I am 27 years old. I am happily married with two beautiful children. Not a whole lot to say about me other than I love the Lord and enjoy living for Him. I am fervently working for the Lord in order to tear down the walls of legalism and show people how to walk in the liberty of the Spirit through the love of Christ.

  • Does God allow a Christian marriage to fail?

Does God allow a Christian marriage to fail if it was out of his will to begin with? Obviously there are too many variables to discuss here and the internal dynamics of each relationship is different, but just generally speaking will God bless a marriage born out of his will if both people are trying to serve him?

  • Can someone define the English word "palace" with Greek meanings?

I'm studying Luke chapter 11 verse 21 that speaks of a strong man armed keeping his palace until a stronger than he comes and overcomes him. I'm wondering if the word palace has any connection to the word stronghold found in 2 Corinthians 10:4. Thanks

  • Is TiVo really worth it?

I was considering purchasing a Roamio Pro TiVo unit with several minis so I could have whole home DVR service. Right now I'm a cable subscriber and I have to pay monthly rates on my set top boxes which included 2 dvrs. What I am obviously wanting is whole home dvr service with the ability to watch and play back any recording on any tv. So I call TiVo up and I'm asking about pricing and I find out even though you purchase the equipment, which is expensive I might add, you still have to pay a monthly subscription on each device you have. I honestly think it's a complete rip off. Any thoughts? Thanks!

  • Predestination, Free Will or Both?

I'll try to get strait to the point but still make sure you have all the details.

I was raised Pentecostal with the belief that once saved by free will that there is the possibility of backsliding or losing your salvation. Over the past 10 years the Lord has really opened my understanding to scriptures that have made me take a second look at this belief. A few years back the Lord showed me that faith is always expressed with obedience. For example, Noah heard from God, moved with fear, and built the ark. So faith came by hearing, and the hearing came from the Word of God. In other words, Noah heard from God, believed God and obeyed God. The basic equation of faith. So with that in mind, I then understand that according to Ephesians 2 that I am saved by grace through faith, and not of works lest I should boast. I was drawn by the Spirit, convicted of sin, presented by the Spirit Christ's finish work on Calvary, and surrendered my will to Him. So to my understanding, I couldn't accept Christ except I heard by the Word of God(drawing of the Spirit), which produced faith in me to believe on his name. And then, demonstrated that faith by trusting in Him with all that is in me. So for me my salvation is not maintained by works, but by faith which is expressed in my choosing to obey. So not too long ago I seen something in the story of Peters denial that I had never seen before. It was that Christ (a)had foreknowledge of Peter's denial(b)Had prayed for Peter beforehand(c)said Peter would be converted. As we all know Peter fulfilled this prophesy to the T. So, that makes me wonder if according to God's foreknowledge that he knows all my mistakes and has already accounted for them in his plan for my life. The bible says in Hebrews 12 that Jesus is the author and finisher of our salvation. Philippians 1:6 says that he who began a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. I believe that God is His own Word so this parable could apply to him as well as us. Luke 14:28 says what man who desires to build a tower doesn't sit down first and count the cost to see if he has enough money to finish what he has started? So if he starts building us when we get saved has he already counted the cost to make sure he can complete in us what he has started?

I don't believe in Calvinism by any stretch. Mainly bc the bible teaches that it is God's will that all should come to repentance. If I understand Calvinism right, there is an elect or select people that are predestined to be saved and no matter what they will be saved. And by the same principle there are people destined for hell no matter what. This is all based on the belief that God's sovereign will, will be done. But if that is so, then all mankind down through the ages will be saved in light of 2 Peter 3:9. Obviously that is not the case because the bible plainly teaches that whoever rejects Christ will spend eternity in the lake of fire. So free will plays a part. So my bottom line question which hinges on Romans 8:29&30 that says whom he did foreknow, he predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son....whom he did predestine he called, who he called he justified, who he justified he glorified. In my estimation, God's call to salvation is to all, but only some will answer. According to God's foreknowledge he has predestined those who heed the call. So is that how predestination and free will work together? All thoughts are welcome!

Sorry in advance for the poor grammar.

  • How to deal with people who do others wrong?

Ok need some advice. Last fall I got asked to help coach a little league coach pitch team. This is an already established team. They mainly needed someone who could pitch to the kids and being a former pitcher through school, I agreed to help. I just found out tonight that I replaced a former coach who's son is still on the team I might add, without him being told he was replaced. I knew he was a coach before but I thought maybe he just decided he didn't want to help. I'm thinking about confronting the head coach about this and stepping down because I have strong feelings about things like this. If they didn't want him coaching fine, but dont' let someone found out by showing up for the 1st spring practice to find out he's been replaced. Please give some advice. Thanks!

  • Does my AV reciever actually produce true surround sound?

I have a Yamaha RX-V367 AV receiver that I don't think actually has true surround sound capabilities. While I do have sound on all 5 speakers simultaneously, I'm just not getting them separated. I believe dialogue should be coming from front and center speakers while miscellaneous sounds such as a gunshot or creaking door should be coming from rear speakers. The specs say that it doesn't have Dolby True HD or DTS-HD decoding. Are these functionalities what I'm missing to get the true surround sound effect? I've played with all the settings on the receiver and just can't get it to produce a true surround sound. I've connected a blu ray player to the receiver with an hdmi cable and played Avatar, but it just produces an even sound on every speaker. Please help. Thanks!

Then I ahve the reciever connected to the tv with an hdmi. Ok, so I'm getting sound on all my speakers, but I'm not getting specific sounds on the rear speakers. • How to alter the wiring of a subwoofer?

I have dvd/surround sound combo unit I purchased about 8 years ago. I'm purchasing a new reciever that is not a combo unit but I'm planning on using the speakers I already have from the old system. My only problem is that the subwoofer does not have any inputs for speaker wire. It's a powered subwoofer that is connected to the dvd player. All the other speakers are wired into the back of the subwoofer. How can I use this subwoofer with a new system? Thanks!

I know now that Wolfsschanze is one translation, but I was told it actually is more accurately used as a military term than an actual wolfs den.

Can I get sued by someone who breaks into my home and gets injured in the process? I have a German Shepherd currently in personal protection training. I'm wondering if I could be liable for injuries a burgler would sustain from a dog bite.

  • My German Shepherd is starting to nip at people?

I have a 15 month old male German Shepherd that has been well socialized, but all of the sudden is starting to nip at people. It has happened twice and only with strangers in my yard. They reached down to pet him and he nipped at them. He didn't make contact, but more like a warning. Why all of sudden the change in behavior?

  • Why won't my central heat and air cool my house?

This is the third summer in the house I bought and every year it's the same thing. Once we hit triple digits my unit will not cool our house down. The coolest it will go is around 80. That's if we turn it on after we get off work around 5. We've had professionals come out and look at it and all they can tell me is my roof is black and my unit is not name brand. The unit is only 6 years old, the duct work is in decent condition and the unit is the appropriate size for my house. My house was insulated very well when it was remodeled with the exception of the attic. That's the only thing left that I see could improve. Any suggestions?
