I don't think anyone should stoop to the level of a muslim that spit, urinate and burn the Bible and Christians as well.

This is so so so very wrong....What Christian community would desecrate another religions book of God? Why would anyone be so insensitive? What if this situation was reversed and the Holy Bible was being burned? Would it make it right? I don't see the point in what they are trying to prove by burning the Koran. There are consequences involved and I believe that they are over reacting to a situation that doesn't belong to them. Why would they want to jeopardize an entire nation because of what they believe is a resolution of retaliation? Who does that? That is not a true christian community who would do something so unGodly. It may be a freedom of speech amendment but I feel that someone should step in and stop what they are doing, It is going against everything the real Christian community believes and changes the freedom of religion that our country practices. We already are at war with our young men over there fighting for that so called "retaliation". If the war hasn't changed anything, what makes them think that burning the Koran will. These are willfully ignorant people who need to reread their bibles and relearn what christianity is really about. They need to be reminded what the bible teaches. I hope the media doesn't get involve and give this church any more attention. To repeat what the greatest man on earth spoke.."FATHER FORGIVE THEM, AS THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO," In my opinion they are no better than the ones who are responsible for the 911 attack. If they preach peace than they should practice it....

It should not be illegal, just like the burning of the flag. Freedom of symbolic speech. It is pretty ignorant though. There is no legitimate reason for burning it, other than if your goal is to send a message that you are intolerant to people who don't believe what you believe. I am a Christian, and I don't think the right way to reach people is through hate.

If my church ever did something like that, I would leave it.

Jesus preached love, not intolerance. These people who use his name in burning the Koran have misunderstood what he stands for. The Koran, I don't think, represents terrorists. I know a lot of muslims at my University who are normal people. They don't shove their religion in my face, and they are very smart.

    Burning the Koran is deplorable.

It is like desecrateing the American flag.

Both are despicable actions, but I do not think they should be illegal, because if either is made illegal the precident would allow governments to outlaw a great many political or religios statement.

Freedom of speech is necessary to keep a democrtic government functioning.

    The alternative is a dictatorship.

    Look at Iran.

Burning the Koran just gives the wacko Islamic extremists more reason to blow things up and act like deranged children.

    Better tactic: RIDICULE.

Let's be blunt: the Koran appears it was written by the worst writer in history. It is a mishmash, a jumble of incomprehensible nonsense, written so badly that it would take a team of editors just to make it readable.

Secondly, the Koran is based on the teachings of Muhammed, who was ILLITERATE. And how old was one of his "brides"? Eight? Oh yeah, like god is really going to have someone like this be his messenger.

    Ridicule. Best choice.

People burn our flag that brave people have died for to ensure that we have freedom of speech, just because you don't like what they are saying or doing doesn't mean that it is not important to them.

Just like TV. if you don't like it don't watch it.Freedom of speech is not freedom of speech if you only let people speak who have the same views as you do.

Some persons are flaring the blaze between Muslims and Christians . The consequences will be painful in this mad mad World !

  • Book burning in my opinion is abhorrent it's censoring plain and simple. Also know which place was most famous for book burning it was Nazi Germany. I don't care what the book contains burning it is a crime against authors and free thinkers.

It's rude and kinda stupid but it shouldn't be illegal. I think the exact same thing about the mosque in NYC. Both are rude and stupid but shouldn't be (and aren't) illegal.
