Has anyone ever truly 'earned' everything they have?

Do you think anyone is entirely self made?

The difference between socialism and cooperation is force or freedom.

If you CHOOSE to cooperate with others for mutual benefit, that is cooperation

If you do it because you want to, that is cooperation.

If you do it because the government requires you to, that is socialism.

Under socialism people stop cooperating and only do what is required of them

Socialism always degenerates into an impoverished dictatorship

Everyone suffers.

There is a threshold where ever more cooperation stops enhancing everyone and starts draining them. The common drain is at the collection point. Typically that's government. The larger socialist societies -- all enforced ones -- have failed because of reasons you noted and a couple more.

The bureaucrats with keys to the warehouses raid them for their friends and families. That, the slacking off of people not independently dedicated to such societies, and the family-devotion not community-devotion of most cultures has ruined nearly all such efforts. Only some northern European cultures -- like the Viking descendants with thousands of years of community orientation and Calvinist Protestant sects with innately socialistic practices -- have been successful for extended periods.

Source(s): For decades I studied philosophies, cultures, and social institutions. I began that because of confusion resulting from my military experience under the shadow of neo-Marxist anti-military and anti-capitalism indoctrination in the universities.

You are one thousand percent wrong in your idea of what socialism is.

    You want to see "suffering?"

    LOOK AROUND YOU.
