My car was kind of jerking when the accellerator was pressed, but only when I was going about 35-45 mph. And the "check engine" light has always been on since I bought the car. The previous owner said don't worry about that, because that little light has always been on for the past 50,000 miles. So what causes that jerking when I reach 35 mph? And now it seems to be getting worse. And what does it mean when that jerking happens more often and at other speeds, and the "check engine" light isn't just on, but starts flashing? I hope one of you knowledgeable people will help me because this worries me. Other than that, the car seems to run fine.

Sometimes I feel that the anonymous remove of interraction with others via a computer, rather than in person, is robbing me of my sense of humanity. Do you share this feeling to any extent? The feeling leaves me feeling empty and somehow lonely, as though I am not fully participating in and experiencing the world as I should be. Maybe I am just weird, huh? What do you think?

I had a split in the heater hose and I spliced in a repair, which I thought would correct my overheating problem, but the car still overheats shortly after starting it and driving it for a mile or so. What could the problem be?
