Because that's exactly where the democrat party wants them. That way they remain poor, uneducated, on some sort of Government assistance and voting Democrat.

You need to adjust that. MOST children raised in poverty, are in or near poverty 30 years later. Very few are comfortably middle class or wealthy.

I would say, outside of luck and circumstance, parents are probably the difference. Some parents make extreme personal sacrifice to try to get their kids a few of the advantages upper middle class and rich kids are born with. Those kids probably have the best chance in life.

Define "poverty", please. It's a RELATIVE TERM.

1 (big) TV, 1 car, a home with a roof and floor (other than dirt), cable TV, 1 cell phone and 3 meals a day does NOT = "poverty", when defined by worldwide standards.

The American living in "poverty" has a better standard of living than the AVERAGE (not poor) European. Ever been to Europe? Ever see how the "middle class" there live? You'll come back and kiss the soil in even the most un-affluent parts of America, trust me. You can get a good education without spending 100K; a public library is a great place to start, but many parents prefer to spend time and effort on shoes, clothing, cellphones or other worthless things....

A targeted, relevant education is what makes the difference. I.e., do not go to college and major in Latin. You will be an unemployed mugwump; major in chemistry or medicine and your education will provide financial opportunities for you.

That's too wide a question to simply answer. But largely, it comes down to attitude on the part of the parents, I think.

If parents have no drive to work, then their children won't either. That's the cycle of poverty. But many people are poor but work hard. If that's the case, this passes on, and their children might work their way out of poverty.

My grandparents were all poor, but hard working. My parents (and aunts and uncles) are all successful, because they inherited a strong work ethic.

In the U.S., social mobility is practically non-existant, especially for the very rich and the very poor. Those few who manage to escape poverty are those who take advantage of government scholarships and other forms of financial aid, and those who get a lucky break, marry a wealthy woman, or sell drugs.

It's a mixture of luck and will power.

Luck being that they get a decent enough education to actually get somewhere. Maybe even meet the right people who can lift them out of that poverty

Will power being that they push through all the negativity and people trying to hold them back and try their hardest.

depends on why they were in poverty. (single parent, vs 2 parents vs raised by a grandparent)-- for example, what learned or failed to learn from it (poverty sucks and being in poverty isnt neccesary) and of course how driven to succeed that made them.

Children tend to be the product of their environment. The smart ones who are able to discern the benefit of a different lifestyle than they were subject to, and are able to pull themselves up and out of this dire situation. They have a desire to better themselves. Been there, done that!

For the same reasons abused children grow up to be abusers...they know nothing else and don't wish to learn anything that will help to change their circumstances.

The people who are raised poor will probably be poor when they grow up. One reason can be that they will not have quality education
