If you were president, how would you get the troops out of the Middle East?

Untie the hands of our military, let them go Roman on the enemy, and actually end the war, not just our involvement in it.

We can't prevent it from happening, we should care only about our own troops.

The people in Afghanistan have been killing each other for centuries, in fact historically the only time that they aren't killing each other is when they are invaded by a foreign force. Us, Russia, Britain, Alexander the Great, etc.

That place is a nation killer, every single country that has tried to occupy Afghanistan has broken apart.

There is no way to make the Middle east live by our standards, so there is no easy solution. They are a OLDER society than we are, and to try to change it is just stupid.

We live in a modern world, but, we as a world will never be one.

In Vietnam, we pulled out during combat. In both Iraq and Afghanistan, we have a local army to cover any withdraw. The dynamics are completely different.

The president is commander-in-chief of the armed forces, so it would be as simple as saying, "Everybody on the planes. Now."

I would have never sent them in there in the first place, but then I am not a republican.
