My 3 year old Shih-tzu ate a bunch of raisins (20 or so) and we took her to the emergency clinic where they induced vomiting for her and we saw that most of the raisins got out. They recommended that they give her activated charcoal and fluids but we weren't sure if it was worth the cost or if the doctors just wanted more money.

I'm a 15 year old girl (well 15 in a week) and I'm only 5 ft tall! D: My mom is 5'3'' and my dad is 5'6''. I can't get a lot of exercise because my teacher assigns everyone a lot of homework. I'm wondering if I can still grow taller. I got my period really early (5th grade -_-) and I haven't been growing much. It's so annoying to see all my friends growing taller than me and little me has always been shorter than everyone else. I don't take vitamins because I end up forgetting lol. Can I still grow taller? I stretch my legs everyday as well.

I actually never had this problem until 2-5 months ago but it's been really hard to poop for me. I'm only 14 and I feel like I poop shards of glass when the poop comes out (not inside) It's really painful to take a poop. I asked my mom about it and all she said was that I should eat more veggies and drink more water. I really hope it's not a herrmoid or whatever, I checked it out myself and there's no "swelling" or whatever it looks pretty normal I guess. When i wipe, there's some fresh bright red blood but not a whole lot, maybe a couple drops? It's really hard to poop but afterwards I just forget about it. Please help!

I'm a freshman in one of the top 100 schools. It's so competitive there and I got my finals grade back and I have 2 B's - in geometry enr. (a harder geometry class) and p.e. Will this hurt my chances of getting into a prestigious college? I know stanford is way out of reach, but I live in california and I plan on going to UC Berkeley. At my school, they don't count the +s or -s so even if you get a 89.99999% it counts as a B. I WILL work much harder next semester for both of those classes, I just want to know how this will affect me. Thank you so much I'm so stressed out and it's vacation time right now.

I go to one of the top 100 schools in the countries (like #98 lol) and I want to go to a prestigious college. I know that I probably won't make it to Stanford, I probably wouldn't even like it there. I am planning on going to UC Berkeley because that is basically the second best from Stanford.

Here's the problem. My school does not put the +s or -s on the transcript, so if I got an A-, it would show up as an A. If I got a B+, it would show up as a B. Not good. I have a B in P.E and Lit./Writing. I worked as hard as I could, but since I've just moved here and coming from a slacker middle school, obviously "hard-working" is not the same as here. I have asked my Lit./Writing teacher to see if she could give me extra credit to raise my grade, but she has given out extra credit before but she said that you should not let it take over your life so I didn't do it. A project I failed brought my grade down to a B+ and I'm really worried that colleges won't even look at me. I promise myself that I'll do better next semester but still.

Should I talk to my counselor about this? It is finals week and I really don't have the time to go and talk to them. If you have any suggestions, please let me know. I also hear that UCs don't look much at freshman year but Berkeley is more selective, which worries me. Thank you in advance!

I was born in Guam, which is a US Territory, therefore I am a US citizen but my heritage is Chinese. Both of my parents were born in China. I know that China and America doesn't allow dual citizenship, or do they now? I want to be able to visit Hong Kong without a visa, so is it possible for me to get a dual citizenship with Hong Kong? If I can, how do I apply for one? Are there any disadvantages? I'm not planning to become a politician or work for the government, but I'm just wondering.

btw I'm not fluent at all in cantonese but I'm trying to learn!

