. Ours is not. He had me look in the tank and he showed me the water running back into the tank. My husband just got home and we looked in and there was no water running in from where it was earlier, Can he be mistaken? What should we be looking for as far as the system failing. I am just afraid the man was trying to sell us a service that we may not need. Sorry for the long winded question. Thanks

  • Why do some people just refuse to believe that not everyone wants to be mom/dad parent, and that not all women?

who place their child for adoption are coerced, bullied etc. It is 2011, we don't live in the dark ages anymore. My son's bm had no desire to be a parent, still doesn't. Very sad, but it's true..

  • Looking for a boxer puppy in Maryland?

Anyone know of Boxer puppies available in Maryland. I have been searching for a while. It seems some of the rescues never respond, I have tried the shelters too. I did have a response from NBR, and they are going to hold our application because we have a 5 year old. They say because they don't know there temperments. Very discouraging, as my son has been raised around boxers. They all also say yards MUST be fenced... We live on a 25 acre farm and our dogs are trained to stay on our property. We lost one of boxers a few weeks ago suddenly to cancer and want adopt another boxer nto our family. We did try to rescue two adults and it's just not a match for our dog. She has taken to puppies very well, guess she's not intimidated by them. If anyone can help, I would appreciate it. We are looking for young puppy, 3 to 4 months old. I have had dogs my whole life (I am 46) and find it very discouraging, that our son and a fence is holding us back.....no wonder people go elsewhere... ugh

  • We are rescuing a male boxer puppy, I have never had a male dog before, I was always under the?

impression that male dogs mark their territory. The puppy is already fixed :) I am just worried that the dog will spray on all the furniture. (We also have a fixed female boxer that is 6 1/2 yrs old, would that make the male pup want to mark more? Thank you for any help that you can give, this is a major deciding factor in rescuing the pup.

  • How is that a woman who has had an abortion, feels she has a right to be called a mother,I guess because?

she was pregnant, but will justify the abortion stating it's not a baby yet, it's just a clump of cells, there is no heartbeat,it doesn't breathe, it's not a baby it's a fetus, etc, They contradict each other. This is not a question about pro life, pro choice etc. what is wrong or right about abortion. So I guess what I am asking is How can you be a mother to something you claim is not a baby? I posted in adoption since there really is no specific category, and their has been so much discuss ion on it.

  • Need some other peoples thoughts please?

We just found out that one of our dogs is termially ill with cancer and there is nothing they can do to help her and she will be going to heaven tomorrow. My 5 year old son and her are the the bestest buddies. He knows she is sick as he has been helping us "take care of her" I explained to him before that it was time for Zoey to go up to heaven and be an Angel and he is devestated to say the least. I tried to "sugar coat" it for him by letting him know that she will be with Molly (our other dog, that we had for 14 years, that went to heaven this past October). He was very saddened when the first dog died, but it was a different relationship with them. They didn't interact alot, etc. because she was old and didn't really socialize a lot. But with our 2 boxers, they play 24/7, sleep together, etc. Any suggestions on things that may help him thru this. My heart is breaking to see his sadness. Thank you all in advance for any suggestions that you may have.

  • How come this happens:?

How come when someone in this situation...girl pregant and wants to have an abortion, and the father doesn't, she is told....it is YOUR body, YOUR decision, you are the only one who can decide, doesn't matter what he wants, etc but when the father doesn't want anything to do with the baby, they are told, take him to court, have him pay child support, he is the father and needs to take responsibility too, etc. If the girl decides to place the baby for adoption, the father has to fight for custody etc, If she decideds to keep it, he pays child support (which he should), but yet has no say in the abortion. The potential mother can have the procedure done and it's over with. Seems pretty one sided to me since this baby belongs to both of them,

  • I need someone to explain something to me. I don't understand the reasoning behind telli ng someone to?

abort their unborn child as apposed to placing it for adoption because by placing their baby for adoption, they will face a life time of sadness and emptiness and wondering if they did the right thing, etc. I'm not sure I understand this reasoning. It appears that what they are saying is that if you have an abortion, you leave the office and life goes on as it was before you got pregnant. Is there no sadness, regrets emptiness and a lifetime of wondering also if you made the right choice? That seems pretty cold. Can someone explain...

  • Everyone that is against adoption gives the advise that there is so much help out there, wic, social services,?

food stamps, free housing, etc. Well who do you think is paying for all of that, the hard working people, that go to work to support their family's. It seems you are all against us adoptive parents, but oh so quick for us to pay the way.. Why don't you educate them on GETTING JOBS, instead of living off the state, using birth control, instead of....there soooooo much help out there, go to social services...get everything out there that is available. That, in my opinion, is the easy way out....not adoption or abortion!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure I am going to ruffle some feathers, I always do, but as everyone says....I am entitled to my opinion. Hey I would loved for someone to buy my food, pay my bills, buy diapers and formula, heat my home, pay my electricity and pay for my housing but we had to have a job and stable income....someone having a baby should too!!!

  • So many adoptees and birthmothers talk repeatedly about being coerced and bullied into placing their babies?

for adoption, and I strongly agree that that does happen. How about the birthmothers that are bullied or coerced or forced to keep their babies by family friends etc when they do not want to parent. It goes both ways. I am aware of a few birthmothers that were "forced" to keep their babies when they absolutely did NOT want to parent. What do you think are the effects on the child growing up in this situation?

  • I saw a comment on here from an adoptee that says all infertile couples should just accept the fact that they?

can not have children and move on. My question is why? That is just like saying adoptees should just accept the fact that they are adopted and move on too....I'm not saying that is my opinion...just an example. I understand adoptees feel a loss and something missing. I am an adoptive parent, and also felt at a loss and that something was missing. Anybody elses opinion.?

  • Why so many views on adoption. Adoption is in our family and it has been a very posite experience for all?

of us. I do understand that things go wrong, and people go wrong but I don't think that is a reason to put down adoption. Most AP and adoptees are very happy completed families. I can remember my physician saying her belief of unexplained infertility..."I believe unexplained infertility is an act by God to give the children that can't be parented by their natural parents the opportunity to love, be loved and experience life. I have spoken to and met a lot of people, and have yet to hear any negative adoption experiences either by adoptive parents or children.
