Help with Pioneer DVD-RW DVR 115D sound problem?
I have a pioneer DVR 115D and it works fine when I playing audio cd's. Problem is though when I play dvd's - I get a great picture but no sound! I've checked all the boxes and none of them are on mute, there is no conflict. I've tried windows media player, real player, quick time and the software included in the Disney dvd's but nothing works. Any idea's as to what is the problem? Weird thing is though the extra's play fine and I can use all the "extra" features contained in the dvd rom (like games and stuff) but can't get any sound on the main feature film.
I've gone through all the suggestions that help centre has offered and googled all night so far but nothing is helping. It's probably something simple but I'm missing it!
I've got a
Creative sound blaster PCI 128
Operating on windows XP professional with 1MB RAM
The computer is from Dell and it's only 6 months old but to be honest this is the first time I've tried a DVD on it and I'm puzzled. I don't need to update any firmware etc and am using the XP driver.
It works with DIVX dvd's and any other movie I have installed on my hard drive but according to the player there are "no sound files" on the shop bought dvd's..........
What's going on?!
1 AnswerOther - Hardware1 decade agoCan platy's be kept in a cold water tank with goldfish?
My friend has a very large tank set up with only two shubunkins. She didn't want to add any more goldfish but the tank looked empty. She looked a white cloud minnows but her goldies are too large and would eat the poor mites up.
Alongside the coldwater tanks was a tank full of various platy's. She was advised that they would be better suited to her goldfish as they were faster swimming and wouldn't fit in their mouths. She has had them four four months and they are doing brilliantly and are very pretty indeed!
I wondered though if she's been given the correct advise as I can only find temp advise from 24 deg upwards. I know her house is warm and the temp would have been higher in the summer months, but now I am thinking that now the temps are dropping her tank will do too - and whether a heater would be advisable to keep the tank at a constant temp.
She has a tropical tank they could in effect, be moved to but doesn't want to if she can help it.
Thank you in advance!
3 AnswersFish1 decade agoCan neon tetra disease affect cory cats?
Ok. First off I have been keeping fish for years so no smart answers :-)
Basically, I have glowlights and neons in a tank with peppered cory cats and they get on well. Now I have a problem...
I know tetras aren't the longest living fish (I have had some of mine for three years) but one by one they seem to be poping off. I originally had 10 large neons and have only got two left - they all seem to gradually do the same thing, twisting slightly where the head is, swim in circles then just die. I have two left and this has been going on for about six months. I just put this down to age.
On contemplating on upping my stock back to the original level, I have discovered that one of my glowlights seems to be going the same way. I would have put this down to age too but she her head is pointing slightly to the left.
So is it just age or is this signs of neon disease gradually spreading?? If so, will my cory cats be affected.
BTW - Size of tank/water levels spot on.
5 AnswersFish1 decade agoWhy do men refuse to accept they have faults too??!!?
I've just split from my boyfriend. It was a long distance relationship which meant I got to fly half way across the world to see him and vise versa. Everything was going great until he decided that he wanted to settle down. He started to pick holes in me, the way I speak, my grammar and almost every action I did. He said it was because he loved me and wanted to help me "better myself". After a while I began to loose self confidence and slid down a path which I am still in now.
When I finally explained that I felt he was knocking me all the time he said yes he was. He wanted me to face my faults head on and tackle them. Yet he refused to see that he was the problem I was "blonde, ditzy and volatile" his words to describe me. He simply said the fault lies in me and I have to change, he was too old to play games and wanted someone he didn't have to treat as a child.
I finished it, he then said I needed professional help and should see a shrink! WHAT?!
3 AnswersSingles & Dating1 decade agoDo you think that there is a difference between Lord of the Rings fandom (Ringers) and Star Trek (Trekkies?)?
I regularly attend Ringcon in Germany. I love Lord of the Rings in written form and also have a place in my heart for the films. The same company that runs Ringcon also runs Fedcon - a scifi convention aimed at Trekkies.
I have never held the two in close match - would never have considered attending Fedcon as "trekkies were geeks". But many LOTR fans attending Ringcon dress up now..............
I'm not one for dressing as an elf or orc, much prefere hearing the lectures and guest talks......but are Ringers in the same league as Trekkies???
