  • Can someone help a forgetful old man out?

I know the solution is simple but for the life of me cannot remember it's been so long since I actually thought about it. Internet searches insist on telling me the price after 20% is taken off which is the exact opposite of my question so I'm here to ask you good folks. I'm trying to remember the formula to get the original price of lets use an items sale price is $140 after 20% off. Can someone show me the work on how to get back to the original price? I would appreciate it.

  • RAM Question?

Just how far do the numbers need to run to be a good match. The DV7 I have has 1rx8 pc3-10600s-09-10-zzz in it. Would rx8 pc3-10600s-09-11 be a fine fit?

  • I don't know where else to ask this?

First off I'm a man. There are these belts that I but can only be found online so there is not trying it on first. I'm a bit confused as to sizing. I wear size 33 pants and they are loose where they sit. If I run a tape around the exact area the pants sit I get a 38 inch measurement LOL. I'm just not sure what to go by here when ordering the belt. They suggest I go two sizes higher than my pant size but

that would leave me 3 inches short of what my hips swell to when they see a tape measure coming.

  • Refurbished computer question?

My nephew bought a refurbished PC that came with windows 7 and the COA it also has the original COA for XP Professional. I'm looking for an XP computer to play an old game with and he has gotten a new laptop so I'm thinking about buying this one from him. My question is are both of those COA's stil valid for this machine because I would want to restore it to XP?

  • Where do mountain lakes get their water?

Why do mountain top lakes never go dry? I was wondering because this place we travel to has a huge lake up by the peak and it never seems to go down. Even after all the snowmelt and during the dry season it just stays full but constantly has water running out of it by streams. So where does it get its water when it’s not raining and there’s no snow melt going into it?

  • How long before I can play a Ukulele decently?

Like the title says how long does it take before a person learns a decent amount of songs and is not nuisance if they have no experience with any type of instrument? I realize this all depends on the amount of time put into practice and ones learning ability. Lets just say I'm an average learner and am able to give an hour a day to practice. What am I looking at being able to do with 6 months put in? I realize it's a life long process and that's what everyone says when others ask but no one seems to be willing to give a person some idea as to how long it will be before they are rewarded with actually being able to do something useful and entertaining which is what I'm interested in knowing.

  • Laptop power problem?

I just got an HP 8510p laptop. It had a 150w power adapter and a 14.4v/73wh battery in it. The problem is the laptop will suddenly shut off for no reason. When I try to restart it gets anywhere from 2 seconds into the process to almost booted up then shuts down and automatically tries to restart itself over and over with the same results. This is with me only hitting the power button once. I’ve looked up new batteries and power adapters and they are running 65w on the power adapter and 11.1v on the battery. Should I go this route? Is this what should have been in the laptop to begin with? I forgot to mention right now it seems to be running fine when I pulled the battery and use my uncles 65w power adapter. I’m guessing someone put the wrong equipment with it before they sold it me. Before you go telling me to get rid of it and get a better laptop, No! I just had a new i5 processor, 17in 1tb laptop that I got rid of because I do not use them much but cannot live without one. Besides this laptop looks just like it came out of the box and all the components are almost a match for the one I got rid of at 1/10 the price. I just want to get the power issue straightened out.

  • 41.9 Gb of information I cannot locate?

I have went to my C: Drive which is the only drive showing and made all files visible by unchecking 1. Don't show hidden files and folders and drives 2. Hide empty drives on the computer 3. Hide extensions for known file types 4. Hide protected operating system files. Then I selected all to see properties. The total was 50.5 Gb but my system shows 92.4 Gb in use. I'm curious as to where and what this could be if it is not on the drive. My other laptop using the same exact edition of window 7 64-bit and the same programs is only using 33.3 Gb. Does anyone know why this might be?

  • Dell Inspiron N7010 recovery disks?

I have a Dell Inspiron N7010 2.53ghz i5 with windows 7 64-bit the recovery drive will not work on. It also has no Data Safe option through the program menu. I have lost or misplaced the rescue disks I burned for it when I moved. I am unable to find anyplace online to purchase replacements and Dell only offers them to people who are still under warranty which I am not. Does anyone know someplace I can purchase replacements?
