  • I am 19. How do I have child support on my behalf sent to me?

I am 19. I am in college, so my dad still pays my mom child support for me. I live on my own, and I don't receive any of the money she is paid. She occasionally buys me a few groceries, but it doesn't help very much and I am still barely scraping by. A friend mentioned to me that I can sign a form and have my dad's child support forwarded directly to me (I live in Missouri, btw). How do I do this?

  • I need chemistry help!?

I'm working on my enzymes lab report for AP Bio, and there are a series of analysis questions from our teacher that I am to answer and include in the lab. The problem is, one of them is chemistry-based and I have never taken chem:

The formula weight of pyrocatechol (catechol) is 110.11 g/mol. How many grams of pyrocatechol would you need to make 250.0 ml of a 0.01 M solution? Show calculations.

Any help given would be greatly appreciated!

  • What does it mean to challenge yourself?

I am writing an Original Oratory (it's a speech and debate thing) about the importance of challenging ourselves, and questioning the world around us. The one dilemma I have experienced yet while writing it is taking the emphasis off scientists and philosophers, and bringing it down to the level of community members who will judge me at tournaments.

I'd like to get some general opinions on what curiosity and life's challenges mean to you personally - I can think of several examples, but it would be greatly beneficial to hear viewpoints, opinions, and even life experiences of others.

  • Makeup brands for the suntan-challenged?

Anyway, I am very, very pale - I've had porcelain-like skin for as long as I can remember. I've been using the Physician's Formula mineral foundation/loose powder line, in the lightest shade - Classic Ivory. I don't think it looks natural on me; it has slight yellowy undertones that my skin does NOT have. Are there any makeup lines that have shades suiting the suntan-challenged population, like myself? I know it's a dorky question, but hey, I want to look my best.

(And no, I'm not interested in using bronzer, or getting a tan...)

  • I need to find a poem that reads at least 7 minutes long and isn't crap. Can you help me?

Okay, so I do Speech and Debate at school. I'm doing poetry as an event next week, and I haven't found a poem yet. It needs to read about 7 minutes long, so I need to find a book/internet resource of somewhat lengthy poems. I've found a few poems in the old books at the library, but they're all kind of vague and I'm not sure I even know what they're about (I'd really like a poem about an emotional subject that is more descriptive). Ideally, I prefer more modern works, but anything's great. I can do cuttings if you know of any especially long poems that you think would have a lot of impact.

  • Don't be ashamed...what are some bands everyone else loves, but you personally can't stand (or even hate)?

On this one, I'm going with the following:

    AC/DC

    KISS

    Fall Out Boy

    U2

    Lynyrd Skynyrd

    Panic! At the Disco

    Avril Lavigne

    Nirvana

I know there's a few others, but I'm kind of blanking out right now.

  • How long does it take for wisdom teeth to fully grow in?

My dentist told me that my wisdom teeth were going to come in nicely and I was going to have enough room for them on my last checkup (it's time for me to go again soon). Unfortunately, he warned me that it's like a baby cutting teeth, they'll be in a lot of pain and get fevers even though they have enough room for the teeth.

So...I've had pain in the very back of all 4 corners of my mouth for the last 2 weeks. My jaw is stiff and I've been getting fevers. I can even see a little bit of white on my bottom right. There's no doubt in my mind that it's my wisdom teeth.

How much longer will it take for them to grow in, just on average? Any advice you can give me to ease the pain?

  • Is there a way to keep sweaters from peeling?

I bought this really nice tunic length sweater from Old Navy last summer that fits absolutely perfect and is so comfy. Only problem is, it started peeling up really badly before I even washed it. I realize there's likely nothing I can do now about the fact that it is peeled up (if there is, tell me!), but I'd like to know if there's anything I can do to prevent sweaters from peeling in the future.

  • Would African American hair products work on my hair?

I have thick, curly, coarse, dry, frizzy hair. I have tried every curly/frizzy/dry/severe damage shampoo, conditioner, and serum under the sun, and nothing even begins to work. Straightening my hair helps, but it leaves it so dry and coarse, even though I use flat iron spray. I've been told I have "black girl" hair before by stylists, but I've never really been told if I could use African American hair products. I've also been told before that a hot oil treatment would be good for my hair. What do you think?
