  • Car won’t start after jolt?

I have a 2005 Astra. Everything has been running fine, I didn’t notice the car was in gear when I started it, it jolted forward and stalled. It won’t start now after this. Tried covering the bases by jump starting it and disconnecting the battery but still no joy. Any ideas?

  • 2005 Astra 1.4 loss of power?

Hi I have a 2005 Astra 1.4, the fault hasn't happened yet whilst running idle but mainly when I'm taking off from a roundabout or junction, it's doesn't happen all the time but it will several times throughout the day, I'll be pulling away and I'll feel a slight jolt then the engine management light comes on, I'll lose power down to a crawl and it'll stay that way but if I turn the ignition off and on again it clears the light and fault and away I go until it happens again. As I say it doesn't seem to happen on a straight doing top speed but mainly when having to accelerate at lower speeds.

  • Retail Till Overs?

Hi, I work in retail in Northern Ireland and as far as I m aware if your till is down then you are required to pay back the owing amount within set conditions as long as this has been agreed in your contract, my query is to what the law is if your till is over ie. at the end of the shift you have an extra £20 in your till, is that held in the same circumstances as a shortfall and required to be paid out as this is my current employers method (shortfalls and overs are not mentioned in the contract).

  • Nylon Darts Shafts and...?

I've been playing darts for less than a month and ive noticed I get the same problem some other players do. Sometimes the nylon shaft snaps flush at the barrel, would using o rings help reduce this, I see they are mainly used for metal shafts but was wondering if anyone had any tips on this from experience.

  • Why is it employers offer.....?

Why is it employers offer 15 hours a week whenever you need 16 hours to sign off JSA. i am currently doing 38 hours but my contract is due to end and i have just attended a second interview for a job where they informed me the hours are 15 per week, this means i will have to sign on JSA as well, why do they do this? Is it to save on extras they would have to give you as in holidays etc.?

  • Corsa coil pack..........?

Ok so yesterday morning at the first attempt the car turned over but wouldn't start. At the second attempt it started but the engine management light came on and the rev counter dial died, all other dials worked grand, 2 mins in and the light went off and all dials worked fine. It started fine all day. This morning it kept turning over but wouldn't start at all. Checked and there is no spark from the plugs, any ideas?

  • Renault Scenic Oil Leak......?

My neighbour is having trouble with his car. It's a 2004 Renault Scenic Expression DCI 120, the engine management light is always on and it's leaking oil somewhere, he got the head gasket changed but no fault there, he cant see any obvious leakage but it's losing a lot of oil somewhere, any ideas? (is there a way of finding fault codes on these similar to the corsa pedal test?)

  • Corsa Exhaust Emissions Fault?

I have a 2002 Opel Corsa 1.0, the exhaust emmisions light flashes then stays on when i start it and the car is sluggish to drive, before this the engine management light would flash up after driving for a while but when you parked up and started again it would disappear til you got another good distance. It had a similiar problem last year and it was a case of trial and error which resulted in changing the air flow meter fixing the problem, could this be the same problem again? Its an expensive job to be going through another trial and error task.

  • Corsa key fault?........?

I dropped the key to my 2002 Corsa and it came apart where you could normally pull it apart, it will open and close the car as normal and bring the dash lights on but when you turn it all the way it sounds like it is trying to start but doesn't, my other key works fine in it? I tried putting it into positions 1 and 2 and pressing the lock/unlock to possibly recode it but no luck. Any ideas?
