Help detecting multiple IP addresses on my machine?
I was trying to sign up for a car forum and received a message stating, "Our server has detected the presence of multiple IP connections from your machine, with one of the connections being an "Open Proxy" or blacklisted IP."
I was denied access to the page. In trying to figure out what the issue is, I have reset my connection and router, changed my WPA2 password, and disconnected all other devices that were on my network. No matter what I do, the page continues to give me this message. I then disconnected and tried to register on the site using my tablet instead. However, I got the same message there.
What can I do solve this issue? I don't know where the other IP connection could be coming from.
2 AnswersComputer Networking6 years agoHow much would you pay for an 06 Tiburon GT with 81,000 miles?
I have been looking for a cheap second car, and a local dealer just advertised a 2006 Tiburon GT with automatic transmission for sale. It has 81,000 miles and only one previous owner (a VIN check backed this up). It also has the Infinity sound system and electronic sunroof, but other than that it appears to be the standard package. The ad claims it was fully serviced and has a new set of tires.
Blue Book lists the fair value at $6,600 with all the listed options. Edmunds gave a True Market price of $6,800, and NADA valued it at $7,300. However, the dealer is asking for $8,850.
For those of you who have driven/owned a Tiburon, what do you think is a reasonable price for this vehicle? Are there any known issues with this model that I should ask about? I am thinking about buying it if they can go down to the $7,000 range, but I would appreciate any knowledgeable advice.
2 AnswersHyundai6 years agoDo overtime yards count in high school football?
When a high school football game goes into overtime, each team gets four downs starting from the 10-yard line to score. My question is, do the yards gained in these downs count towards individual rushing and passing stats? For example, if a player had 100 yards at the end of regulation and ran five yards in overtime, does he end the game with 105 yards or just 100?
1 AnswerFootball (American)8 years agoWhat TV show does this sound like to you?
I'm in a creative writing class, and one of my classmates has turned in a manuscript that I believe is heavily plagiarized. I'm hoping some of you could read this brief synopsis and tell me what YOU think it sounds like.
1. A redheaded woman has anxiety over her boyfriend proposing to her. He's a floppy haired guy named Riley.
2. She excuses herself to go to the bathroom. While she's in the bathroom, a woman who looks exactly like her walks in, except this other woman is pregnant.
3. Just then a man appears out of nowhere, looks at the woman, and expresses his surprise that she isn't frozen. Then he tells her to come with him.
4. They run outside the restaurant and he pulls them through a portal in a rain puddle. They end up in a room that he calls the "Infinity Closet." It is full of doors that lead to alternate universes. He and his companions travel to alternate universes.
5. He tells her the "Dinisorax" are chasing them, and that they are an ancient race that evolved from dinosaurs.
Am I the only one that thinks this sounds like it was ripped straight out of a certain wildly popular sci-fi show, or am I just being too critical?
1 AnswerOther - Television8 years agoMen's Levi's that don't sag?
I used to have no problems with Levi's 514's and 505's, but the last couple of pairs that I bought seemed to fit lower on the waist and started sagging after a few hours of wear. I'm an average sized adult male, so I need straight-leg fit jeans. The relaxed fit jeans look sloppy, and I'm not about to wear skinny jeans.
I work as a photographer and do a lot of squatting and bending in full view of large crowds of people, so I can't have jeans that sag and gap in the lower back the way Levi's have been doing lately. I tried moving down to a size 33 from my usual 34, but those were just a tad too tight and actually made the problem worse.
Can anyone recommend a pair of semi-affordable, stylish jeans that sit high enough on the waist that I don't end up showing people my underwear?
1 AnswerFashion & Accessories8 years agoLegal issue with car accident?
I was recently driving behind a pickup truck on the highway when a large metal box fell out of the truck and hit my car. The box cracked part of my grill and scratched the front of my car, then was sucked under and maimed the plastic bar under there. I honked at the driver, but he continued driving and turned off at the next intersection. The bed of this truck was piled high with scrap metal and none of it was secured. This was during a noon traffic rush as well, so I had no way of getting in another lane to avoid the accident.
I was able to give police a description of the vehicle as well as the license plate number. I also went back and picked up what was left of the box that hit me. A few days later I received a police report in the mail stating that the police had located the man and that he had admitted to driving his truck, full of scrap metal, on that same road at the same time of day. The officer who spoke to the man gave him my phone number and asked him to call me.
After a week went by and the man failed to call me, I sent him a letter via registered mail explaining the situation and telling him to call me before I was forced to take the matter further. His phone number is unlisted, so I can't call him. Now he is apparently refusing receipt of the letter.
What are my legal options here? I have been told to go ahead and file a claim with my insurance company and that they would go after this deadbeat, but I have a $250 deductible that I can't afford right now and I'm worried that I'll end up stuck with the bill.
Is his confession that he was driving a truck full of scrap metal at the exact same time I reported the accident enough? He claims that he was unaware that he lost anything. I still have the box as well as pictures of it sitting by the side of the road, but that doesn't really prove that HE was the one responsible.
I live in Illinois, in case that matters.
5 AnswersLaw & Ethics9 years agoPass interference question?
In high school football, if the defensive team is called for pass interference, does the quarterback get credit for a completed pass, or are both the pass and the attempt negated and the yards only attributed as penalty yards?
1 AnswerFootball (American)9 years agoQuestions about yardage in football?
When doing stats for high school football, do losses of yards subtract from the team or individual totals?
For example, if Player A rushes four times and picks up 40 yards, then gets hit behind the line for a 5-yard loss on his next carry, does he then end the game with only 35 yards, or does he still keep the 40 yards he gained?
Then let's say his team had 250 yards overall, would that loss be subtracted from the team totals?
