If you have ever wondered about the government’s ability to control the civilian airwaves, you will have your answer on November 9th.

On that day, federal authorities are going to shut off all television and radio communications simultaneously at 2:00PM EST to complete the first ever test of the national Emergency Alert System (EAS).

This isn’t a wild conspiracy theory. The upcoming test is posted on the Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau website.

Only the President has the authority to activate EAS at the national level, and he has delegated that authority to the Director of FEMA. The test will be conducted jointly by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) through FEMA, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) National Weather Service (NWS).

In essence, the authority to seize control of all television and civilian communication has been asserted by the executive branch and handed to a government agency.

The EAS has been around since 1994. Its precursor, the Emergency Broadcast System (EBS), started back in 1963. Television and radio broadcasters, satellite radio and satellite television providers, cable television and wireline video providers are all involved in the system.

So this begs the question: is the first ever national EAS test really a big deal?

Probably not. At least, not yet.

But there are some troubling factors all coming together right now that could conceivably trigger a real usage of the EAS system in the not too distant future. A European financial collapse could bring down U.S. markets. What is now the “Occupy” movement could lead to widespread civil unrest. And there are ominous signs that radical groups such as Anonymous will attempt something major on November 5th- Guy Fawke’s day.

Now we know in the event of a major crisis, the American people will be told with one voice, at the same time, about an emergency.

All thats left to determine is who will have control of the EAS when that day comes, and what their message will be.

(ABC News) — With the approval of the Obama administration, an electric car company that received a $529 million federal government loan guarantee is assembling its first line of cars in Finland, saying it could not find a facility in the United States capable of doing the work.

Vice President Joseph Biden heralded the Energy Department’s $529 million loan to the start-up electric car company called Fisker as a bright new path to thousands of American manufacturing jobs. But two years after the loan was announced, the job of assembling the flashy electric Fisker Karma sports car has been outsourced to Finland.

“There was no contract manufacturer in the U.S. that could actually produce our vehicle,” the car company’s founder and namesake told ABC News. “They don’t exist here.”

Henrik Fisker said the U.S. money so far has been spent on engineering and design work that stayed in the U.S., not on the 500 manufacturing jobs that went to a rural Finnish firm, Valmet Automotive.

“We’re not in the business of failing; we’re in the business of winning. So we make the right decision for the business,” Fisker said. “That’s why we went to Finland.”

The loan to Fisker is part of a $1 billion bet the Energy Department has made in two politically connected California-based electric carmakers producing sporty — and pricey — cutting-edge autos. Fisker Automotive, backed by a powerhouse venture capital firm whose partners include former Vice President Al Gore, predicts it will eventually be churning out tens of thousands of electric sports sedans at the shuttered GM factory it bought in Delaware. And Tesla Motors, whose prime backers include PayPal mogul Elon Musk and Google co-founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, says it will do the same in a massive facility tooling up in Silicon Valley.

Michael Moore tells CNN’s Anderson Cooper that capitalism as we know it is over. Moore say capitalism is where “the problem” is. Moore was broadcasting from “Occupy Oakland.”

“So, let’s not use the old definition where we think — when we say capitalism, we’re talking about 2011. 2011 capitalism is an evil system set up to benefit the few at the expense of the many. That’s what happened, and that’s what people are tired of. Which is too bad for the capitalists because I think a lot of people, perhaps in this crowd, probably used to support the ‘old-style’ of capitalism,” Moore said on CNN.

“So, what system do you want?” Anderson Cooper asked Moore.

“Well there’s no system right now that exists. We’re going to create that system. This movement, this movement in the next year, or two, or few years is going to create a democratic economic system. That’s the most important thing. Whatever we come up with it has to have at its core — the American people are going to be the one’s controlling this economy. We’re going to have a say, a big say, the say in how this economy is run,” Moore said.

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said President Barack Obama will “continue” to act “independently” without congressional authorization to “benefit the American people” as part of the White House’s “We Can’t Wait” campaign.

“He [Obama] fully understands that the kinds of things that are contained within the American Jobs Act require congressional action, require laws being passed, and that’s why he’s pressing for Congress to take action legislatively,” Carney told reporters on Monday at the White House.

A very talented artist for several years has painted ornaments to be hung on the various White House Christmas trees. The WH sends out an invitation to send an ornament and informs the artists of the theme for the year.

She got her letter from the WH recently. It said that they would not be called Christmas trees this year. They will be called Holiday trees. And, to please not send any ornaments painted with a religious theme. She was very upset at this development and sent back a reply telling them that she painted the ornaments for Christmas trees and would not be sending any for display that left Christ out of

Christmas.

The Occupy Wall Street crowd says that it represents "the 99 percent." But what percentage of this movement really wants a better life for the people of this country who have been hurt by the economic policies of the current administration? Is it the 45 percent who recently told pollsters that they feel capitalism "can't be saved"? Or the 35 percent who said that the U.S. government is "no better than al Qaeda"? Or the 31 percent willing to engage in violence to support its agendas?

Is it the members of the Communist Party USA who helped organize the OWS demonstrations in Los Angeles and received a loud ovation when they addressed the OWS demonstrators in Chicago? Or the members of the American Nazi Party who supports the OWS movement because some protestors have a similar view about the evil of "Jew bankers"?

No, the "99 percent" does not represent the majority. Not even close. It is the same small fraction of leftists who have been looking for a vehicle to launch a fatal attack on the foundations of America since the 1960s. But the media are buying their story about representing middle America, and Barack Obama and the Democrats are cynically using them to further the class warfare they are waging. .
