her opiate musk intoxicates the student in her studies

and finds the painter frenzied at his canvas

she labors long and bloody under the nimble fingers of the distracted writer

until art (still wet from the womb) cries out tremulous

and wakes the drowsy statesman from an easy sleep

the new mother sings triumphant to the masses

A friend recently told me that she had seen a news report that some women who have been given date rape drugs have reported reoccuring blackouts (sometimes triggered by even small amounts of alcohol). This information was based on anecdotal evidence, and I've not been able to find any studies on the long-term effects of these drugs other than studies done on chronic users of club drugs. Does anyone know anything about this, or had an experience with it?
