  • Is this Obama's plan?

I think i figured it out... could this be Obama's plan for illegal immigration??

Make the economy go in the toilet and leave the border open; that way all of the illegal aliens return home.. then we can fix the economy and not worry about them??

SHEER GENIUS... why didn't anyone else think of this?1

it explains all of the decisions he makes when the economy starts to recover that send it back in the toilet!!

  • propaganda in tax cuts expiring?

Do you find it hypocritical that the same news agencies that reported the Bush era tax cuts as a "Tax cut for the rich" are now, with the tax cuts expiring, reporting them as Tax cuts on nearly every American?

  • Do you think the US is hypocritical about self rule?

The US pretty much requires other countries to have local votes for succession from Russia etc whenever they feel the local populace has cause to be unhappy with the central government..

yet the US has laws against succession itself... to you does this seem hypocritical?

  • Were you aware that in 2008 Iraq's death rate was lower than the US?

here are the nationbook numbers republished on wicki

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_...

The US ranks at 97 with a VERY respectable 8.27

    Iraq is 165 at 5.14

you might want to mention that to the next person that tells you we are wasting time with our troops in iraq...

<obtw the iraq death rate in 2000 was 6.4 so it has improved a lot

  • would you support Obama if he pardoned Bush?

In my opinion we as a nation have gotten way to involved in having congress and the courts investigate and pursue the executive branch I said it when they started impeachment against Clinton.. it got worse with Bush.. and if allowed to continue will be out of control when Obama leaves office... IMHO he <Obama> would be best served by blanket pardoning Bush as soon as he gets in office .. this would acomplish 3 things...

    1) his administration could deal strictly with the change he wants to create and not be tied up investigating the past

    2) it will stop the cycle of infringing on the executive branch

    3) it will help ease the tension between the parties...

would you be supportive of Obama doing this or not?

  • why do Obama followers have a problem with people wanting to see his REAL birth certificate?

understand .. .first what was published ont he web is NOT a birth certificate it is an announcement of birth, it is missing a LOT of pertinent data and it has been shown by several groups to be a fake...

i have seen responses like "show yours", "doesn't matter" etc to this rather simple request...

the fact of the matter is we are in effect interviewing Mr. Obama for a position of public trust... the requirements for this job are fairly simple and easy to meet.. asking proof that he meets those doesn't seem to be out of order for his interviewers <us the voters>

if the answer from him is he doesn't want to that is fine.. but my question is why do the obama supporters on here get so MAD about people asking?!?! it seems a reasonable question and one McCain has addressed.. i have never gotten mad about a reasonable question phrased politely about McCain and can't understand why Obama supporters are so angry that anyone would dare to question him.

  • where is the meat behind Bidens attack on Cheney?

Obama and Biden keep saying repeatedly that they don't' want any personal attacks in the campaign it should be about issues.,...

so i have waited patiently for Biden calling Dick Cheney the most dangerous VP in the history of the nation. but have yet to hear it....

can someone please show me where Biden has explained or justified this highly derogatory person assault on our VP??

    _______________________________________________-

and for those that want to say the VP is strictly part of the executive branch.. i would point to auricle 1 of the constitution that STATES CLEARLY the vp shall act as president of the Senate.

  • do you think obama's plan makes sense?

Obamas latest plan calls for congress to enable people to withdraw 15 % from their 401 k in cash and not pay penalty taxes on it.. just pay the deferred taxes... this will be applicable to 2008 and 2009 for 15 % <up to 10k >each year....

do you think it is reasonable in an age where VERY few people look like they will have enough money to retire... for our government to encourage people to steal from their retirement plans?

  • Do you understand what the proposed bail out is.. how it is designed to function and why it will help?

if you would like to know my rant is next.. but honestly i just want to know how many people understand what it is SUPPOSED to be doing...

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the current economy problems are caused by a lowering of average home value in the United states for a large number of very complex reasons...

bottom line is banks are forced to maintain a certain amount of cash on hand compared ot the value of the loans they have outstanding.

as home loans go into default their cash value goes down without their loan value going down leaving them "under capitalized" ... this simply means at first they can't loan money until they restore the balance.. normally they do this by shifting a certain percentage of their loans to other lenders..

right now EVERYONE is credit tight.. so NO ONE can loan anyone money... as much as we would like to deny it.. we are a credit bsed country.. no one pays for services on delivery in the corporate world.. bill us and we pay when we get the bill.. if money can't be lent that can't be done.

so the lending business is slowly grinding to a halt.. and with it most of the US economy <which by the way if it stops will drag the world down with it>

    -------------------------------------

now comes the tricksy part.... what is the bailout doing?!?1 after all if we just loan the lenders cash.. they still are under-capitalized and can't loan money.. no good.... so what the "Bail out" will do is set up a government agency which will BUY from the lenders loans that are weighing down their portfolio <hopefully both good and bad>... reducing the debt load of those lenders and freeing money up so cash can flow again...

the US government will the be left NOT with a "Loan" to the banks.. but with a portfolio of good and bad mortgages which if properly managed will actually end up making money for the government.

do i expect that to happen... no... liberals in congress will have problems with the federal government foreclosing on people that signed up for stupid mortgages and will come up with some kind of a plan they can blame the other side to absolve a certain percentage of the debt.

the rest will be renegotiated into good debt and sold back onto the market in a few years.

understand the plan was complicated originally and is now 3 times the size due to add ins by congress.. but that is the BASICS of what it is doing...

so if you read this far.. were you aware before hand.. of what the bail out was going to do?

  • should the federal government be funding unemployement?

the house of representatives has passed a bill that will extend by 50% the time that people can collect unemployment.. the program itself will be through the state unemployment agencies and people get the same benefits.. ti just lets them collect for 50% longer:

Do you think this is an area the federal government should be involved in why or why not?

  • Should the US consider modifying the 1'st amendment to exclude hate speech?

    http://www.iht.com/articles/2008/06/11/america/hat...

This is an interesting article on "Freedom of speech" only the US protect hate speech... all other western countries have laws against it.. in your opinion should the US consider an amendment to the 1'st that would ban hate speech.. why or why not?
