  • is this the right grammar? (lay, lie, laid, lied)?

Hi everyone. I want to know if I got my grammar correctly here.

Jane grabbed the pink dress from the closet and LAID it on the soft bed. She then LAY on the bed beside it and stared at the ceiling. Suddenly, she heard a suspicious noise from outside her door, followed by footsteps. Jane LIE motionless as she waits for the footsteps to disappear.

  • Which prepaid phone is the most reliable?

I want to get a cellphone for my mom but I don't want to add a line on my current plan and don't want to pay for another individual plan because she doesn't really need that much. She just needs it for emergency and occassional calls. So I am looking for a prepaid phone but can't decide which to get. I looked at Verizon and At&T and I am not satisfied with their rate. I looked at Walmart and found Sprint, Tracfone and StraightTalk prepaid phones.

So which is the most reliable, cheapest and easiest to use?

Also if you know any other prepaid phones/plans/service that is better but not one of those I mentioned, please let me know and describe it.

We are struggling financially and would really love to be able to get what we need without having to pay too much. I wish I can switch to prepaid phone myself but I am constantly using my cellphone and I use text because I am in college and I dropped my landline so my cellphone is our primary line.

  • Anyone knows a good fund raising idea?

We are nursing students from California. Our class is planning to do a couple of fund raising activities to help pay for our graduation ceremony. Can anyone give us ideas? Any input would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

PS. sorry about the category. I'm not sure which category this should be in or if there's even a category available for this from the options. I thought this was the closest to the topic (investment).

  • can you give me your opinion on AMD Athlon processor?

If you can give me an opinion based on personal experience using this processor, that would be even better. If you are a computer swizzplease don't explain things to me with tons of computer jargons without explaining what those words mean. I'm not that much of a computer literate.

I've always wanted to try making one of these....also is it hard to use???? I've never really drawn using a computer. I've always use pencil and oil pastel and have used oil paints a little bit.

  • how would you permanently delete a file/software from your pc?

ok this is not the regular deletion of files if that's what this is then I don't have to ask someone for help.

I know that if you delete a file from you pc/laptop that it's actually not really deleted. It's still there and someone who knows how to do it can still retrieve that file and look at it. So how do you delete a file/software COMPLETELY? Meaning it can NEVER be retrieve no matter what trick someone use.

REason why I'm asking is because I think in theory because someone can still retrieve it, it means that it's still in your computer's memory and therefore using up a space in it's memory which I think is a waste. And that's what I wnat to avoid. I want to save as much memory space as possible.

  • how can I upload photos more than 2MB at Friendster?

I uploaded the thing (I think it's a small program) from Friendster for Vista for uploading photos that are over 2 MB. I followed all the instructions. I uploaded the photos and click "finish" at the end of all the steps but when I logged in at Friendster I couldn't find my pictures. Where are they? What happened? I never uploaded photos bigger than 2MB before and it's obviously my first time doing it. So I have no idea what to do. Please help. I have these beautiful pictures that I want to upload and share with my family and friends.

  • What are the pros and cons of buying a refurbished computer?

I'm thinking of buying a new pc but I'm on a very tight budget. I have been following the prices of new and refurbished computers for about 6 months now and the current prices are the lowest I've seen so far. Just checked prices at Fry's.com and Bestbuy.com. Fry's has a lot of refurbished pc for a really good price. The question is, is it worth buying a refurbished pc? Obviously I don't know the answer to that so I'm asking you smart pc consumers for advice.

Please tell me what are the pros and cons of buying a refurbished pc and at what price range would you recommend buying a refurbished pc? Also would you even recommend buying it over a new system?

  • What kind of wine would be produced if you washed the grapes prior to crushing them?

Grapes has a natural fermenting agent in the form of wild yeast. But I know that wine makers still uses other fermenting yeast with it to ferment grapes. I think it's so they can control the taste better. Anyway, so what kind of wine would you produce if you wash the grapes before you crush them? Would that washed away all the wild yeast that's present on the grapes?

Also, I was thinking about copying a skirt from a cute high school uniform from an anime that I can just wear with my other casual clothes.