Also, I know if a team is penalized, the yards will be subtracted from their totals, but if the defense receives a penalty, are the yards added to the totals for the offense?
2 AnswersFootball (American)9 years agofootball stats - lateral from QB?
When a quarterback makes a lateral pass after the snap instead of a forward pass or a hand-off, does this count as:
1. a completed pass for the QB and a reception for the running back
or
2. only a carry for the running back
3 AnswersFootball (American)9 years agoQuick grammar question?
I'm editing a magazine article and just wanted some input on whether I am right about the use of "a" or "an." In the article, the writer refers to "a living learning community." But when she abbreviates it to "LLC" she continues to use "a" instead of switching to "an."
Should it be "a LLC"?
Or am I right in believing that it should actually be "an LLC"?
Thanks for your input.
6 AnswersWords & Wordplay9 years agoIs this the correct usage of the verb "pensar"?
I'm studying Spanish and having some issues because my textbook doesn't explain the use of the verb "pensar" very well. I know that it means "to think," but the book uses it with infinitives in our exercises.
The one that I am having an issue with says this:
¿Con quién piensas ir?
Does this mean, "With whom do you think you are going?"
It seems like an awkward construction, but I guess I am thinking in terms of English, where it reads to me as if it's saying, "With whom do you think to go?"
1 AnswerLanguages9 years agoAny good free audio recording software?
I used to use the Windows Sound Recorder that comes pre-installed on every computer, but a few years ago they remade it into the most frustrating accessory possible. You can no longer pause in the middle of recording and go back to record over part of a recording. Instead, when you stop the recording, it gives you the option of saving your file or continuing to record from the spot you paused it.
I have to record myself reading and answering questions for a Spanish class I'm taking. Since there are sometimes 20-30 questions in one lesson, every time I screw up I have to start all over again from the beginning. All I need is a simple, basic recorder with a time window that will let me back up to a certain point and record over my flubs. I'm not looking for anything high quality or professional.
I tried Free Sound Recorder from Cnet., but the editing process is too complicated for what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?
2 AnswersSoftware9 years agoName this sci-fi movie?
I'm trying to figure out the name of this movie, and I know the answer is probably pretty obvious. I just can't seem to think of it.
This is a more recent film, probably from the last 15 years. There is a scene with a group of aliens or possibly evil creatures. They look like humans except that they are tall and pale with bald heads, and they all dress in some kind of black, vinyl-looking robes. They look a lot like Pinhead from Hellraiser except they don't have the pins sticking out of their heads. They are standing around a table with some small black objects on it. That's all I can think of.
2 AnswersMovies9 years agohelp with burning dvd from matroska file?
I have a video in matroska format that plays just fine on my computer (I used VLC). However, after burning it to a DVD with DVD Flick and trying to play it, I found the audio was behind by about 30 seconds. Is this common with matroska files, and is there anything I can do to fix it?
1 AnswerOther - Computers1 decade agoName this '80' video?
It's set in the woods at night, there's a lot of fog, a beast-looking guy, and someone has a lantern. The song is a slower ballad.
2 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHelp with an .mpg video?
I just downloaded a 40 MB video in mpg format. When I attempted to watch the video it would only play for 40 seconds. However, if I run the video back to an earlier mark, it will begin showing another later segment of the clip. The video always ends when it reaches the 40 second mark, although the audio continues playing. Does this mean the file has been compressed, and if so, what can I do to get it to play the full video?
2 AnswersOther - Computers1 decade agoSong lyrics - Over now - Jason Mraz?
I heard a song that sounds very similar to Jason Mraz both vocally and musically but I can't find the name anywhere. The lyrics sound like he's saying "it's all over now, it's all over now, it's (no longer fun?), and (it's all gone down?), it's all over now."
There's a part at the end of the song where some of the lyrics sound like "tell me that you're sorry for the things, that you have lost, but oh, just look at the cost."
This song is a pretty simple one with mostly acoustic guitar. I've googled it and tried a number of lyrics sites, but can't find any information. I would really appreciate some help as this song is stuck in my head.
1 AnswerLyrics1 decade agoWho is this pop rock group?
I'm trying to remember the name of a really bad pop band that was popular for a while a year or two ago. The band members all pretty much dressed and acted like the Beatles with suits and floppy haircuts. They were basically what the Jonas Brothers are now except they were older. I remember them being on a lot of MTV and Fuse shows for a while and they always talked about how original they were even though they played extremely generic power pop. Their band name started with "The." They were mocked a lot by punk bands at the time. That's really all I can remember because they disappeared pretty quickly, thank God.
3 AnswersRock and Pop1 decade agoHow do I rename my personal folder in Windows Vista?
I was adding a new folder to my desktop earlier, and when I typed the name of the folder (Downloads) it also changed the name of the shortcut to my "personal folder" from my name to the letter "D." Since it is a personal folder and not a regular one, it doesn't have a rename option under the menu when I right click it. If I click it once like I normally do to rename a folder, it only beeps. The link under the start menu still had the right name, so I deleted the shortcut and restarted the computer. All this accomplished was that now my start menu link is also named D. I looked under User Accounts in Control Panel, but couldn't find a way to rename it there. Any suggestions?
4 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoQuestions about online brokers?
I am a newbie to investing and I have a few hopefully simple questions.
1. I am going to be investing cash only, not margin. Will I owe my broker anything other than commissions and/or maintenance fees?
2. I'm leaning towards using Scottrade, are there any brokers who might be better?
3. What is the difference between my available cash and my buying power?
4. I'm starting out with the minimum $500 balance. Would I be wiser to purchase more shares of a cheaper stock, or fewer shares of a more expensive stock? For example, if I had 20 shares of a $20 stock and it gained 4%, would it be any better than owning 40 shares of a $10 stock with the same gain?
Thanks in advance for your answers.