i'm a freshman in my high school and there's this girl that's in every other class i have. here's the back story: i met her on orientation day and she's sort of nice but the habits that she has annoy me a lot. one of the things that annoy me is that she speaks way too soft. when i talk to her, she replies with the softest voice and i've told her to speak up a bit but i just give up after 3 trys each day and just nod. the other thing that annoys me is that i can tell she has b.o. now i know what you're thinking: "wow this person is so stuckup. she hates someone bc of her b.o." this isn't the case and i don't "hate" people just because of that. in geometry, i have to sit next to her which is fine it's just that the smell gives me such a bad headache. (btw she isn't indian or eats curry, i have nothing against race.) i can usually take most smells including skunk (i'm from new england hehe) but this is so different. all i can smell is her smell and it bothers me so much that i can't concentrate on my work. i know that we're gonna switch seats at the end of the semester but that's in DECEMBER. i'm not very comfortable bringing this up to my teacher because i know my teacher isn't the kind that would be very understanding about this situation. the third thing that bothers me is that when it's quietish in the classroom, she makes this hmph sound every few seconds or so. when i take quizzes, all i can hear is "hmph" and it makes me so mad. it's not the nice "hmph" sound, it's the annoying "hmph hmph hmph" sound. in gym class, she follows me around, and i have no idea why. i've tried to ignore her politely but she just continues. i've observed her from a distance and when she's with her friends she has this blank stare and doesn't even say "hi" to her friends. i'm just too scared to say hi to her now. what can i do? i don't want to ask my parents because they usually give me those "parent" answers where they don't help you solve the problem. should i continue to just ignore her and keep swimming? i don't want to be rude to her because i feel very out of place when i ignore people. i also don't want to be stuckup or snobbish because that isn't me. i feel very bad even if my mom says i'm self centered. am i very self centered? am i being rude to this girl? please help!

when i go on facebook (fb), sometimes i see my friend on chat and usually either her or i go on chat. we've been the closest friends since 4th grade and we're now gonna be freshmen in high school. since 7th grade, we've drifted a little and i've moved across the country, so we're around 3000 miles apart :/ i miss her lots and when we happen to be on chat at the same time, we chat for a while, around 5-10 mins. after that, she disappears for like 10 mins with no brb or anything to say that's she's gonna leave for a while. i don't txt her everyday nor do i call her up everyday, so we're not completely obsessed. btw i'm a girl and i'm straight, to clear things up. it annoys the crap outta me when she just leaves without notice. i've talked to her about this before, and she does say something after i tell her, but she just keeps leaving after i tell her the next time we chat. it's getting to the point where i don't even want to go on fb chat with her because she just leaves me hanging. sometimes for an hr. no exaggeration. after she gets back, she explains what was up and i say alright, but it just seems like she doesn't care about my feelings, that i have things to do besides wait for her on chat. i don't want to end our friendship because we're so far apart. it seems as if i was just giving up on her. and i trust her with everything and so does she. i'm always there for her and so is she but on chat, she just leaves without telling me anything. i wouldn't mind if she left, just that she doesn't tell me. i feel like she thinks she can just leave me on chat for a long time without saying anything and then say oh hey i g2g bye. i miss her so much and i've told her this before twice. what can i do? we barely go on fb at the same time btw.

lately my parents have been fighting a lot. my mom usually starts criticizing my dad for the littlest mistakes in the world. My family is also moving soon, which causes a lot of stress for my parents. I'm worried that they'll break up... I don't know what would happen to us then because of moving. This hasn't happened really when I was younger... My mom accidently leaked out that they did fight but not when i was around. i don't know what to do! is it because of the moving stress or are they just ergh? please help i don't know what to do anymore i'm going through some sort of depression now because their fighting makes me upset and worried. my friend even found a white hair growing out of my head one day and i know it's from the stress my parents are putting on me.

