  • How to help with dog's anal gland issues?

My Beagle Duke just started scooting again tonight, less than two weeks after his last anal gland expression. My question is, what can I do to help him so he can go every month or every 3 weeks rather than every 10 days or so? They just switched from Acana Pacifica to Nutro Turkey and Potato (grain free) due to one of my other Beagles' allergies. His stool isn't incredibly small, but it isn't super firm either. Would adding a little pumpkin help? I don't care about cost with having his glands expressed frequently, but that can't be comfortable for him.

  • Should I change dog foods?

I was feeding my dogs EVO Weight Managements until the recall, and I switched them to Wellness Core (same first 5 ingredients). I noticed in the last few weeks their poop has been much much larger and pretty soft. Their anal glands have also needed expressed (on one dog, he had it done and 4-5 weeks later they were full again. The other dog had an almost-infected anal sac). Until now they seemed to be doing fine in that regard, so my question to you all is: should I change foods? Is the Wellness just not working for them? If so, what foods would you recommend? I'd like to stay with high-quality food, but I'm not dead set on grain-free. Any included grains should be high quality though, and I'd prefer single-protein (single grain also, if not grain free).

  • Good sewing project as a gift for the whole family?

I am looking to make cost-effective sewing-related gifts for my family. My mom is one of eight children and we're going to see her family in a few months. I want to make something for each of her siblings and their family. It is too expensive to make each person something individually, so I need ideas for something that I could make for the whole family.

    Thanks!

  • Cat afraid of children?

We've had my cat since she about 5 weeks old, someone giving them away after their female got pregnant. She's never been hurt by kids since we've had her, but hasn't really been exposed to them much either. Now if people, especially children, are over at our house she hides on the chairs pushed in at the table so they can't get to her. If they try to go near her she hisses or swats at them. I'm just wondering if anyone knows why she's so fearful of children and other people? We try to remind visitors that she doesn't like to be acknowledged unless she comes to you, but I feel bad that she's so stressed by even the nicest most animal-friendly visitors.

  • Cat had tapeworms--now what?

    Okay-so here's the gist:

My cat Gia came to us about a month or so ago as a stray that wandered up to our house. She was about a year old and very skinny but has since gained about 2-3lbs. She eats constantly but doesn't gain a lot of weight and the last couple days we noticed flat white wiggling little worms no bigger than a large grain of rice coming out of her butt (only about 3 or 4 in the last 2 days). I googled it and they do look exactly like shed tapeworm segments. Having been a stray, the vet said she most likely had worms and gave us wormer for her and the rest of our animals. She had fleas at some point before we found her, so we think that is where she got the worms. When we first took her to the vet a month or so ago she had a dose of wormer and then a week later had a flea treatment/prevention medicine. She had another dose of wormer tonight for her yearly dose.

So my question is: now what? How do we make sure she doesn't get worms again and that the worms are gone off the bedding and stuff so no people get sick either? She is flea free and the area she was in before the flea treatment is not carpeted or anything, but she is in a carpeted bedroom now. Should we just wash all the bedding in hot water to kill any tapeworm segments? Or what can we do to make sure no person or cat here gets tapeworms again.

  • How to sandwich quilts in little space?

I make mostly crib/wall quilts, but occasionally bigger. In any case, my tables aren't wide enough to tape down the backing and sandwich my quilt without significant overhang for any quilt. The biggest floor space that I have is carpeted. Is there a way to sandwich quilts in small sections or on carpet without paper piecing?

    Thanks <3

  • Organic Chemistry Required?

I am a double major in biology and anthropology. I have always struggled with chemistry, it is my worst subject by far. It says for my degree program organic chemistry is recommended but not required. But I've also heard if I want to go to graduate school, I have to have organic chemistry. I just want to find out what the repercussions will be if I do not take second semester organic chemistry.

    Thanks!

  • How much does it cost to have gemstones set in a bracelet?

I have a lot of small square peridot I want to have set in a tennis bracelet. If I went with a 10k gold for the bracelet, about how much would it cost to have the stones set? I'm not looking for an exact price, but a ballpark estimate would be wonderful. Professional knowledge or personal experience only please.

  • Need answer ASAP please! How do I solve this math problem?

One of the tasks on a new car design team is to determine the size of the fuel tank. At first approximation, you are assuming that the tank will be rectangular, hold 14 gallons of gasoline, and fit into a space that is 19.25 inches long and 42 inches wide. What would be the approximate height of the tank in inches?

    A. 3.50

    B. 4.00

    C. 5.78

    D. 6.42

    E. 57.75

Please give the answer and how to obtain it. Thank you!

  • Research paper topic help!?

I am interested in being a forensic pathologist and and looking to do a research paper on something in medicine. I need some help brainstorming some highly researched medical topics, since the paper must be 10-12 pages. I was thinking along the lines of swine flu or cancer, or how autopsy has led to discoveries in diagnostic medicine. If I don't do medicine, I also like urban legends such as Jersey Devil myths or Bermuda Triangle. THANK YOU!
