I'm possibly going to Japan in 2011 and I wanna know around how much it costs and if you've been there before how was it?

My parents are worried about me going overseas without them and they want to know how safe the trips have been in the past. So please help me reassure them it is completely safe.

Next, do I need to learn to speak Japenesse?