my mom bought a lot of clothes for me when i was little and i've kept them since i've got them but almost 1/2 of them don't even fit me. yesterday i went through my wardrobe and got out all the clothes that don't fit me anymore. i was planning to give them to the salvation army but mom today came and went through my clothes because she doesn't trust me. when i was little i just didn't wear clothes that i didn't like. i was spoiled and i hate thinking of the past now. i've changed a lot since then. she found a pair of pants that i thought were mine (we bought 2 of the same pairs because when i was little we wanted to "match") and yelled at me because she thought i was wasting money. while that was my mistake bc i've confused the 2 pants, there were also clothes that didn't fit me but she still wanted to keep them! ik she doesn't want to throw out "good clothes" away even if they didn't fit me. i've learned a lot about money management but she STILL doesn't trust me and yelled at me when she finds a pair of pants that i didn't get a chance to wear much. ik i deserved it. now she won't even let me donate some of the clothes and ik i'm not going to get any new clothes soon. i only have 2 short sleeved shirts that fit me properly, a pair of jeans, and 2 plaid shorts that are starting to not fit me anymore but i still can wear them. i have enough long sleeved shirts but spring's coming and it's just too warm to wear them. i have only 2 sweaters that i can wear that i can go out in public wearing them because the other ones are just so old that it looks terrible. i don't mind wear those at home but if i went outside, people would always look at me like i'm crazy and tired lol. my family lives comfortably btw. i'm wondering how i can talk to my mom about my mistake and how to ask her to let me get a job for myself (she wouldn't even let me lol) so i can go and pay for my own clothes lol. or how i can ask her to just forget the past and try and let me go on a budget for my own clothes. i'm only 14, and i'm moving soon so i have no idea if i can possibly get a job this summer. i don't have enough clothes for a week of school without washing my laundry or re-wearing my clothes (people at my school look down on those people O.o sad world huh? plus i'd smell >.<). i do try and remember the less fortunate everyday. ik they don't have as much clothes as i do and i know i was a person who didn't know how to just save and use money wisely before when i was little. please help!

(and if you can, please tell me if i sound spoiled because i don't want to! i've changed a lot since i was little. it's a work-in-progress goal ^_^ lots of people at my school are and i worry constantly because i don't EVER want to be one of those.)

i'm 14 and i have an ipod but i don't have any music on it. my parents doesn't want me to get a job because we're moving soon and i don't know where i could work anyways. my mom also thinks that i can just use pandora on my ipod but usually when i use it i use my ipod in places where there's absolutely no wifi. i don't want to get music illegally because i don't want to get into trouble but i still would like to be able to get music cheaper or just easier legally. if you can show me sites that cost lest than itunes or tell me how to talk to my mom about this that'd be good.. thanks!

when i went to get my retainer, i asked my ortho to shave down my canine teeth so i wouldn't look like a vampire person (edward cullen lol) and he asked me to raise my hand when it got sensitive but i was just stupid and wanted rounder teeth so i didn't raise my hand for one of my teeth and now it's really sensitive and i'm wondering how to fix it because it bothers me when i eat. i'm using sensodyne and act fluoride rinse. i also use mi paste with my retainer but i've been using this for about 2 weeks and i still feel like my tooth hurts when i chew hard or cold or hot things. does it cost a lot to get this fixed at the dentist? or can they just fill it like a filling? and if they could, how much does a filling cost? thanks!

i'm getting my retainer tomorrow, but i forgot to ask the orthodontist to shave or file down my teeth because they're really pointy and they make me look like edward cullen... except i'm a girl! i'm told i'll get a clear retainer but i only want to shave down my teeth so they're more feminine and so i don't look like a vampire lolol. do you think i'll have to get another retainer? please answer soon!

I'm a little worried for tomorrow because I'm getting my braces off finally!! I'm worried that my teeth will be extremely yellow when I get them off. I brush my teeth twice a day, floss every night, and use those christmas tree proxy brushes? lol and I'm also worried that my orthodontist might not "file" or "shave" down my teeth because my canine teeth are still very pointy and it makes me look kinda freaky lol. Also I'm wondering if MI Paste really works for white spots. I only have a couple but that's really it. Thanks!

my promotion is coming really soon and I still don't have a dress... I don't exactly need one and I'm hoping my mom will let me get one. Almost every single girl is going to wear a really pretty dress and I want to wear a dress that no one else will have. It's not just because everyone's going to wear a dress, it's just because I don't actually own a dress and I want to look nice in pictures and whatnot before I go off to high school. Please give me some links here!! I'm kind of a picky shopper but still, I don't really like pink dresses, and they must be around knee length, not exactly, but just around there. I'm only in 8th grade and I don't want to wear a really long dress lol. I do like the color white and light blue, I love florals, and please please please NO tube tops, strapless, tight, or anything EXTREMELY ruffly. If possible, please make it under $30 because I'm not sure how much my parents will spare me for a dress :/ thank you guys I really appreciate this :D

i'm a teen and i love "old" music lol :) i like lots of music from the 60s 70s 80s 90s and some very very early 00s and almost nothing of today's music. is this normal? hahaha i'm sure this isn't a phase because i know what i like and i don't like things just because my friends like it or don't like it. I might not "truly" like the artists because i only like a couple songs from them but i usually listen to more and more of their music so i end up "truly" liking them.

