My wife is from Eastern Europe and we sent off the I-751 to remove conditions before we apply for citizenship. We are waiting for them to send us the appointment date for her biometrics and it has been over 30 days since they received (and confirmed receipt) of all of our information, so we called to see if everything was ok and they said for us to wait another 45 days. All of our friends said that they received the appointment date within two weeks of immigration receiving their application. Anyone have this happen to them? What is going on - why do we have to wait so long? Do you think everything is ok? I am sure everyone that has gone through this knows how nerve wracking this is. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

How likely is it that we will be investigated by the INS and if we will, would they do surprise inspections? How closely do they watch us, if at all? We are 17 years apart in age and her sister lives close by. Should we take special precautions to prove our marriage? She does have her green card (got it about a month ago) and so far as we know, we have done everything we are supposed to do. I recently read that the INS considers our marriage a high probability of fraud because of the age difference, where she is from, and because the course of events surrounding her getting here and getting her green card happened quickly. Does anyone have a similar experience marrying a Ukrainian woman with a large age difference (greater than 10 years)? What should I be expecting?