i'm a teen and i have "normal" hair lol sometimes it gets oily but only if i don't wash it for a day. i'm wondering if i can use baby shampoo (i use Johnson's and Johnson's baby shampoo in lavender) because i have shoulder length hair and my hair was falling out and clogging my shower drain really fast. so i tried baby shampoo and it works pretty well. it left my hair much more softer like before. i switched to Pantene and that made my hair start becoming "plastic" feeling so i stopped. i'm trying to grow out my hair and i'm wondering if baby shampoo is sufficient enough to clean my hair and long hair. i love the smell of baby products lol...

so basically i'm wondering if baby shampoo will clean out oil and dirt from long hair lol thanks :)

btw i have "asian" hair lol really slippery and somewhat oily and fine-ish

i have braces on right now, and I had my braces for 1 yr and 8 months. They say I'm going to have my braces on for 2 and a half yrs. Well now they tell me that I might get my braces off in may or april. the thing is, my teeth are still crooked. the top left canine and another incisor? has a gap between them.. it's pretty big. It was never there before i got braces but it hasn't gone away. my top jaw also looks like i have buck teeth because I kinda did before lol. my 12 yr old molars are growing in and there's absolutely no more room for my wisdom teeth. Also, my top front 2 teeth have this strange gap where the bottom of the teeth are touching but the top has a gap, like the gum is recessed but it's a long gap lol. my teeth are also still pointy and bumpy. my canines are still pointy lol. my questions are:

1. is it possible to get my braces off in april or may this year? (my teeth are pretty straight)

2. will they fix that gap in between my teeth where the canine isn't even close to my incisor? (I had 2 permanent teeth taken out)

3. will i have to wear braces again if my wisdom teeth mess up all the work? (i know I don't have to but I would like to smile confidently)

4. will they also fix that gap in between my front 2 teeth? it's like the gap in between is curved not straight because my teeth grew weird and now the sides of the teeth are shaped like a foot

5. will they be able to "shave" my teeth so my teeth won't be pointy? my teeth look like a freaky vampire's teeth lol!

6. will they be able to make my teeth "non" buck teeth? if you see my face profile(not my yahoo profile lol) when i open my mouth it looks like a clam lol

I'm chinese.. and yet i can't speak chinese... my parents are chinese and they can speak fluent english, cantonese, and manderin.(somewhat manderin). I only can speak fluent English(I know more than them) and a little of cantonese(a dialect). I can't pronounce words very well because I've got the "American" accent everyone talks about lol. They've tried to teach me but for some reason my brain doesn't pick it up. I'm in my very early teens and I don't know how I can learn because I don't really have anyone to teach me. it's soo embarrassing when I talk to my relatives. If anyone has any suggestions for me please tell me! I'd also really like to learn how to read and write because it's extremely important haha... and maybe learn the pingyin system thing. My parents always say I'm past my "learning" age for languages even though I'm learning Spanish and I do well. Please help!

p.s it should be at least free haha and useful because I don't want to waste my time.

At my school they're talking about different career options that we have and for my occupational code it just doesn't fit me... I know what I'd love to do when I'm older- research and make new medicine or cures for such diseases that aren't cured yet... like diabetes(my dad has it), allergies(my whole family has it including me), mono, AIDS, Alzheimer, etc... What kind of job would would this fit in? please be specific and clear. thanks :)

p.s also what kind of degree would I definitely need? I'm going for a PhD but I'd like to know what's the minimum anyways...
